The ACLU’s Worcester chapter President Chris Robarge and District 4 City Councillor Sarai Rivera claim to be progressive and tolerant people. They often bad mouth Turtleboy Sports for being a “hate” blog that picks on people, particularly people of color. But at the end of the day they are two of the most hateful and vile individuals in Worcester, as can be seen in a recent Facebook posting which mocks Jackie Kostas – a Latina woman who made the grave mistake of spelling a word wrong:

Just to review, Chris Robarge is an upper middle class white guy. He’s also morbidly obese, so he’s obviously never struggling to pay his bills, particularly his grocery bills. While claiming to be a champion for “people of color” he is using his free time to mock a black Ethiopian immigrant (Mesfin Beshir), and a hispanic woman running for city council (Carmen Carmona) for supporting a hispanic immigrant running for District 4 city council (Jackie Kostas).

Yup, nothing elitist and bigoted about that. God forbid a woman who didn’t have the luxury of being born in America with a silver spoon full of pudding in their mouth, mix up two words (counselor, councillor) that are pronounced the exact same way. It’s too bad that she doesn’t have a shitload of money in her campaign finance war chest like Sarai Rivera does, since Sarai is being backed by Joe Petty, Jim McGovern, and every other kiss ass out there who wants to get ahead in Worcester.

Jackie Kostas is an immigrant from Peru. She works at Walmart. She would seem to be the ideal person for the hippies to get behind, since they pretend to champion people like this. But at the end of the day they’re all just phonies who support powerful land owners slumlords like Sarai Rivera.

You may recall that Sarai Rivera also claims to a pastor, because she took some internet classes and got an online degree in theology. One would think a woman of the cloth would jump in and say, “Now, now, that’s not very nice. What would Jesus do in this situation? Let’s focus on our campaign instead of mocking a Peruvian immigrant for making a spelling mistake.”

Not Sarai though. She went on the attack and called Jackie Kostas and Mesfin Beshir “fools”:

What a bully. You may also recall that Sarai’s own sister and niece contacted us to share with us a downright scary and vicious voicemail she left them, in which she calls her sister “Tee-Tee Ho”:

Very pastoral stuff right there. But yet despite being a machine-backed bully, who has literally everything handed to her in life, she still likes to play the oppressed card:

Oh yea, it’s YOU that has to deal with bigotry and ignorance. Right. Gotta love how she throws in the “I am a divine creation by a divine creator” comment. Because she’s basically Jesus fucking Christ incarnate. Naturally she had to throw in there that she is a “Latina women in a White Male dominated word” who is “struggling.” Because when you have the most powerful forces in Worcester County backing you up and throwing money at you, it’s really hard to be a Latina woman.

Sorry Sarai, but the only Latina woman who is being persecuted because of her ancestry is Jackie Kostas. And everyone and their mother who lives in District 4 should be voting for Jackie Kostas on election day. I don’t care if she fucks up spelling once in a while. She’s a decent, hard working immigrant, which is the foundation of American society. One hundred years ago Sarai and people of her ideology probably would’ve laughed at my ancestors for talking funny too. You’re right Sarai, the struggle is real.

I can appreciate the hypocrisy that TB correctly calls out on some of the politicians [most] of the time. But this act wasn’t as vile and as hateful as TB insinuates. He uses the same magnitude of ‘hating’ whenever he goes out of his way to pick on the flaws of an ‘enemy’ (ironically, just like in this article — I believe the word is ‘nitpicking’. That, by definition would be hypocritical: Every time TB makes a call like that, he needs to make sure he doesn’t do that or he sounds like a vile hypocrite himself; just existing in a different form. That does nothing for bringing real balance in the community — although do I see where the theme of the article was coming from.

“You can’t cast bones when you live in glass houses.” (Phoebe Vera)

Um, is “bones” instead of “stones” considered a slur, since the person she was referring to is African?

Fair enough, but couldn’t that proverb apply to some TB articles as well? That was my point…

Anyone else think the microphone in the “rachet ass hoes” picture makes her look like she has a soul patch?

I see where you are coming from. However the devil known is better than the one unknown. Sarai certainly has her issues. The talk with her sister doesn’t interest me. I’ve said some pretty fucked up shit to my family in the past. Is she full of herself. Well yes. Is she an adequate city councilor? Yes. I’m sure Jackie Kostas is a very nice lady; however their are clearly impediments for her that would make it tough for her to govern. I mean no disrespect to the woman, but she doesn’t communicate well. She would be a terrible choice for elected office. Again I apaud her for running, but just no.

OK… why should the citizens one should vote for an “adequate” city councilor? Even the term “adequate”
is debatable in this situation. Why not give the “unknown” candidate a chance when it is unknown how proficient of a Councilor she would be? If Kostas can show that she represents the values and intentions of her constituents, instead of parading around as a self-righteous blasphemer with a “poor me” mentality, she is definitely the one who is preferable. I feel that Kostas’ “unknown” status is far superior to Rivera’s KNOWN status for being an unhinged individual, let alone representing an entire group of people

At the end of the day you need to be able to advocate on behalf of your district and the city. Kostas can’t. She clearly has an issue with the English language. I know because I’ve spoken with her several times. Have you ever talked to her in person? I’m not condemning her. I applaud her for running. The issue is you can’t have the vote out the bums mentality for every race. Do I like Rivera? Not really. Do I live in her district? Yes. Has she helped me every time I’ve asked. Yes. District 4 is probably the hardest to represent. It is full of competing interests all from diverse backgrounds. At the end of the day you need someone is like this. There have been three District 4 city councilors since the city went to Plan E. Rivera is far and away the least controversial. Look at Haller and Nadeua. You want to talk about old school poltiticans who would break you knee caps. What exactly is the appeal for Kostas anyway? Give me an actual set of reasons to vote for her. Please dont give me the push peice reasons. Give me the real reasons? I know alot of backup QBs in the NFL who are hard working and nice…at the end of the day Nice, hard working, and not being am asshole dont win you the super bowl.
