Fox 31 Denver: Jeanette Vizguerra, a mother of four, was scheduled to check in with Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents Wednesday morning. She wanted to extend the stay on her deportation order, which expired last week, while she continues the application process for a special visa. The extension was denied when she failed to show up for the meeting. Vizguerra faces separation from her American-born children, the youngest of whom is 6 years old. Vizguerra’s attorney, Hans Meyer, appeared in court for her, saying she probably would have been taken into custody if she appeared. She is taking sanctuary at the First Unitarian Society of Denver (1400 Lafayette St.) while she plans her next legal move.
People are probably not gonna agree with this and there’s gonna be a lot of whining about “libtard” Turtleboy, but I’m with the undocumented immigrant on this one. And tough shit if you don’t like it, because I’m right.
Turtleboy is 1,000% in favor of keeping America safe. We cannot have open borders. We have to know who people are in this country. We can’t have undocumented people in this country leeching off the system and not working. We cannot have people like Matthew Denice killed by random Ecuadorians who can’t be bothered to learn our language and assimilate into our culture. Undocumented immigrants who are anything less than perfect while they are here can go ahead and get the hell out of America.
But this broad has been here for 20 freaking years. She’s obviously not a threat to anyone. She has kids here and she’s never committed a REAL crime while she’s been here. And no, using a fake social security number SO YOU CAN GO TO WORK is hardly a crime. She’s not trying to leech off the government. She’s trying to work. Something millions of assholes who were fortunate enough to be born in this country choose not to do on a daily basis. She’s not selling food stamps on Facebook. She’s not getting in fights at the Auburn Mall. She’s not running GoFundMe scams. She’s not selling her WIC baby formula for heroin money. This is the kind of person we need more of, not less of.
Look, I don’t like sanctuary cities because the only people sanctuary cities protect are repeat offenders without documentation. But I don’t want ICE going around rounding up people who are clearly not a national security threat. People who we KNOW who they are and where they live. People who are working and paying taxes. People who have American children.
Riddle me this – what does America gain from this? Three American children don’t get to see their mother anymore. This is something we’re supposed to be proud of? This makes us safer? I get that we don’t want any more Matthew Denice situations. But the illegal immigrant who killed him is not even in the same universe as this woman. That guy an able bodied male with no kids who was doing NOTHING for this country. America gained nothing from him being here. And, he’s a piece of shit who drinks and drives and obviously doesn’t value human life. HE is a guy I could’ve got on board with for deportation. Getting rid of him HELPS America become safer, and Matthew Denice would still be alive. Getting rid of this chick doesn’t make America safer, so what’s the point?
Anyway, at the same time I feel like the mainstream media is once again being dishonest. How come I know this lady’s name but I don’t know the names of the scumbag illegals who are being deported? Because I think most reasonable people would agree that deporting scumbag illegal criminals is a good thing, right? But the media doesn’t point that out because it would show a positive side to Trump’s immigration policies. And they only want to show stories like this lady to make all deportations look bad.
The MSM is also being dishonest about another thing – these ICE raids have been going on for the last eight years as well. President Obama oversaw more deportations than any President in American history. But he apparently gets a pass because he’s Obama. Don’t recall seeing sob stories like this on CNN while Barry was in office. Just sayin.
All I’m saying is, illegal immigration is a complicated issue that can’t be fixed with blanket policies. Kicking them all out or building a wall isn’t a solution. Can’t we just pick our battles? If the goal is to keep America safe, then I’m down. Let’s keep America safe.
I feel like now would be the perfect time for Trump to come in and say, “This one can stay.” That would shut a lot of people up, especially considering how high profile this one particular woman has become. It would be a classic unpredictable, off-the-cuff move from Trump. Then he could brand himself like King Solomon and force the press to say nice things about him. And if they don’t, he could throw it right back in their face. Either way he wins, and America wins because three innocent kids don’t get forced away from their mother.

