Hippies Hold Press Conference To Call Turtleboy Racist

You know you’re a threat to the status quo when the social justice warriors call a press conference for the sole purpose of encouraging people to stop reading Turtleboy Sports. That actually happened today. Lindsay Corcoran reported in Masslive.com about a meeting held by some sort of group called “Coming Together Collective. We’ll break down what she wrote in italics, and then respond in bold. Here is the article:

First of all, before we go any further, we obviously need to address this:

11026035_760957420685186_2773141310394508083_n

I’m not gonna lie, I respect the shit out of Brenda Jenkins for busting out the Urkel glasses. That’s a power move right there. I’d say it’s 1-0 protesters right now after that start. Touche hippies. Touche.

Masslive.com: After saying the violence at North High School has been blown out of proportion by local bloggers and politicians, a group of parents and community members are calling for the removal of police at the school.

“This is my son’s school, not a prison,” said David Jerry, the parent of a North High School student. “We need more than just a badge and a gun inside the school.”

OK, stop right there. First of all, correction officers in prisons don’t carry guns. Terrible analogy. But more importantly David Jerry, if your son is a good kid, which I’m sure he is, then the police are there to PROTECT him. Because that’s why police exist. To PROTECT us from bad guys. And at North, a small handful of bad guys have punched four principals in the face this year and have contributed to an environment in which STUDENTS and teachers feel unsafe.

And guess what Davey? The students WANT the police there. That’s why STUDENTS created a petition, signed by over half the kids who were in attendance that day, to have a police officer in the building. The only kids that don’t want cops there are kids who have something to gain by the police not being there.

Like we’ve said a million times before, cops in schools isn’t some new thing. Wachusett, Shrewsbury, and Shepherd Hill all have police in the building. So do schools in Boston. And guess what? It helps. Students build POSITIVE relationships with the police, so that way they don’t see police as oppressors, but rather as human beings with families who are there to protect and serve their communities.

But I guess it’s not really surprising David Jerry feels this way. Just look at his Facebook. Coming Together Collective probably should’ve done some basic research before choosing their spokesperson. Luckily that’s what we’re good at here – doing actual research. Here’s some stuff he’s got on his page:

He seems…..nice. He also shared this video

Screen Shot 2015-03-17 at 9.16.36 PM Screen Shot 2015-03-17 at 9.16.46 PM

It’s the video of a person the police are trying to arrest beating the shit out of two police officers who refuse to use weapons to take him down. It’s a wonder that some police officers feel compelled to use their weapons to defend themselves though. Here watch it:

Savage. Absolute savage. Knocking a police officer out with one punch simply because he thought he was above the law and couldn’t be arrested. All while the camera guy yells “fuck the police.” David Jerry promotes this. David Jerry is a person we’re supposed to take seriously. Someone who thinks it’s OK to literally knock a police officer out. Excellent choice Coming Together Collective.

He gave us a lot of other reasons to treat him like a legitimate person who is fit to dictate safety policies in public schools too:

Lovely. All about you. That was 26 days ago. An “I don’t give a fuck attitude. It’s all about me.” Tell me more about your thoughts on educational planning.

Screen Shot 2015-03-17 at 9.18.51 PM

Good for you.

Then he shared this video too:

Screen Shot 2015-03-17 at 9.20.44 PM

What are they chanting in this video?

“Fuck the police.” That sounds like a constructive way to enact social change. Strong start Coming Together Collective. Strong.

A group of leaders from religious, educational, youth group and cultural organizations in the city, calling itself the Coming Together Collective, put forth its own solutions for violence at the school during a press conference Tuesday.

“We propose that Worcester public School’s focus on identifying the root causes that have contributed to the cultural climate of the school and has led to the perception that North High School is unsafe,” said Joyce McNickles, a former teacher at the high school and current social justice educator.

“Identify the root causes that have contributed to the cultural climate of the school and has led to the perception that North High School is unsafe.” AKA have an open-ended conversation that ultimately leads nowhere and changes nothing. That’s what that means. I Love the use of the word “perception” too. Because apparently when four principals are savagely attacked by students and one high school has more 9-1-1 calls than the rest of the city’s secondary schools combined, this is only a “perception” of an unsafe environment.

