We’ve got quite the situation brewing in Rhode Island’s asshole, AKA Westerly, after a Mexican restaurant called Amigos Taqueria Y Tequila apparently made their employees wear some anti-Trump shirts that they posted on their now unpublished Facebook page.

Alright, let’s begin by pointing out that “86-45” does not refer to killing Trump. It’s a commonly used thing on the left for impeaching Trump. A Google search will show you that.

You’ll also see that you can purchase 86 44 gear if you thought Obama should’ve been impeached.

I have no idea what bootleg urban dictionary they quoted to victimize themselves here, but it does not actually mean that this particular Mexican restaurant is advocating for the murder of a sitting President.

Nevertheless, its beyond stupid for a restaurant to take a political stance on any topic. I’m sure the owner felt woke as fuck and enlightened when she did so, but believe it or not outside of your Vox bubble, there are many people who don’t think 45 should be impeached, and even more people who just wanna give you money for a chimichanga and diarrhea.

According to the Westerly Sun, the owner sees nothing wrong with it though:

Wendy Carr, organized awareness events after Trump’s victory in 2016, including a celebration of International Women’s Day and a “Westerly Huddle.” Carr said “to 86” something is a restaurant term used when menu items are no longer available. “It’s restaurant language … in this case it means impeach,” Carr said.

Oh OK. So her restaurant isn’t pushing it down your throat that Trump should be killed, just that he should be impeached. That’s way better. I know when I go out to eat a restaurant I definitely like it when the waitress who dropped out of art school lectures me about politics.

Carr said her staff’s voluntary decision to wear the shirts on Election Night was the culmination of her personal monthslong push to bring attention to the midterm election. “It’s important to look at the shirts within the context of the night. It was a political night, Election Night,” Carr said during an interview.

Wait…..what? The 2018 election was a midterm. Trump wasn’t running. Yet your staff was not only wearing shirts calling for his impeachment (the undoing of a democratic election), but was doing it two years too early. Makes sense.

By promoting the sale of the T-shirts on the restaurant’s Facebook page, Carr said she was “trying to build community based on shared values” and encourage political action. “I was not and would not ever try to make anyone feel unwelcome,” she said.

Oh right, “shared values.” Because when you live in a Mother Jones bubble you can’t imagine how anyone wouldn’t agree with the impeach Trump shirts your entire wait staff is wearing. I can’t possibly envision how that would make anyone feel unwelcome.

But wait, it’s OK because…..

Carr said she donated proceeds from sales of the T-shirts to national candidates. 

And I’m sure the $500 they made from t-shirt sales was split evenly between republican and democratic candidates.

People like Wendy Carr are a big reason for the political divide in our country today, because they often make headlines. However, on the other hand the right wing reaction is equally as terrible. Let’s check out what the Fox News Mafia had to say about this…..

Great point Mimi. I was gonna say ICE, but the CIA sounds a lot more reasonable. Up until this point I thought the CIA was in charge of organizing covert operations in other countries, but apparently they arrest people for wearing shirts at Mexican restaurants in Rhode Island.

But what if the CIA is busy? Who should we call after that?

Thank God Paul Blart doesn’t take days off.

Yea, don’t do that. Even though I completely disagree with what these idiots did, these are the same people who would be whining if the left did this to Hobby Lobby, or a baker who didn’t want to make a gay wedding cake. You can’t be a victim and an aggressor at the same time. It’s just not a good look. Don’t get me wrong, she totally deserves to lose business and she should expect this blowback because she should understand how the Internet works. I like to think we’re above that though.

Evidently a lot of this has been organized by a Rhode Island State Senator too:

To many the pairing of the numbers 86 and 45 is an understated call for the impeachment of President Donald J. Trump, but to state Sen. Elaine Morgan the two numbers placed together have a different meaning. With that interpretation in mind Morgan has called for a boycott of a local restaurant whose staff wore T-shirts bearing the 86 45 code on Election Night. “For food it means to get rid of. For a person it means murder … to 86 somebody means murder,” said Morgan, the Hopkinton Republican who was re-elected to a third term on Nov. 6.

No Elaine, it does not mean murder. You are the right wing equivalent of Elizabeth Warren. Full stop.

The bottom line is this is why politics sucks. Because these are the people driving the conversation. Moderates are drowned out by yahoos on the right, and rabid SJWs on the left. I hope this business fails because they deserve to fail.
