WWLP: The Greenfield Police Department will be posting photos of registered Level 3 sex offenders on their Facebook page every day. A single mother, who declined to go on camera, told 22News there are other ways to inform the public. “But I do believe that it’s a form of invasion of privacy, and lately, the police departments have been putting too much information on Facebook,” said Sarah Williams of Turners Falls.
Sex offenders have to register with the Sex Offender Registry Board. By law, the police department is required to release certain information on sex offenders; that information includes, the offender’s description, age, crime and address. Greenfield Town Councilor Penny Ricketts said, “This is an important issue, especially because Level 3 (sex offenders) are more likely to reoffend, so I think it’s a smart move.”
Sex offenders are classified in groups, based on their likelihood of reoffending. The Registry Board determines the level of risk and groups sex offenders in levels; 3 being the highest risk. Level 1 sex offenders are categorized as low risk, while Level 2 have a moderate chance of reoffending. The Greenfield Police Department said on their Facebook page they will post photos of all Level 3 offenders, until the last one is posted.
Seriously, we will pay any amount of money for whatever people in the Greenfield area smoke on a regular basis. Because it really makes you think and say some crazy things. We’re talking about child molesters here right? Like, people who diddled kids? I thought we could all agree that this was the one type of criminal that it was OK to come down hard on. We’re not talking about the guy who robbed a liquor store to feed his starving family or the junkie who shoplifted to feed his habit. We’re talking about the guy who downloading kiddie porn and eyeing out his next victim.
In all honestly, I do feel a little bad for child molesters. They obviously have a sickness. Louie CK said it best on Saturday Night Live:
It’s true. Like, if you know something will send you to jail for a long time, and you know you’ll become a social pariah, and you do it anyway, you must really, really wanna do it. We all like pizza, and we really want pizza, but we know that if we eat pizza every day then the consequence is that we’re gonna get fat. Yet so many people can’t resist that urge. But if you molest kids you’re going to jail forever and everyone hates you. Yet people still do it!! That’s a pretty powerful urge right there. They must really, really like it. I can’t help but feel bad for anyone born with those sort of urges. And it’s not like those urges just go away. That’s why it’s important to know who has diddler tendencies in your town. Pretty simple concept.
And in all honesty, I think we already knew something was up with this guy:
And we could totally picture this lady being the town drunk who just wanted to add some 13 year old’s v-card to her trophy mantle:
But for whatever reason Franklin County seems to have no shortage of hippies who think like this:
God these people are crazy. Yea, let’s get to know the diddler, what could possibly go wrong? First of all, this information is all publicly available so who cares if the Greenfield PD posts publicly available information on their Facebook page? Don’t you hippies want the police to better communicate with the people? Isn’t that what a big part of the black lives matter protests were about? Oh that’s right, just like ACLU the only people that hippies like Sandi go to bat for are people who attack cops and diddle children. Got it.

These public listings are a waste of time and give the public a false sense of security. Reality is most sex offenders are likely going to be found at the family cookout not on some website.
Don’t forget to hug ISIS too. #allweneedislove
Hell, in Webster one of the three public access channels shows the information on level 3 diddlers on a loop. It’s like PedoVision.
I wonder, do these people think posting photos of wanted felons and escaped convicts pictures at the Post Office is wrong, too?
Also, I guess Congress St. in Greenfield would be a great place to raise kids, (NOT) with these two living there!!
some towns post these offenders pics on all telephone poles near where these loony’s work and live warning people, and all around local schools in their town.
It’s part of the punishment, if they don’t accept this, either stay in prison or move.
It’s not unusual, it’s part of the price of being free, level 3 is “very high risk of re-offending”
We might have a level 3 sex offender for a First Lady, vote for Hilliary if your cool with diddlers.
Completely agree that these people should be identified and posted – in fact school teachers should be given paperwork of each one in the community, etc. After all, Level 3 is classified as “highly likely to re-offend”.
My only question would be using Facebook as the medium – has the town legal team vetted the privacy and ownership agreements with Facebook? Or is this some police dept intern’s ‘good idea’? Just not sure given Facebook’s user agreements it’s a good idea to put legal information like this up there – could open it up to a lawsuit.
I don’t think there’s a problem with legality. These people have been convicted. The record is public. States have sex offender registry sites that anyone can access at anytime to find out who’s in your neighborhood. I know for a fact that I have 2 level 3 offenders living about a block away from me. One was convicted of rape of a 7 year-old and the other was convicted of rape of an 11 year-old & possession of child pornography. Guess who I keep my eye out for when I take a walk with my son?
May be time to consider moving?
Here is a thought, why not let these offenders move in next to you if your so concerned about their feeling being hurt. Level 3 offenders have no place in any community. They belong in prison in gen pop so they can really feel some of the pain the inflicted.
They need to get stoned more, at least they would be quiet and docile. Hippie influence never died, some thought it died in the disco-era around 78, not true !
“Good opportunity to welcome them to the community.”
She can’t be serious. The only way I’m ‘welcoming’ a Level 3 sex offender to my community is at the end of a shotgun. They’ll know never to get close to me and mine. I don’t even care what the recidivism rate is. One time is too many.
What is wrong with people?
Did the stupid people who criticized the GPD even read the Facebook page? If they had, they’d know that police will post Level 3 sex offenders ONCE a year. ONCE. A year. Get over it.
