Telegram and GazetteA group of leaders of color will make a public statement Tuesday in support of North High School and Superintendent Melinda J. Boone

The group, which includes faith-based leaders, educators, activists, youth workers, cultural groups and multiservice organizations, has been meeting weekly since January to discuss how it can address what the group described in a statement Monday as community needs for all residents in the city.

Keesha LaTulippe, a member of the group, said it has been informally referring to itself as the “Coming Together Collective.”

The group will make the public statement at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the YWCA, 1 Salem Square.

The group said it has become concerned about ongoing issues at North High and what it described as inflammatory comments made about children by the general public.

Students of color make up 60 percent of the city’s public school population, and 70 percent of Worcester school students come from low-income backgrounds, according to the group. There are 1,350 students at North.

North High and Ms. Boone have been at the center of meetings and public debate regarding recent violent incidents that have resulted in subsequent proposals for increased police presence, video surveillance that will be accessible to police, and other changes at the school.

The group said it requested a meeting with Melinda Boone, North High Principal Lisa Dyer, Mayor Joseph M. Petty, and City Manager Edward M. Augustus Jr. The group said it will make a public statement Tuesday regarding its assessment of that meeting, which Ms. LaTulippe said was held Thursday, and its recommendations to the superintendent.

A parent of a North High School student also will speak, Ms. LaTulippe said, and she noted that included in support of North High School is support for its teachers.

It was only a matter of time folks. You knew this was coming didn’t you? The hippies have been silent for wayyyyy too long. They literally LIVE to protest. This is what they do, and I for one am shocked that it took them this long. The best part is they’re making this statement at 1:30 PM. Because of course none of them will be at work.

I cannot WAIT to see what this big announcement is because there is a 150 million% chance that it’s gonna be some great material to work with. Think of what we’ve got here. Keesha Latulippe is one of Worcester’s Top 5 MVP protesters. The thing is she’s from Southbridge though, or so she said last time she spoke at a City Council meeting. So naturally she feels the need to chime in on Worcester’s public schools. After all, the superintendent isn’t white. Therefore it’s her business.

Because literally, there is NO REASON for ANYONE to support this superintendent. This is a woman who readily admits she NEVER speaks with Police Chief Gary Gemme or Safety Liason officer Rob Pezzella. There are literally dozens of identified gangs in this city that the police know better than anyone. They have kids in every high school in this city. Always have, always will. And for whatever reason she doesn’t see the need to communicate with the people who know the ins and outs of Worcester gangs and can identify their colors, signs, and members for the schools to keep an eye on in order to protect the safety of everyone.

Folks, that’s just incompetence. Plain and simple. But evidently if you are not white you are exempt from criticism. Got it.

Just look who is involved in this group and try to figure out who will be included:

1. Faith-based leaders – AKA ministers who fit a certain demographic.

2. Educators – Professor Sonya Conner

3. Youth workers – Unemployed losers like Julius Jones who have named themselves “Youth Workers” because they volunteered one time at Friendly House.

4. Cultural groups – Anyone who isn’t white.

5. Multiservice organizations – Robert Blackwell-Gibbs.

They can call it “Coming Together Collective.” But we all know it’s the same nudniks that blocked Kelley Square and Lincoln Square. These morons think they get to dictate the conversation. But they don’t. That’s the whole purpose of this blog. To let losers like this know that they don’t run this city. Just because they’re the loudest and they’ve appointed themselves as some sort of legitimate organization doesn’t mean they actually are. They’re losers like Robert Blackwell-Gibbs who collect unemployment for years, write “FUCK THE POLICE” on Facebook, and then expect to be taken seriously and professionally.

And who do you think they’re talking about with this?

The group said it has become concerned about ongoing issues at North High and what it described as inflammatory comments made about children by the general public.

Because I bet you a million bucks they’re defending the 15 year old who got shot at the Quality Inn and started bragging on Twitter about what a soldier he was. I mean, that’s right up their alley right? Defending dooshnozzles like that kid and his savage behavior enabling mother?

This was the part that really pissed me off though:

The group said it requested a meeting with Ms. Boone, North High Principal Lisa Dyer, Mayor Joseph M. Petty, and City Manager Edward M. Augustus Jr. The group said it will make a public statement Tuesday regarding its assessment of that meeting, which Ms. LaTulippe said was held Thursday, and its recommendations to the superintendent.

So let me get this straight. These dingleberries got a private meeting with the superintendent, the Mayor, the North High Principal, and the City Manager, but Boone won’t let anyone into the North High safety meeting/pizza party unless they’re parents of students? When do we get our private pizza party meeting with those big wigs?

