Earlier today we published this blog showing you an Instagram post from an Andover High School volleyball player that has led to the unwarranted suspension of one of the most successful coaches in the state – EJ Perry. It is yet another example of this dysfunctional school district allowing their corrupt superintendent, principal, and athletic director drag a great coach through the mud while siding with snotnosed, entitled teenagers who have never been told no their entire sheltered lives.

But we didn’t know the “captain’s” name because the post was redacted. Now we do:

His name is Alex Shih:

He’s a senior attending the University of Toronto next year:

So things will be fine with him. Who cares what he burns to the ground before he runs off to his four year paid vacation which will lead to high paying jobs and a comfortable life for him moving forward? Who cares about the innocent coach whose good name was smeared by your disobedience, defiance, entitlement, and disrespect?

You didn’t feel like coming out of the game, therefore why should you? The coach has no authority. He’s not in charge – you are. You make the rules. You’re the best player on your team, your Mommy even said so. Who cares if you admittedly made a critical mistake at critical point in the game? That doesn’t mean you should be benched. There are no consequences for your mistakes.

What’s that? The coach was mean to you because you showed him up and defied him during a game? That doesn’t give him the right to raise his voice or (gasp) DECAPTAINIZE you!!! Didn’t you tell the coach that you saved France from the terrorists?

Of course it took two to tango, and his buddy Matt Guthrie wouldn’t come in the game for him either:

Matt is “on your side” too. He’s another student who has arbitrarily decided that he knows more than the coach who went 112-0 while coaching volleyball in New Hampshire. Why should he listen to coaches? Does you coach even know who is parents are?

Screw these shitheads. These aren’t 12 year olds. They’re adults. They made a choice to not only be defiant little pissants, they then went and bragged about it on social media. Of course the worst thing they did was then report the coach to administration like the pussies they are. Because they couldn’t accept the fact that their shitty behavior led to the “punishment” of no longer being a captain.

On the other hand, it never should’ve come to this. These kids will forever be on Turtleboy Sports, and their names will come up on search engines here, because of the actions of Athletic Director Bill Martin. The second he saw this he should’ve immediately suspended them. They admitted to defying their coach. If the AD doesn’t stand by his coaches then he shouldn’t be the AD.

I didn’t know volleyball was so important. Where I live it’s just a game people play for fun every once in a while, like during a family picnic, or while on vacation. The only volleyball in my high school is/was gym class. My P.E. teacher had my class play it more often than other classes because of my trouble with running and other activities. I was great at volleyball. Everybody wanted me on their team, and it was only because of me being over seven feet tall. hahaha

Personal attacks, inflammatory remarks, unrelated smearing… who’s more unreliable, the students who made formal allegations or the zealot who shit out some buzzwords?
And don’t worry, your community college fanbase clearly takes this site seriously, but anyone whose opinion matters will read this article and immediately wonder the amount of crack you smoked before vomiting it into some emotionally charged paragraphs.
Downvote away, but just know it’s not going to prevent the investigation from condemning the coach!

Aw, how cute! High School Hero has all of his little classmates upvoting and downvoting comments.

For the record, being that mommy and daddy clearly didn’t impart this wisdom on you, the number of “likes/upvotes” on your comment does not equal validation of your point. It just shows that your classmates are as clueless and vapid as you are.

Now, as I instructed you earlier, fuck all the way off. Oh, wait. You’ve already proven that you don’t take instructions very well, so, do whatever you want. You seem to be good at that.

Just like your preconceived plan to try to tarnish Coach Perry, your little campaign of flooding the comments section is a total failure. Alex, I actually care about you and your family, if you have any sense you’ll make a public statement Wednesday apologizing for the pain and embarrassment you have caused in your town and try to salvage whatever chance you have of staying on the volleyball team, being the Valedictorian and attending UToronto. Don’t throw it all away. Stop listening to your idiot friends who validated your regrettable Instagram post. You’ve lost. Pick yourself up, ask for forgiveness and you’ll recover. I highly recommend you listen to me now.

The only question I have is why isn’t # 1 son attending Phillips Andover? Going to a public school and then leaving the country for college coming from an Asian family, so confusing. What would Charlie Chan say about this?
Confucius has said, “A wise man question himself, a fool, others.” (Charlie Chan in City in Darkness)
    That works!

