Well it’s pretty clear by now that nothing and no one is safe from the hippie hatred of 2015. They appear to have reached another new low, as one of their leaders, Newsweek columnist and renowned hippie, Rick Perlstein has most recently directed his hatred at the American soldiers that served in the Vietnam War.
Perlstein has emphatically demanded that all of the POW/MIA (representing American soldiers that were Prisoners Of War or Missing In Action) flags be taken down in the US, claiming they are all offensive and racist. In his extremely hate-filled article in Newsweek, Perlstein rants uncontrollably about what the flag “really” means and what it represents in his disturbed mind.
Funny, during Perlstein’s entire vicious rant, he rarely mentions any actual Prisoners of War or credits or even speaks of any American soldiers themselves, but did manage to throw in a dig against Donald Trump.
The article begins with this paragraph –
You know that racist flag? The one that supposedly honors history but actually spreads a pernicious myth? And is useful only to venal right-wing politicians who wish to exploit hatred by calling it heritage? It’s past time to pull it down.
Oh, wait. You thought I was referring to the Confederate flag. Actually, I’m talking about the POW/MIA flag.
It really only gets more offensive from there. I shudder to think what an American Vietnam vet or even worse, a former POW would say after reading this Newsweek piece and subsequently meeting Perlstein face to face.
If the hippies keep having their way this year, by 2016 there will be no flags of any kind left.

I read the article. I stand by my post.
Did any of you actually read the article? It said nothing about putting down the Vets and soldiers. It was giving the history of where the flag came from and the hypocrisy of the Governmernt. Mr Perlstein knows his stuff though he shouldn’t have used the word Racist he did apologize at the end of the article for offending so many who misread his article. So many opinions here that are negative based on not even reading or looking further into what this was all about. But then again, America loves that short sighted spin.

It’s not and Perlstein wrote an addendum to the article admitting that he should not have used that word. You should read the article to fully understand what he is trying to say. Small government folks would probably agree with his point of view.
I happened to listen to a little of the Jordan Levy show yesterday afternoon and some Turtleboy reader who is clearly not very bright, got on to spout off about how the “hippies” are calling the POW/MIA flag racist and when Jordan asked him to elaborate all he could do was sputter and keep repeating the word, “hippies. ”

I was told when I visited Metz in 2005 that are still finding body parts and working to identify them. They recently found a group of 30 marines on one of the islands in the Pacific and brought them hom.