Oh yea, and tell me more about how you dolts are qualified to “recommend” anything to the superintendent? How long have you been teachers? Have you paid the $55 to be fingerprinted and work with these kids? Have you passed the MTEL? Have you gotten your Master’s Degree in education? No? So why the fuck would you possibly think that your opinion on how schools should be run matters at all? I don’t know how to change my oil, but I guess that means it shouldn’t stop me from going down to Young’s Garage and telling them how they can fix cars better.

Last but not least was this gem:

“Ms. LaTulippe said, and she noted that included in support of North High School is support for its teachers.”

No, you don’t support teachers Keesh baby. You can’t have it both ways. The teachers at North High stand unequivocally against this superintendent who has endangered them repeatedly. You don’t get to say that you support the teachers and Boone in the same sentence. The two are mutually exclusive. At the meeting one of these boobs got up there and said the same thing and teachers clapped. And that’s one of my beefs with teachers – you’re always falling for some bullshit.

Don’t let these morons fool you. They don’t support you. They support one thing and one thing alone – their own whiny agenda. That’s it. It’s all they know how to do is complain. Can’t wait to see their statement at 1:30.

Clive is just mad that the NY Times packed up shop, left and didn’t take him with them. Same as Ditzy Diane Williamson.

I attended this and saw the badgering Yank spoke about. This the actual manifestation of what they’re calming the WPD does daily. I sadly lost all interest in the cause.

I went to this meeting. It’s disheartening to see how misguided the Leaders of Color are about the problems at North High School. Based on what I heard today, unless they are able to step back from Boone and look at the issues objectively, they are sure to make matters worse.

While I was having a private conversation with someone before the event began, Clive walked in and overheard what I was saying, totally took it out of context and asked for my name. I refused to give it to him, telling him that I don’t agree with what he writes.

    Then the speakers began.

When someone irresponsibly spoke the name of a past School Committee member as the mother of Turtleboy to out him, I questioned why they had to bring her up, being that she has nothing to do with anything being spoken or written. If in fact she really is Turtleboy’s mother, you’re going to out someone through their mother? That’s wrong in my book. Anyway… after I made that comment, the man in front of me turned around and looked at me in a menacing and threatening manner and told me to shut my mouth, not once, but a few times. Then kept turning around to glare at me.

As soon as things wrapped up, Clive came over to me demanding my name, telling me that he pays my salary and that I teach his children. As he was badgering me, continuing to demand my name I was encircled by a few other angry men that didn’t like that I spoke out in defense of the mother who has nothing to do with anything going on at the event. I was extremely uncomfortable and I was a little concerned for my safety. These were some angry men who did not like that I did not agree with how this organization was going about business. I felt like I was going to be lynched. Clive didn’t stop there. when one of the speakers whom I’ve worked with and known for over 20 years came to speak to me, Clive began badgering her for my name. When I requested that she not tell him, he went on to ask other people if they knew my name. All of this because he heard me say something out of context that he didn’t like. I guess I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to see if he has any shred of journalistic integrity.

Bad on the comments and behaviors that I witnessed this event, I am sad to say that this issue with North High School and Boone’s poor handling of it has clearly turned into as race issue.

Imagine that. You went to this meeting and was presented with menacing attitudes and all those things that Clive claims WPD does to minorities. Odd how its ok when he does it huh?

      Hypocrites. One and all.

Dont you know you are supposed to drink the Kool Aid they brought there and not to bring your own? People like Clive and his band of race hucksters dont have time or patients for open minds and independent thought.

Real Yank – as a suggestion, consider a written complaint to the editor of the T&G. When’d confronted with Clive’s behavior, he should at least look into it. His behavior sounds threatening and intimidating – is this how the T&G gathers news?

The protesters are back!!! That means that winter is finally over, because not a single one of these people would ever stand out in the cold for what they claim are life and death issues.

More on the bright side: maybe they will chain themselves to a barrel on 290. Ms. Boone would be wise not to let herself get defined by these no gooders. She is heading in the right direction by agreeing to a police presence and thus admitting she didn’t get it right after all.

Otherwise, these losers will chain her to something even worse than a barrel on a highway:complete irrelevance.

Totally what some call “reverse racism” which is really just flat out racism. Supporting someone simply because of their race while ignoring their poor performance and results is just as racist as discriminating against someone for their race who has a history of good performance, or not giving them the chance to perform. It’s also racists to call someone racists for being critical of a persons performance who happens to be of a certain race. You’re also hurting your cause and taking away from real race issues.

I love to complain too though. More power to someone if they can do that. Agree, disagree, love him, hate him. Doesn’t matter. Turtleboy is a professional douche, basically. I’d rather be that than a lot of other things.
