ESPN Pulls Asian Announcer Named Robert Lee From Calling UVA Football Because They Think It Will Offend People Who Think He’s A Civil War General

This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen social justice warriors do. And they do ridiculous things for living. And by SJWs I mean MSESPN. Just read this:

ESPN broadcaster Robert Lee will not work Virginia’s season opener because of recent violence in Charlottesville sparked by the decision to remove a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee. A spokeswoman for ESPN says Lee has been moved to Youngstown State’s game at Pittsburgh on the ACC Network on Sept. 2. The network says the decision was made “as the tragic events in Charlottesville were unfolding, simply because of the coincidence of his name.”

Plans to remove a statue of Lee led to a protest in Charlottesville earlier this month that attracted what is believed to be the largest group of white nationalists to come together in a decade. Violent clashes erupted between a large gathering of white nationalists and hundreds of counter protesters. ESPN says the decision to put Lee on another game was made “collectively.” It also says it’s “a shame that this is even a topic of conversation.”

I thought this was satire at first. But with ESPN anything is possible. After all, they’ve given a courage award to a 65 year old millionaire in drag. And in their infinite wisdom they decided that people watching the UVA season opener wouldn’t be able to differentiate between a confederate general who died 147 years ago, and an Asian guy who does color commentary for football.

This is how stupid they think their viewers are. They are worried that they will turn on the television and think that the ghost of Robert E. Lee descended from the ashes, just in time for kickoff. Of course they also convinced millions of morons to believe that the Patriots need to intentionally deflate footballs in order to beat crapbag teams like the Indianapolis Colts, so I can’t blame them for assuming that anyone who still watches ESPN is in fact this dumb.

Here’s the thing. If Robert Lee were black or hispanic, he’d probably be calling this game on Saturday. But Asian people for whatever reason are NOT a protected class of the social justice warriors. Probably because they’re so good at assimilating, making money, and disciplining their children. Robert Lee has Asian privilege, so it’s OK to fuck him over like this.

The funniest part about this is how ESPN is trying to pretend like this is out of their hands:

“It’s a shame that this is even a topic of conversation.”

Ummm….it’s not a topic of conversation. It’s a conversation that you started and ended with yourself. No one else would’ve thought twice about it. And even if they did make the connection that they shared the same name, no one would care or debate about it. Just MSESPN doing some pre-emptive race baiting when no such race baiting has even commenced yet.