  • Nancy Earley Wright
    April 17, 2018 at 12:08 pm

As everyone else has pointed out, these kids being who they are (at this point in time) is punishment enough. At 10:45 a.m. yesterday, in response to someone else’s advice to “wait and see” what unfolded, encouraging others to “trust” in due process, a house wife put a yoga ball on the porch, in order to say “Nope.” It was a cheeky, peaceful protest, and you know what? That ball bounced around discussion-wise in the kind of intelligent, measured, heartfelt, kid-and-justice-loving-dialogue that any township would be proud of. Together, we served up justice and a resounding “We got you” to who needed it, like a short order cook. It was a family affair all around. We also served up a round of dunce caps to those who deserved them, along with a stern warning: “Never again.” It was a class act (IMHO.) So I respectfully request, in the interest of this teachable moment, that you not ruin it by gloating over the win with ugly name calling, racial slurs, or suggestions to stuff either kid in the toilets (which are located in bathrooms unfit for humans according to my own kid, but that’s a fight for another day.) They have assassinated their own 18-year-old-character by the power of their own pen, (or keypad) with no help from us. They are the Bill Buttkis and Monica Lewinsky of misfortune and naivte. Being 18 years old is a temporary condition. Let them sort out their own salvation. The best punishment would be having to write an essay on what they learned. They earned their place on the bench, let’s see if the powers that be can help them earn their way back by EDUCATING them, like educators. (Thanks for the listen 😉 )

Nancy well written and well worded, almost clever, statement. But, this article isn’t about 18 year old volleyball players. It’s about the crazy, disconnected parents that make said volleyball players feel as entitled as they do. And of course, the nutjob, bench riding administrators who back them up. This whole situation is a completely backwards version of Revenge Of The Nerds.

  • Kanacke Hasser
    April 17, 2018 at 10:59 am

Hey, if moonbats want to let kids like David Hogg run their show, let them. That whole agenda is like one big joke that they don’t get. These kids don’t know how life works, they’re just barely able to vote, they’re spoiled, everything is paid for them, and their whining gets undeserved audience. I’m not saying anything about guns. I’m saying they’re completely out of their league. If they keep this up, the Republicans will continue to have Congress and the Presidency in the pocket until they stop the idiocy, which is probably never, and that’s fine with me.

    • Nancy Wright
      April 18, 2018 at 11:37 am

To your point Richard, this has been going on for WAY too long, and I think the parents are indeed the culprit. A good walloping is by all means in order to the “Not My Kid” parents who are immune to correction, and repeatedly challenge authority on behalf of their children. A local cop that dedicates himself to fighting the war on drugs told me a while back: “You know what the number one challenge I face is-trying to save these kids? ANDOVER PARENTS who won’t GET HONEST.” I just hate to see it being characterized as an “Asian thing” when the lesson would do a broader audience a lot of good.

I played high school football and I was certainly no star. Just a guy who went to practice every day and tried hard. I hated my coach with a passion, but I gave him the utmost respect because he was the coach. I whiffed on a block in a game and I got completely dressed down in front of the whole team and fans. It sucked. Know what I did? I went to the sidelines and got pissed at myself and told myself I’d never let that happen again and I’d do my job. In my wildest dreams could never have imagined just defying him and telling him I wasn’t going to come out. Simply crazy.

He put me back in the next series and I played well and all was forgotten and we all moved on.

  • z
    April 17, 2018 at 7:51 am

That’s it? The kid, not you.

I’m at a lose for words. Everything in the article from “Matt is “on your side” too…….” on is exactly what I would have said.

The fact that the parents of these tools are silent really says something.

It’s one thing to plead your case with your coach to stay in (pitchers when the manager goes to the mound) . It’s another thing to be a whiney little bitch.

My nephew was a star on his HS football team – offensive line man. More than a couple of times he was pulled because he was doing something the coach didn’t like. The team has amassed a lot of State of PA state championships over the decades. Coach was there for years. Kid ended up with a full scholarship to a Div I football (top 25 to 40) program. The coach went out of his way to showcase my nephew to colleges and universities.

I’d ask the nephew “Why were you pulled?” “Because what I was doing wasn’t getting it done”.

Sitting this kid (and my nephew) wasn’t personal. Playing the game is business. The coach was
making his/her best business decision at the time. The fact that you won by ignoring this business decision is immaterial. By breaking the chain of command, if there are no repercussions, games further down the road will be compromised. The coach doesn’t hate you (you are a Capitan on the team), it’s just business.

What’s sadder than these 2 is the parents of these 2.

    April 17, 2018 at 6:49 am

Uncoachable kids, like these self-important nozzles, are just a symptom of the disease.

Entitlement, no sense of shame, unchecked egos, and mouths that lack any form of restraint are a direct result of parenting. Someone allowed/encouraged these kids to believe that they are more important than they are. They were built up, insulated, and shielded from the reality that the Sun does not rise and set in their asses. Parents did this. Parents stroked their egos and fed them with false realities, and now these two punks are unleashed into the world for society to deal with.

This shit has real consequences. This coach now finds himself in a miserable situation because two self-entitled pussies were never told “no” by their helicopter parents.

Raise your kids right, folks. The world is already full of little twats; we don’t need any more.
