Masslive: The Hadley police sergeant who inadvertently posted a controversial message on the Police Department’s Facebook page last week apologized to the town for his mistake Monday and said, “I feel awful about it.” Sgt. Ken Hartwright spoke to more than a dozen community members and town officials at the Hadley Public Safety complex to talk about the post and concerns it raised. The post, originally from Guardians of the Thin Blue Line, read: “Two guys get kicked outta Starbucks and everyone freaks out. 2 cops just having lunch were assassinated and no one bats an eye.” It was referring to an incident in which two black men were arrested at a Philadelphia Starbucks after an employee called police because the men hadn’t ordered anything, and to the killing of two deputies in Trenton, Florida, who were ambushed while they were eating inside a Chinese restaurant.
Hartwright said he meant to share it on his own Facebook page, but posted it to the department’s page instead. It was taken down in about 12 minutes, but people who found the message insensitive continued to leave comments. A police officer for four decades, including 10 in Hadley, Hartwright said he loves the community.
“I didn’t pay attention to the top part of the meme,” he said but “only the part of the officers on the bottom of the meme. When you lose an officer, it hits home.”
Trying to keep his voice steady, Hartwright said he has a 19-year-old son who is studying criminal justice and wants to be a police officer.
“This has been the worst week of my life, the worst week of my career,” he said. And he said the worst part “is I think I deserve it. It was insensitive,” he said. And he said, the post “added to the divisiveness in the society.”
Take it easy Sergeant, it’s really not a big deal. The only thing you did wrong was mistakingly post this to the Hadley PD Facebook page. Trust me, as someone who admins several community pages AND personal pages, it’s very easy to post using the wrong account. Sometimes you don’t realize that you’re replying to people using your personal page and vice versa. It was up for 12 minutes, it was taken down, no biggie. You did the right thing because memes like this shouldn’t be shared on police pages. It’s not that I disagree with the meme, it’s just not why these pages exist. Police pages are there to communicate with the public, remain unbiased, and post hilarious mugshots so we can laugh at dumb criminals. If you wanna share this meme on your personal page, which is clearly what you intended to do, that’s completely fine.
Plus, if you’ve been a cop for four decades, you’re probably older and don’t really get how to work the Facebook machine yet. Maybe hand over the reigns to someone a little bit younger. But again, no biggie.
Thats how a rational person would respond to this. Instead we got this:
Leachim Remlap’s real name is Michael Palmer. He is your classic Hampshire granola eating white guy.
Michael intentionally chose to live in a town that is less than 1% black. Because obviously he would prefer not to live around black people, more than likely because he harbors racial animosity towards them. It’s sad really. And in order to make up for this white guilt he overcompensates by pretending to understand the plight of the black man.
“One is a dangerous profession from clock in to clock out. The other is a dangerous existence from birth to death.”
Ya know who disagrees with the idea that black people are inherently in danger simply from being born? Many black people. Like Candice Owens. Black people who realize that it’s not cool to be a victim. It’s not cool to be oppressed. But here is this white guy from a nearly all white town telling black people what it’s like to be them. He is the very definition of a racist because he believes that skin color defines you. And as usual, the people screaming racism the loudest are often the most racist of them all.
Hey Michael, where’d you learn about the plight of the black man from?
Oh good, he follows a hashtag. He’s an expert on race relations now.
Watch out though, he’s armed with history:
Yea, let’s talk about that. Black people were enslaved and denied Civil Rights for the first 200 years of our countries history. It’s a real black eye for sure. Something no one is proud of.
But…..what’s that gotta do with the meme? Two black guys who refused to purchase a coffee from a Starbucks were kicked out of a busy store where seating is limited. I’ve met people at coffee shops for business meetings. If you’re there first you order a coffee. That’s just common decency. If you’re really nice you’ll order for the guy you’re waiting for too.
But instead these two frauds decided rules don’t apply to them because of the color of their skin, and they urged the rabid SJWs in that Starbucks to film them as they were arrested after being given several chances to buy something or leave.
And yea, this got an INSANE amount of attention. Way more than the two cops killed in Florida. That’s not even debatable. Two guys who were not harmed, were NVER in danger, and will likely make millions from their stunt are still alive and being treated like the most aggrieved victims of all time. The cops in that video who simply did their job are getting MUCH more negative attention than the two dead cops in Florida.
Any officer who feels that this imbalance in coverage is disrespectful towards their profession is perfectly justified to feel that way and voice their opinion. Just do it on your own page.
He wasn’t done though….
Well, there it is folks. The dumbest thing anyone has ever posted on the Internet. Because it’s a rule that everyone who has EVER been a cop has “committed an act of violence against an unarmed black man.” There are wypipo out there who actually believe this. They actually believe saying this makes them “woke” as opposed to ignorant. Amazing.
Then there was this chick:
Here’s Dina Friedman:
She’s an “author” with impeccable fashion sense:
Here’s a picture she posted on her Facebook page:
Oh look, an Abercrombie commercial. Oh wait, those are the people she interacts with socially. And of course all of them are white. Because God forbid these SJWs actually associate with real life black people. I guess it’s just easier to pretend to care about black folks by demanding that dedicated cops lose their jobs over a harmless Facebook post that was up for 12 minutes.
All you need to know is that she’s one of these…..
At no point in time should we ever take someone seriously who has worn a pink pussy hat. They are a joke. Stop listening to them. Stop humoring them. Stop pretending that what they say matters. It doesn’t. There’s no need for a community meeting just because some keyboard activist has determined that this cop should lose his job. Just no.
