Yesterday we blogged about the hippie dooshnozzle from Colrain who caused a stir on the Facebook machine when she posted this:

Well after this story went 413 viral the school district (Gill-Montague) felt the need to issue an explanation:

Hey what do ya know? We were right all along. Again. All these hippies were whining about a lack of art in that room, and it turns out the school is in the process of painting it as we speak. No kid is left in there for hours and there is always a professionally trained adult with the student to make sure they are OK and “cooling down.” Seems like a great place to send your kid to school if you ask me.

Once again, this whole thing started when Michelle Crowningshield B, who has no kids in this school and owns a hippie shop in that area, took the the word of a 6 year old she tutors as fact. Oh yea, and a bunch of Turner Falls folks sent us messages, including this one:

The kid she is “tutoring” is the same kid who’s father caused a lockdown a month or two ago. The police had to escort him out of the building. His parents think their kid does no wrong and they did not like the fact there 1st grader got suspended for outrageous behavior. So the father threatened the school and showed up after the threat so the cops had to be there and a “lockdown” was in affect.

We have no way of knowing if this is true, but we’re just posting it because it’s another side of the story. And if you had a gun to my head I’d believe this story, because it actually makes sense. Plus it came from a parent of a child in that school, who obviously knows a lot more about it than Michelle the Colrain hippie.

Mystery solved.

Anyway, we’ve got some more fantastic hate mail from some of Turner Falls’ finest, which we’ll be saving for a special occasion. But the bottom line is that a zip trip to this area is in order in the near future. Deerfield, Montague, Greenfield, Leydon, Colrain, Shelburne, and if we have enough time Heath, Charlemont, Hawley, and Buckland. Should be a magical journey.
