A teacher from Burncoat High School forwarded this email to Turtleboy Sports today:
On Wednesday I will be participating in the annual Principal for a Day event sponsored by the Worcester Education Collaborative. Our guest principal will be Worcester Telegram and Gazette columnist Clive McFarlane. The event goes from 10:00 – 11:30 during which time it is my hope that I can provide Mr. McFarlane the chance to meet some of our kids and teachers and see what a great school we have.
This is really happening? A columnist who gets paid to routinely call teachers racist when they don’t subscribe to his worldview, is being invited to pretend that he’s a school administrator for 90 minutes? Can someone please explain to me what the point of this is? Like, does anyone honestly think you can get an accurate picture of what’s going on in schools by being principal for an hour and half? What’s he going to do? Is he gonna call parents, discipline kids, or put together a boring PowerPoint on MCAS results? Because if not, then he’s not really being a principal. He’s just a visitor.
Meanwhile the teachers at North have been BEGGING him to just step foot in their school and talk to some kids or teachers. He hasn’t even bothered to reply to their many, many emails. But he’ll go to Burncoat for the dog and pony show. Serious question – how can any teacher see this guy in the hallway and not wanna call him out for being an asshole? The guy doesn’t try to mask the fact that he despises teachers. Isn’ this creating a hostile work environment. I hope the staff there is diverse, or else you better be prepared to face the wrath of Spanky’s pen. Because as Clive has pointed out before, you can’t teach students of color effectively if you’re an old white lady.
I hate to say it, but I hope there’s a big fight while he’s there and he witnesses it. It’s the only way for this elitist dooshnozzle to recognize that it’s OK to call savage behavior what it is.
