Charlie Baker’s Bullshit “Plan” Is Just A Game Of Chutes And Ladders Where We Start All Over Again After “Reopening” But Never Really Open Up

Charlie Baker released his “plan” yesterday for “reopening” the society we shut own over a virus that primarily kills people in nursing homes yesterday.

This is not a plan. This is meaningless bullshit from a feckless coward. Phase 4 is my favorite, “New Normal – Vaccine saves us all.” The underpants gnomes had a more thorough plan than this.

The vaccine won’t be here for years, and even then it will be experimental. If your plan is to not be fully opened until you have a vaccine then you don’t have a plan.

So what exactly are the 3 other phases before we get to the totally NOT Orwellian “New Normal?” Let’s see.

The four-phase reopening first will allow a limited number of businesses resume operations with “severe restrictions” in place, followed by a second wave of industries reopening with restrictions and capacity limits. The third wave of industries will be allowed to reopen with public health guidance. In the fourth phase, Massachusetts will try to return to a “new normal” after a vaccine is developed, Gov. Charlie Baker said Monday.

What day can my gym open so I don’t feel like such a useless piece of shit? What day can my barber open? What day can I go to a restaurant with my family and eat an entire meal of food? When do courts open? When do daycares open? Why aren’t schools open now since there’s zero evidence kids transmit the virus?

Turns out he kind of has an answer.

Baker did not attach specific dates to the phases, but he said he could see the state’s approach mirror those of other states that have spaced out phases four weeks apart if the state sees a sustained positive trend.

Whatever they’re doing in Michigan, we’ll just copy that. Not Georgia or Florida though. We wouldn’t wanna model ourselves after a plan that, ya know, worked.

And we’re gonna do each phase four weeks apart IF we see a “sustained positive trend.”

Tranlation – at any point we can go right back to the lockdown if I don’t like the way a chart looks.

Unacceptable.

Of course when you open up you’re almost guaranteed to get a small increase in the number of cases, which again is nothing to fear because for 99% of people the virus cannot kill you. What happens then?

If the state sees a spike in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations, it could return to an earlier phase and again impose additional restrictions on companies.

We start all over again.

Unacceptable.

This is like a game of Chutes and Ladders where you constantly end up on #87.

At this point it should be abundantly clear that the “plan” is to keep feeding the public vague bullshit like this and tell them you’re doing it to save lives. It will work because this state is FILLED with morons like this.

“Thank you for keeping us safe.”

Oh fuck off.

“Governor Baker is thinking about the people.”

No, he’s thinking about his poll numbers. He’s not thinking about the hundreds of thousands of people in this state who lost their jobs and businesses. He’s not thinking about the kids who are being abused at home with no one to advocate for them because they don’t have access to their teachers. He’s not thinking about the fact that “the people” are better served being outside and developing herd immunity to the virus. He’s thinking about pleasing idiots like this so he can jerk off to his poll numbers.

Every business owner in this state should just start opening up. They have no right to do this, there’s no law that gives them the power to do this, and if everyone just says “no more” like the golf courses did then they will be powerless to stop you.

It will take at minimum 3 years to successfully manufacture, test and study any vaccination… let alone have a comprehensive list of adverse effects… they are just skipping “phase 3” of the vaccination protocol! It’s a tort case in the making! Girarrdi and Keese, take it from here!

Thank God my kids are grown up and out of school. Thank God my business is “essential “ although I would be operating anyway if it weren’t. I wonder why we are not allowing “elective” procedures. My wife, the OR nurse is here ready to go. Wonder if the patients wallowing in pain are allowed enough pain killers by Adolf Parker who revels in closing businesses like vape shops who haven’t paid him enough bribes.

I think Baker is doing a great job. We are fucked. At minimum, no vaccine for 18-24 months. There’s no way we are opening. Mass has been one of the number one hotspots for this shit. On good authority Baker is suppose to announce an extension this week and rumor has it another 30-45 days. Riverside county in CA is about to go back to restrictions after a rise in cases after lifting them. Los Angeles has said “with all certainty” the stay at home order will be extended through July and the entire state of CA has less positive cases and less than half the deaths. Testing is the key and that is why it’s been the primary focus. I believe the goal is to have everyone tested. No way herd immunity is going to happen as 90% of the population would have to get it. Yeah, we’re fucked.

So much bullshit from the Governor. A vaccine will take years, and then the virus mutates. Look at the normal flu vaccine, how it often misses the mark. This plan is going to put more people out of work. We have depression (1929) levels of unemployment. We are committing to be paying out money to those not working. We will continue to lose jobs. We need a plan to win, not a plan to lose slowly.

How do we pay for it?

    First of all…

First of all, Rat, you never let on how much you like a girl. “Oh, Debbie. Hi.”

Two, you always call the shots. “Kiss me. You won’t regret it.”

Now three, act like wherever you are, that’s the place to be. “Isn’t this great?”

