Does this Red Cross poster seem racist to you?
If you said no, then congratulations because you’re a big racist. Let’s check out why from the Huffington Post:
The American Red Cross has issued an official apology after one of its pool safety posters, which some are calling racist, was posted to social media. The poster in question aims to teach children how to follow the rules at a swimming pool. However, it appears to only label white children as behaving in ways that are “cool,” while children of color are depicted as behaving in ways that are “not cool,” which includes one child shoving another into the water.
“The American Red Cross appreciates and is sensitive to the concerns raised regarding one of the water safety posters we produced,” the organization said in an apology published Monday. “We deeply apologize for any misunderstanding, as it was absolutely not our intent to offend anyone. After seeing the poster displayed at two different pools in Colorado, Margaret Sawyer, who was traveling through the area, requested that one of them be removed, NBC affiliate KUSA reported.
“I saw this one and I just kept thinking, ‘It looks like they’re trying to do something here that shows all kids together of all different backgrounds but they’re clearly not hitting the mark,” Sawyer told KUSA.
The Red Cross has since ceased production of the poster, removed it from their website and mobile Swim App, and requested that any facilities that have the poster displayed take it down. “As one of the nation’s oldest and largest humanitarian organizations, we are committed to diversity and inclusion in all that we do, every day,” Red Cross said in their apology.
Still, Ebony Rosemond, founder of Black Kids Swim, an online resource for black swimmers, feels that the organization’s official statement is insufficient. Rosemond told The Washington Post that African Americans have long faced discrimination at pools and beaches, adding that there are not many regulation-sized pools for swimming or diving in black neighborhoods. She also said that images like the one published by Red Cross could discourage young black people from swimming in public pools, KUSA reported.
“In connection with the lack of images showing African Americans excelling in swimming, the poster doesn’t make you feel welcome — it suggests to a black child that you’re not welcome here,” Rosemond told the Washington Post. “We want to restate that that apology is insufficient,” Rosemond added. “And their system for creating and evaluating material needs to be looked at, and they need to be extremely diligent to make sure that every poster is taken down.”
Like we told Justin Timberlake last yesterday, you have to stop trying to cater to social justice warriors, because it’s never, ever enough. Obviously there is nothing remotely racist about this poster. Obviously. But of course the Red Cross had to bow to the forces of political correctness, apologize, and take all the harmless posters down. And even that wasn’t enough because social justice warriors deemed it “insufficient.”
Newsflash – if you looked at that poster and saw racism, then you’re the racist one. Because your mind is consumed with race 24/7. On top of that you will notice that two of the kids who are “not cool” are clearly white:
But I guess organizations like the Red Cross should run every single cartoon document they produce out to the SJW police to make sure they approve it first.
Here’s my question – what was the appropriate ratio of black kids to white kids who should be misbehaving? There are eight white people in that pool and eight black people. Four of the black people are not cool, and two of the white people are not cool. So does it have to be three and three? How bout if four white kids are not cool and two black kids aren’t? Would that be OK? Or do all the black kids have to be behaving in this cartoon poster designed to teach kids how to behave at the pool? Let me know when the SJW mafia has reached their decision.
Ya know who this whole poster is offensive to? Muslims. Look at all that skin the girls are showing. And what about Asians? Don’t see many of them. Where are the Mexicans at? Did Trump draw this poster? Is the Red Cross suggesting that Asians don’t like to swim? And what about sexism? Anyone else notice that almost all of the people breaking the rules are boys? See, finding a way to take offense to everything is fun!
Anyway, the best part is when white social justice warriors start chiming in to show the radicals that they’re one of the good ones. And there’s no better place to find these people than the Huffington Posts’s comment section….
Ya see that? This is why we’re voting for Trump. Because America can’t take four more years of a leader whose supporters feed into this sort of PC bullshit. Any dude who has a Hillary backdrop on Facebook should have their man card permanently revoked.
Hey everyone look at Michelle Miller!! She’s so worldly and diverse. She has tons of black friends so she understands them better than anyone else. And there’s nothing racist about a white person generalizing the feelings of all black people. Nothing at all!!! She’s one of the good ones!!
Except the kid who is diving is breaking a pretty basic pool rule – you don’t dive while someone else is in the diving area. Because the Red Cross was trying to teach kids to be safe but all dumb crackers like Lynn Stone sees is racism.
Translation – shut the fuck up George. Take your rational thought process elsewhere.
Yea, except two white kids were clearly labeled as “not cool.” SJW’s have to make up their own facts because everything they stand for is baseless and stupid.
The bottom line is that if you live in a country where a harmless poster like this is your biggest social issue of the day, then you don’t live in a racist country.