And please, tell me more about what you propose Joyce McNickles. We should definitely take a rational person like you seriously. After all, this is the same woman who said that we weren’t focusing enough on Martin Luther King’s violent side, and actually applauded the human garbage that blocked I-93 and directly threatened the safety of patients who couldn’t get to the hospital for emergencies and chemotherapy treatment.

The Coming Together Collective has been meeting since January and made this announcement after meeting with Superintendent Melinda Boone and other school and city officials last week.

Oh good, Dr. Boone won’t answer parents questions at North High or meet with the teachers to hear their concerns, but she’ll meet with these mentally stable, rational, self-appointed, unelected community leaders. Solid leadership from the top once again. I guess it’s not surprising from a superintendent who just the other day bragged about how she’s good at getting white teachers fired. I’m shocked that such a racial divide is occurring under her administration. Shocked.

People want Melinda Boone gone because she’s associating herself and having secret meetings with people like David Jerry. People who think it’s appropriate to promote violence against the police. This is who the LEADER of thousands of schoolchildren and educators has CHOSEN to align herself with.

The group called for training parent liaisons or bringing in youth workers rather than stationing a police officer at the school full time. They also don’t believe surveillance cameras should be used at the school.

Bringing in “youth workers” huh? Tell me more about what the youth workers will do the next time a student punches a principal in the face? Sit with them in bean bag chairs, sip hot cocoa, and talk about their problems? Bring unlicensed, inexperienced people like Julius Jones into schools so they can brainwash the next generation to hate cops just as much as they do?

And please, let’s talk more about your opposition to surveillance cameras. Because literally every school in America has surveillance cameras now. So does every store in America. The second you leave your house you’re on camera. Go on Google Earth. There are literally pictures of people jogging. But yet, we shouldn’t have cameras in a school where 1,350 “kids” aged 14-21 from all different walks of life are intermingling together for 7 hours a day? Makes sense.

“Research has shown that the more encounters young people have with the police, the more opportunities for unnecessary arrests and involvement with the juvenile justice system,” McNickles said.

Wait……what?? So the more times that kids come in contact with the police the more times they get arrested? That’s like saying the more interaction kids have with cars the more often they get in car accidents. No shit sherlock. Of course you’re not gonna get arrested if the police are never around. Obviously. But guess what? If you’re not breaking any laws then you’re not getting arrested. What a novel concept!!

Other suggestions included working with communities of color more to come up with solutions and discouraging school personnel from posting comments on social media that could “perpetuate racial bias against students of color.”

There it is again North teachers. Coming Together Collective just called you out for using your right to free speech on the Facebook machine. Didn’t you get the memo? Everything you say has to be approved by this woman:

11026035_760957420685186_2773141310394508083_n

Everything.

And please, tell me more about how schools should work with “communities of color” to come up with solutions. Hey I have an idea, why don’t we just work with communities of all colors? Or does the input of whitey not count? See this pisses me off because it’s making the extremely racist assumption that all people of color think the same way. Believe it or not there are African-American people who trust the police and want their kids to be protected at school. Are they part of this “community of color” or is it a group that is exclusive to people who hate police and want to censor teacher’s first amendment rights on Facebook?

While they raised these concerns with the school safety plan at North High School, those at the press conference said they stand by Boone.

Shocking.

Keesha LaTulippe, a local activist who helped organize this group, said they organized the press conference because they felt only one voice was being heard in the public discussion of the issues at North High School.

Oh we heard ya alright Keesh Casserole. We heard you loud and clear when you quarantined Lincoln Square. We heard you when you hijacked two city council meetings because the council had the audacity to support the police. We definitely hear you. We’re just ignoring you because what you’re saying is really, really stupid.

“Many of us in the community share a deep concern for the urgent and ongoing needs at North High School and have been incredibly alarmed by the inflammatory comments being made about our children by the general public,” said Maritza Cruz, a local activist who spoke at the meeting.

Oh good, another “activist.” Can I be one too? Actually, I’m just gonna start calling myself that, because apparently that’s all you have to do to earn that title. But guess what Maritza? No one’s making inflammatory comments about your kids. Unless of course your kid is one of those little angels who punched a principal in the face. Perhaps we should’ve said nicer things about how they were expressing themselves culturally? Would that meet your approval?

