Fox 25 NewsA Millbury soccer field was torn up by a driver doing donuts on the field, leaving behind trenches and piles of dirt. The damage is so extensive that kids most likely will not be able to play games at the field for the rest of the fall season, organizers of the Millbury Soccer Club said. The Millbury Public School’s girls’ varsity and junior varsity teams, as well as the club teams, play at the field, which is behind Shaw Elementary. “Once I saw it, I was shocked,” said Matthew La Plante, Vice President of the Millbury Soccer Club. “I didn’t think it was going to be as bad as I saw. I figured maybe someone’s tires were just spinning on top, and then when I saw how dug in it was and everything, I just kind of moped back to my car and sat there staring for awhile.” Fixing the field, which belongs to the school, won’t be quick or cheap, said La Plante, who has been coaching and mentoring young soccer players for years.

Twelve-year-old junior varsity player Emma Luby learned about the incident after lunch at school Monday. She told Boston 25 News she is disappointed that whoever is responsible chose their idea of fun over hundreds of kids’. “Kids come out here to have fun and to make themselves happy, and you kind of just ruined their fun and happiness,” Luby said. Millbury police are investigating the crime. It is unclear if there is surveillance video on nearby cameras. Kids and parents are pleading with anyone with has information about the crime to contact police, and they’re asking anyone with the means to fix the field to step up and help.

It takes a real dildo baggins to destroy a kid’s soccer field. Odds are it’s just some trashbag C student teenagers who will likely never, ever leave Millbury. And to them this is some sort of amusement. But they really did a number on this field and probably cost the town or the schools (not sure who picks up the bill) tens of thousands of dollars to redo it all, if not more:

It just sucks because the people who lose here are kids. We’re living in an era where too many kids are sitting in their homes looking at their iMachines, or outside doing even worse – hanging out with skateboarders. Nothing good ever comes from that.

And here you have kids who are actually active and like playing sports, and it’s being taken away from them. Plus, Millbury is actually known for it’s girl’s soccer, as they frequently win district championships and compete for state titles. Just a shame man.

On that note, someone must’ve known who did this. There’s a 0.0% chance the dingleberries who did this haven’t opened their mouths about it. People who do donuts on athletic fields aren’t the kind to keep secrets. They’re gonna think it’s cool and they’re gonna tell one too many people, who will tell other people, and they’ll get caught.

So what we’re hoping is that one of these people who they told is you. Be the snitch. The first person who messages us with a name that turns out to be one of the guilty parties, gets a free Turtleboy mug. Coffee not included. Not sure what else can be done about this, but if anyone has any idea we are all ears. I’m sure they’ll figure something out, but it’s just a gigantic pain in the ass for the Milllbury AD to find and coordinate places for all these teams to play in a town that now only has one functional field.

This is why we have to have cameras everywhere. This is why so many places have to have gates that close at dusk which prevents decent people from taking an evening stroll with their dog. It is also why public parks and beaches ban alcohol. It would be nice to have a beer with my sandwich at the beach, but too many people have gotten out of hand and caused trouble in the past, although now I find the beaches and public parks littered with water bottles instead of beer bottles.
