Just when you thought Andover High School Principal Phil Conrad couldn’t bring any more embarrassment to his school after having a Tewskbury School Committee member arrested for not moving his seat at a basketball game after some Andover kids stole his jacket, he went and did this:
Yes, that’s right. Phil Conrad woke up this morning and attempted to be woke about black history month by announcing that Andover High School would be serving fried chicken, mac and cheese, corn bread, and collard greens. Which is almost the exact same meal that golfer Fuzzy Zoeller got destroyed over for mocking Tiger Woods in 1997.
I mean….what the fuck is he thinking? I hate PC ideology, and think that people who play the race card all the time are assholes who don’t have an actual point to make. But this might be the most tone deaf, idiotic thing anyone has ever tweeted. And it came from a high school principal, who’s been featured on Turtleboy many times for being an incompetent ass bag, so you would think that he of all people would be a little more careful
Seriously, how is planning on celebrating #BlackHistoryMonth2020 next week? Class field trip to pick cotton? A live performance of Amos and Andy in blackface? Special motivational speaker Riley Cooper? What a maroon!!
It goes without saying that not all black people eat fried chicken, collard greens, and cornbread at home. He would know that if he lived in a town that actually had black people in it. Ya see, there’s a little known fact that city kids like myself learned after immersing ourselves in the world of diversity growing up – black and brown people are just like regular people. Some of them like fried chicken, and some of them don’t. Fucked up, right?
He took the tweet down after a couple people noticed it and called him out on the obvious racism. But it’s still up on the school district’s website:
Oh good, they’re having a chicken and waffles day too. And you can assume based on their complete lack of self-awareness that the “assorted fruit” will likely mean watermelon, and more watermelon.

How exactly did the students pick the meal? Was this voted on by the students at AHS? Did they have a checklist of “racist” foods to pick from, or was it a massive write-in campaign while the students snickered behind their hands? Okay, the principal approved what the students picked. But the students picked it. Why isn’t anyone mentioning that?
And frankly, it’s a pretty complicated meal for a high school cafeteria. You’ve got 2 fried items, which have to stay viable until they can serve everyone, presumably homemade mac and cheese, and collared greens, which take a long time to make properly. Really the healthiest part of the meal is the fruit.
I am hoping, that in the interest of diversity, that the school also hosts a typical white meal….
