Boston Police Officers shot and killed a man after they say he attacked medical personnel sent to help him. Family members have identified Terrence Coleman as the man who was shot after he attacked emergency responders with a knife shortly after they showed up around 12:30 a.m. Sunday in the South End. Boston police and the District Attorney’s Office are investigating the shooting inside a brownstone on Shawmut Avenue.
Police Commissioner Bill Evans told FOX25 Coleman’s mother called 911 shortly after midnight to report her son was emotionally disturbed. According to Evans, the 31-year-old man has a history of paranoid schizophrenia. When EMS and Boston police arrived, medical personnel went inside the brownstone first. Evans said Coleman started to struggle with them and pulled out a knife. The officers who were waiting outside then came in to help, and that’s when Evans says the situation escalated.
“He swung repeatedly at the officers with the knife and unfortunately the officers had no choice and they fired and they killed the individual,” Commissioner Evans said.
According to a news release, the officers attempted to disarm the Coleman but were unable to in the scuffle. The family of Coleman said he did not have a knife and they are disputing the police’s account. Evans also said the responding officers were injured during the attack and two medical responders also had injuries to their heads and backs.

Pretty shitty situation all around. Hate to see anyone die, especially someone with psychological problems like this. But two EMS first responders sustained injuries from a man swinging a knife at them. Were they supposed to wait until one of them was killed before the cops stepped in to save them? Like I said, shitty situation, but anyone with common sense knows the outcome was unavoidable.
But of course, many people like common sense……
I love it when the experts on law enforcement share their thoughts on social media. They have it all figured out. Why not just taze the guy? Why didn’t they think of that? Oh yea, because often tazing does not work and it only makes the subject more aggravated and violent. Just ask these two cops who got the shit kicked out of them by a guy who got tazed a million times and still didn’t go down:
Now imagine that guy had a knife in his hands and was trying to stab first responders. I wanna see what Lulu Boudreau would do in that situation.
HAHAHHAHAHHA!! I love the “can’t they shoot them in the leg” people. Because it’s that fucking easy. Shooting at a small appendage while the body is in motion in a small and enclosed area – what could possibly go wrong? Oh, I know the answer to that one!! The cops would probably miss, someone else in the room would end up getting shot, and a whole bunch of people would get stabbed. But, it’s all worth it because this Facebook expert with an upside down American flag profile picture says it’s easy.
There he is folks – the “my wife works with people like this, therefore I’m an expert” guy. The cops should not have shot this guy who stabbed two first responders because this guy’s wife is trained in restraining people. I’m sure the people who live in the group home she works at often attack his wife with a knife. Good thing Brian LaRiviere will never, ever have to call the cops because his wife is superwoman, and they can handle shit on their own. But please, tell me more about all the mental hospitals Ronald Reagan closed in the 90’s when George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton were president.
Then there’s this guy:
Oh look, another genius who thought it would be wise to post about killing cops on Facebook. Please, Keith Osgood, I beg you to stand in traffic on I-95 when I’m driving on there. The Turtleboy hippie-plowing freedommobile would love nothing more than to add this face to our windshield collection:
Luckily black lives matter is keeping their cool about it and being reasonable, as usual. LOL, just kidding. They’re using it as propaganda in their unending war against police everywhere:
