“We’re rebuilding the city. We’re pushing the city forward.”

“This is over a half-billion dollars, this project here. We’re going to be putting a hotel up, 150 or so rooms. Three-hundred-fifty apartments in two apartment buildings are going up here. The hotel is going to have a full-service restaurant. Another hotel is going in on Washington Square. We have $7 million invested in the infrastructure of the Common.”

“The whole idea is to make this a vibrant 18-hour-a-day downtown. We have our act together as a community. People want to do business here. They see a lot of good momentum here, because everyone’s working together.”

You know who said all those things by now right?

Worcester is safe. Even ask Joe Petty. Just pay no attention to the abandoned dead body that was found next to Worcester Tech today:

A dead body was found in an abandoned property near the grounds of Worcester Technical High School early this morning. The body was found by the school’s Police Liaison officer on a routine check of the school’s grounds. In a statement released to GoLocalWorcester, Worcester Public Schools Safety Liaison Robert Pezzella said, “This morning…at Worcester Technical High School, a police liaison officer was making her daily rounds outside the school building. Upon entering an abandoned building on the property which is owned by the city, she discovered a deceased body. As a result of the discovery, she notified the proper local law enforcement officials and school administration officials.

Welcome to Worcester, where janitors randomly come across dead bodies on school grounds, but our mayor insists that the city is safe. Because that happens a lot in safe cities. Sure, Marlo, Chris, and Snoop used to hide dead bodies in vacant buildings in Baltimore after they murdered them, but our charts indicate Baltimore is more dangerous than Worcester. So things are going great!!

Oh yea, and as he pointed out – under his leadership the city has invested $7 million in the Worcester City Common. Obviously it’s been money well spent, so long as the goal was to attract Worcester’s finest crackheads to the common for afternoon naps and love making. Right across the street from the common on Portland Street there are upscale condos where no doubt he envisions young professionals moving into to take part in the thriving downtown economy. After all, Worcester is a city on the rise. Well, they’ll love Worcester, as long as they don’t mind getting stabbed once in a while:

On Thursday, October 08, 2015, at approximately 4:00 PM Worcester police were dispatched to 50 Franklin Street for a report of an Assault and Battery with Dangerous Weapon. Upon arrival, officers observed approximately five Good Samaritans attempting to render first aid to the male victim. The male victim was identified as a 28-year-old male from Worcester. The victim appeared to be suffering from stab wounds to his arm. His injuries are considered non-life threatening. According to the victim, the stabbing occurred inside his apartment on Portland Street. The victim reported that an unidentified male knocked at his door and accused him of robbing him while they were hanging out earlier in the day. The male suspect made his way into the victim’s apartment and the men engaged in a physical altercation. During the altercation, the suspect cut the victim with a knife. The victim fled the scene and sought help at 50 Franklin Street.

Oops!!!

So yea, just another day in Jumpin Joe Petty’s Worcester!!! Our charts tell us that we’re safer than Hartford, so as you can imagine things are going just fine!! Don’t listen to Mike Gaffney and Turtleboy and Konnie Lukes when they tell you that Worcester has safety issues. Sure random bodies pop up outside of high schools and people get stabbed over a case of mistaken identity. But besides that everything’s going great!!!

Read today’s Telegram. A Warren man is being charged for beating up a crook who was in the process of breaking into his home. Since the beating didn’t take place actually inside the main house, but outside moments later in the heat of a chase, and since the injuries are severe, the property owner is facing felony prosecution. This is bullshit! The widest possible lattitude should be given to innocent people in situations like this. Here’s an idea, let the crooks worry about their safety rather than terrorizing innocent citizens with the threat of prosecution. We all know if 40 cops had converged on the scene and unloaded hundreds of rounds into the guy they would be lauded as heroes, but this poor smuck is being put through the wringer. Our overlords must go!

Stupid article. Nothing better to write about? I mean could you be any more negative and cynical? Dead body found, let’s not ask how the person died or how they got there. And someone got cut with a knife. Wow. I don’t get it. This is a crime spree?

And yes, since the arrests and not granting bail the City is a significantly safer place.

There are about 100 violent offenders with prior convictions and propensity for using firearms and other weapons. It takes approximately three separate firearm offenses before a judge will not grant bail. So, can we arrest our way out? absolutely. Worked wonders in Boston in the 90’s and elsewhere. Some cooperation from the Courts and it would send a real powerful message. Under Petty ganga bangers and wannabes get no time just street cred. And a dangerous City results.

We just arrested 16 gang members, why is there still violence in the city? I thought TBS said we could arrest away this problem?

If you want to see the aholes with their EBT cards and no jobs ck out Worcester Common daily. They smoke their weed, shoot up their heroin, scream into their Obama phones and fight. Every single day. Some drag their poor kids into this shithole mess and leave them sitting in their strollers witnessing this daily shitshow. For a little while the common got better but it is at its worst right now.

Take back our city! The elegant hotel – for what? Business people? Why are they coming to Worcester? Am I missing something? Are there conventions at DCU that often? It looks good on paper but I am a realist. How about a treatment center to assist those wanting to come off of the drugs? That’d assist with the drug related issues. I don’t want to hear the bull shit that they are just junkies not wanting help! Yes, that is a fact for some. Yet, many want to break free of the hold drugs have on their lives. The two main treatment centers do not have enough beds for those seeking the treatment. The homeless drug addicted could also benefit from a SOBER living unit.

Boone is leaving! Happy dance! Maybe my grandchildren will receive a quality education! Fingers crossed that Harrity doesn’t return to apply for the position! Too bad Janice Harvey can’t seek it. She would make the difference the WPS needs!

Let’s rid ourselves of Petty! The citizens need to take the time to get to the polls! Enough is enough! Change does not occur without action! Worcester must stop handing out money to the Mosaic! If it were coming from the pockets of the enablers, it would not be done! But hey, fuck it they take it from the citizens they are claiming to have their best interests in mind for!

Numero uno issue with Worcester IS drugs. Open dealing and use and if I can see weekly instances of hand to hand sales, and dozens of cars pulling up to certain houses, why can’t the police? Crush the gangs and their narcotic sales big-time, and watch how the city will magically improve. Try it.

You’d think these idiots would know – you never handle cash and drugs at the same time! You take their money, then send them around the corner to the guy who does the hook up.

Did the Barksdale gang teach us nothing??

” where janitors randomly come across dead bodies on school grounds,” ? Read your own article…

“The body was found by the school’s Police Liaison officer….a police liaison officer was making her daily rounds …she discovered a deceased body”

The facts are bad enough on their own…no need for fictionalized hyperbole.

The other case was far from mistaken identity too. The victim admits to “hanging out” with the suspect earlier in the day. There’s enough dirt out there we don’t need to bring in false info