Others at the press conference called out City Councilor Michael Gaffney and local blog Turtleboy Sports by name for making inflammatory comments — saying that they are “exploiting” the students of North High School for personal gain.

“Exploiting.” AKA exposing a problem.

“He’s just grabbing the opportunity to grandstand,” said McNickles of Gaffney, citing his run for mayor.

1. Welcome to politics JOYCE.

2. Councillor Gaffney is grabbing the opportunity because it’s the right thing to do. Imagine the audacity of a politician using his position of leadership to try to protect children and teachers from a bunch of kids who endanger them on a daily basis. What a jerk whistle!!

Brenda Jenkins, president and CEO of the Mosaic Cultural Complex, called for parents and teachers to stop supporting Turtleboy Sports.

Hey I have an idea Brenda. How about people read what they wanna read? How bout that? We get that YOU don’t like it, which is fine. But why are you so obsessed with policing what other people read in their free time? Instead of policing what teachers and parents are reading, why not start policing parents who are raising kids who think it’s OK to attack teachers and principals? Did it ever occur to you that there’s a REASON people read Turtleboy Sports? That maybe we have over 10,000 followers on social media because we actually have a fucking point?? Ever think about that? Nah, because you’re always right and we’re always wrong.

“We have local bloggers that are actually putting derogatory statements about minority children and calling them savages,” Jenkins said. “How offensive is that? And some Worcester Public School teachers are supporting this kind of garbage.”

Hey Brenda, your first sentence there is 100% correct except for when you added “minority.” Take that out and you’re right on. We do call ANYONE who thinks it’s OK to punch a principal, or declare Jihad on a school bus driver, a “savage.” Because they are displaying “savage” behavior. And guess what? Of the students who have punched administrators this year, not a single one of them is black. Are YOU assuming they’re black? Because assuming that only black students are capable of displaying such behavior seems to be pretty racist to me.

And you’re right, teachers are supporting our blog. Because unlike you, we actually give a shit about their health and safety. We actually DEMAND a safe environment where learning can take place. And we demand it NOW. Not five months from now after the “youth workers” have some nice conversations over pink lemonade with troubled youths.

Teachers are constantly being attacked by politicians who want their livelihoods tied to standardized test scores of students whose parents are people like David Jerry and the Busgate Clan. They’re constantly having more things added to their plate, such as mandatory finger printing, which they have to pay for. (Do 20 year old sophomores have to be fingerprinted too? What if they’re convicted criminals?) They’re constantly told that they’re not good enough after investing so much time, money, and love into their student’s lives.

And we stand up for them. You don’t. That’s why they read Turtleboy Sports and they will continue to. Because WE are the real voice of the community. We just don’t have a fancy name like “Coming Together Collective.” Don’t think you’re fooling anyone for a second though. We know you don’t give a shit about bringing people together. You only care about yourselves and your selfish agenda. The jig is up. Has been for a while.

Honestly, the use of “savage”in these blog hasn’t been used on one particular race or just minority groups been used on anyone who acts in an uncivilized manner so I don’t take it as racist as certain people claim with comments I have read online. I don’t like racism and prejudices, but I also don’t like people reaching to find racism where there isn’t with an opinion and/or prejudices for that matter.

Wow! These people crazy and boarderline conspiratorial the way they talk. Plus, great time to hold a press conference, during the day when the rest of the world was working and contributing to society! Wouldn’t want anyone to show up with an opposing viewpoint and ask a question or two, now would we? Not like you can count the media to ask a probing question, which is why Turtleboy is more relevant than T&G, Masslive, Globe, etc. They’re going to do a wonderful job of getting Counselor Gaffney elected Mayor.

You mean Joyce McNichols is all part of this”Coming together as long as you agree with us that racism is everywhere collective” and “We need a a culturally sensitive faculty” is the same Joyce who owns a “Diversity Training” business? The same Mrs McNichols who is married to known racist and hater Carlo Baldino from lily white Sutton? I thought all the people from the uppity suburbs couldn’t possibly understand “the struggle” in the city?

Me thinks there is some conflict of interest going on here. Someone jumping on the race wagon in order to make a few bucks?

I think TB could/should look into this a little further.