Someone that married into my family was brought here illegally as a child. This person has worked to learn the language, earned their green card and has a productive life and family here. This persons mother has not learned the language and cannot communicate with her grandchildren and has no desire to assimilate after 20 years. Even my family member will tell you this is a big fucking problem.
I mainly agree. She should have to pay a fine for coming here illegally & then file the paperwork to stay here. We have bigger fish to fry. We need to close the borders. It’s just simple logic.
1. Is this woman a criminal? Yes, she is. That’s not up for debate, she broke the law entering this country illegally.
2. Are we a country of laws? Yes, civil society requires laws and adherence to them.
3. Is a country a country if it has no borders? No, it’s not. A country ceases to be an entity when it ceases doing anything a sovereign nation would do, such as protecting its borders.
4. Did this woman do anything else other than come into this country illegally? Yes, she did. She created a false identity and a false Social Security number. The number of laws she broke there is in the dozens. Is it “hardly” a crime? No, it’s an actual crime. Even Attorney Vulva knows that.
5. Is she sympathetic? Sure, she looks like a National Geographic photo — proud, sad, humble. She’s likely a truly nice person that deserves our compassion.
6. Does compassion and kindness excuse her behavior? No. As human beings we should have compassion for her plight, and be kind to her. Kindness requires the ability to humbly help people understand. This woman needs to understand that she did, indeed, break the law. She did, indeed, break another law. She deserves personal kindness, and a bus back to her country. Because laws matter.
This is exactly the kind of case that can explain why we have borders and laws. Justice, as we know from the woman holding the scales, is blind. No one gets a pass just because we feel bad for them. By executing the laws faithfully, and blindly — that’s justice. It’s a very hard concept because people think the law is supposed to be “equitable” and “fair.” It’s not (unless you live in France, their law is based on equity, ours is not). The dichotomy is difficult, especially for a bony reptile, but it’s simple — you can have justice on the one hand, and compassion on the other.
Yes, you have an opinion — we all do. You just happen to be letting emotion and “fairness” get in the way. What you don’t see is that when you cross that bridge, the law fails and it’s just whatever anyone feels like.

Simple Solution. As much as many of the commenters here would like to see it, it’s impossible to round up 11 million people and “ship the back to where they came from.” No different than the gov’t confiscating the 300 millions guns in America. Now that’s out of the way, here’s how we do it.
1. Give an ultimatum- All 11 million illegals have “x” amount of time to declare themselves to the government of the United States. Collect all vital info on each enrollee.
2. Violent felons, sex offenders, etc get shipped back- no questions asked.
3. Start the citizenship process. All those with a documented, productive and consistent employment history and those who enlist in the armed forces, move to the front of the list.
4. Start enforcement of all those who are unenrolled at the end of the enrollment grace period. If you’re not enrolled, you’re gone. No exceptions.
5. Impose an extra payroll tax on all those who’ve lived here illegally in the past to pay back what they’ve soaked up illegally over the years.
6. All newly enrolled residents, will not be not eligible for public assistance of any kind. All public assistance will be accrued like sick time. Work “x” number of hrs or pay “y” in taxes, receive “z” months or dollars worth of assistance.
7. You refuse to get educated or employed, you’re gone.

I’m ok with this except for #3. No citizenship ever unless they return to their country of origin for a minimum of 1 year, then they can apply to immigrate like everyone else. No exceptions except if you volunteer for the military and serve honorably.
You can however depot all of them if you want, will take some time, but it can be done.
I’d be careful of letting too many illegals into the military for any reason. In a country’s takeover, the military controls the revolution.
Deporting all of them is not impossible. Difficult and costly – yes. Is it cheaper to deport than have them living off welfare, free health care, etc?

I’m sure people who are in good behavior and standing can have some special exceptions made, but if you fail to show up to these requested meetings then there’s not much more that can be done.

I recall visiting Italy in 2007. As we were waiting for the train to leave, my girlfriend and I were approached by a uniformed police officer while we were quietly sitting on our luggage. He asked for our passports. We produced them, then he took them and walked away to his police booth. He returned with them 5-minutes later and handed them back to us.