Four, when ordering food, you find out what she wants, then order for the both of you. It’s a classy move. “Now, the lady will have the linguini and white clam sauce, and a Coke with no ice.”

And five, now this is the most important, Rat. When it comes down to making out, whenever possible, put on side one of Led Zeppelin IV.

I am a well-educated, well-informed, tax-paying member of the Massachusetts community. I do not feel Baker has given me sufficient data and balanced information. He has told us plenty of information on positive results, deaths, those in hospitals, etc. He has not often (if at all) mentioned how many citizens are recovering at home, or have fully recovered. In addition, what are the statistics on the individuals that have tested negative? What are the ages, where are they living, what was the cause that led them to be tested (did they actually have the flu, allergies, pneumonia)?

The creation of this agency that contacts people when they have been exposed to COVID-19 is beyond ridiculous. Here’s an idea, let’s put money, time, energy and scare tactics into the clusters of positive results (nursing homes, people over 82). Policy makers have lost rationality and therefore the people have lost rationality. The comments on social media when someone does not wear a mask are horrid. Those who aren’t wearing masks are generally clumped into uncaring, selfish people (and my favorite, not valuable customers). Come on… the fact that I don’t wear a mask when I run specifically has NOTHING to do with other people and EVERYTHING to do with my ability to breathe. If wanting to breathe is selfish, well then we all have a long way to go as humans.
I WILL NOT BE VOTING FOR CHARLIE BAKER IN ANY FURTHER ELECTIONS! In fact, I wish I was a lawyer because I would represent small business owners in a discrimination lawsuit against the state. Why do big business get to stay open Charlie?

The socialists will demonize Capitalism but this country’s greatest right is individual freedom. To choose career path, where you live, how you spend your money, who you congregate with and what you think. That is what Globalists, Communists and Socialist hate and is their biggest obstacle to as Obama said “ fundamental Change” Does anyone think a capitalist is trying to take that away from you? Of course not. They thrive on your freedom of individual choice ..as you sit at home look at the “capitalist” company’s that have been allowed to stay open and thrive Walmart, Amazon , government employees and all the other darlings of the Socialists…Carly Fiorina (Female Republican Presidential Candidate and former CEO Hewlett-Packard Packard)summed it up perfect in the 2016 debate “only big business can thrive under big government (socialist, communist)” …the ultimate goal is to wipe all Mom and Pops

    May 12, 2020 at 12:12 pm

Ok first things first, the chart he included with his announcement is something that could’ve been drawn by a drunk sophomore Poli Sci major on the back of a napkin at 4am. What is ‘the new norm’ after the development of a mythical vaccine? Let us all remember that we have NEVER developed a vaccine for a respiratory coronavirus, like SARS. Never. Even a vaccine will have, what, a 9% success rate like the annual flu vaccine? This thing is going to morph and mutate, etc. It will be, if anything, marginally to moderately effective. Second, Baker is telling municipalities to dip into stabilization funding to fund basic and essential government services, which is a sign that the revenue projections for the next year – if not longer – are absolute trash. This can be expected, as businesses have been closed, no one is playing lotto, and we are at 15% unemployment to date. Also, if you have kids in public schools, get ready for cuts to music and arts programming, as Chapter 70 funding is going to absolutely something that happens in the fall.

The problem is that we have too many greater Boston Karens that applaud the behavior of this tyrant. All of the elected officials are going along to get along. Even Republican state reps in their posts are including things like ‘please don’t comment, I’m just a messenger.’ No, you aren’t. You are elected to lead, not just kowtow to fear and this nonsense. Think about this – a court, in MASSACHUSETTS – had to step in and revoke some of Baker’s bs orders regarding closing gun shops and prohibited 2nd amendment rights. Let that sink in. A court. In Massachusetts. Actually telling an elected official he has gone too far.

Thank you TB for continuing to shine a spotlight on this. All we need is one prominent business to stand up and announce they’ve had enough, and he will fold like the cheap suit he is, like he did with golf. I’ve voted for Charlie Baker – and never will again. The people he is appeasing at this point won’t support him when some loon with a D next to his/her name challenges him down the road. He is absolutely alienating the people that put him into office.

    Phase one:

I pay my excise tax. Because I have been allowed to drive

    Phase two:

I pay my water bill. Because the town has actually provided me with that service

    Phase three:

    I pay my property tax

    Phase four:

I stop driving to NH every time I need beer. But I still have to go there for vapes or menthol cigarettes, so maybe not.

Absolute BS. I work in a technology job. I have weekly on-line meetings with others who work for this multinational firm. They are in Italy, Germany, Malaysia, and China. Those offices are reopening. When those sites fully open, and mine doesn’t, how long do you think I will retain my job, Charlie? Instead of being a taxpayer, I will be on the dole, trying to sell my house, and move out of state.

i see it as the dems will keep their blue states closed to wait for more stimulus money to come to their bankrupt states. once they get the money some ,if not most will go to illegals. they are already screaming to get illegals some stimulus. people need to stand up to this and just open businesses and start this economy. do not wait for a dem to tell you when. they are getting paid either way.

(Well no shit, they have larger populations) Don’t over populate your states and turn every forest into a housing development you fucktards. And start by ending the sanctuary cities that will help you. Im not a doctor but I did stay at a holiday Inn

It’s obvious the plan is to prolong the shutdown and blame it all on Trump. Prolong the pain and hope people turn away from voting for him. This plan is nothing but a holding pattern until he gets word from the DNC.

You can bet your ass that the lockdowns would magically end in a heartbeat if the election were tomorrow and Trump lost.

I would like to also add that they need plausible time to ‘develop’ the vaccine. Two months is not enough.

I will double down and say that a woman or POC gets credited with the development of said vaccine in record time.

You’re right, if Trump somehow loses in Nov, this all goes away.

    Golf courses!

No CARTS per Mr. Baker. but you can go to Shaws or Walmart and ride around in little electric carts to your hearts desire. So no carts for handicap people, Charlies is breaking the law IMO.

You can’t pay CASH now at a golf course. The only business in MA that doesn’t take cash. My cash says legal and tender for all debts public and private. Charlie must be breaking federal law on this one.

Golf courses let 4 players tee off every 8 minutes. Baker changed that to every 15. Nobody hits a golf ball until the foursome in front of them is at least 250 yards away. That’s 750′. Social distancing wants 6′, Charlie wants more than 750′ for golfers.

    They are not allowing scorecards.
I could go on but it’s apparent the Baker Administration hates golfers. And they are complete fuck ups.

It won’t be long until the government gets rid of cash and everything is done electronically. They will be able to track your every move and they will eliminate the underground economy. And if they want, they can arbitrarily shut off your card so you cannot buy or sell. That is how they will control you in the new world order.

I have so many mixed feelings about all of this. You weren’t supposed to gather with your family at Easter, but a plane that is completely filled can travel from NYC to San Francisco, and that’s all right.

The politicians have used this virus in an attempt to destroy Trump, while burying their socialist agendas as riders to coronavirus bills. There are plenty of small businesses that will probably never be able to reopen. Then there is the question of which stores are essential and which are nonessential.

Why is it that our leadership can already count on a vaccine being developed in the near term?

To me, it kind of alludes to the fact that it already exists because hope is not an effective strategy.

And I’ll say it again: If wearing masks protect us so we can herd our way thru Walmart, and ” we gotta wear them” in public, then those same “mandatory” masks should protect us when we go back to work, right?
If you say “no”, then I ask the question: if they don’t protect us, then why in fuck is it “mandatory” that we wear them?
Sorry Charlie, you can’t have it both ways.
    People are losing their livelihoods.
These same people, who scream ” keep it closed” are going to be in for a very rude awakening when we fall into a Depression and they lose their retirements, their 401k’s, when the banks call in their notes, or fail altogether.
What ever happened to personal choice?
These Sheeple, who are forefitting their Constitutional rights to exercise free will, will rue the day when they lose everything.

Keep hammering away at the fact that herd immunity naturally does what a vaccine MIGHT do. In the history of corona viruses, of which there are thousands and thousands, there has never been a completely successful vaccine. Every.
So for the completely stupid people, please explain how herd immunity won’t keep us safe with the anitbodies our own bodies produce versus some cooked up lab stew that god only knows what they are putting in it?
Dumbasses….a vaccine stimulates your body to make anitbodies to a disease. Maybe. Sometimes.
Getting said disease, like Covid-1984 and then recovering, you actually, honestly, really and truly have antibodies. So all this horseshit about how your own, naturally produced antibodies won’t protect you but a lab created vaccine will is a wholesale lie.
Because Covid-1984 is such a mild sickness that the much better solution is to allow herd immunity to run it’s course. With children being the best vector to spread, as they have the lowest risk of all of it being any kind of fatality.
But, because this is completely politicized for nefarious gain, and it seems that the vast majority of people want to be in the dark, then this is what we have.
Reading is fundamental, kids. There is a wealth of knowledge out there for the taking if you’d only get your heads out of your darkest point of contact and look for it.
I know it’s very very scary to think the people “in charge” know pretty much nothing. But it’s ok. We can all take care of that by not allowing a group of people with an agenda to tell us what to do. That’s how this country is supposed to work. Again, you can read about that too.

Severe restrictions on private business? This is a fascist dictatorship unraveling by the rino governor. The government has no place to dictate how I can run my business.

Plus by phase 2, which would probably occur in July, they will just say a 2nd wave is happening and shut everything down again and reset the phase cycle.

Then the dnc operatives that work at the Boston globe, wapo, ny times, cnn, msnbc, etc will say it’s all trumps fault. Trust me they’re going to keep up with this bullshit shutdown until post election.

I’m so glad I’m moving from mass to NH at the end of the month.
