So last week in Webster a local woman took these photographs of what she alleges is a mountain lion in her backyard. What do you think?

I mean, it’s believable I guess. After all, everyone knows there are plenty of cougars on the prowl in Webster. Most of them are working the day shift at Mario’s Showplace though. I’d estimate that 95% of Internet biologists believe this is a house cat, but the woman who took the pictures insists that it is a mountain lion. And why would she lie? What does she gain by lying? Her and her husband are both adamant that it’s the size of a German Shepherd, and the animal control officer they contacted is confirming it.

Let’s check out what a real mountain lion looks like:

We vote domestic cat, but it’s close. The tail definitely resembles a mountain lion, but it seems too fat and stumpy to be a mountain lion. Cougars are lean, mean, killing machines. That just looks like a spoiled American cat that eats too much food. Although at the same time, if that was your cat wouldn’t you come forward and be like, “relax everyone, that’s just my stupid cat”? It’s a mystery so make sure you vote in our poll. Now here’s a cool video of a real cat and a real mountain lion going head to head on some guy’s patio:

Ive actually seen a big mountain lion at Shepherd Hill in broad daylight 5 yrs ago.. I watched it roam the front softball field for 1/2 hour, called police. I am guessing it was 100-140 lbs.. They are here..plenty of food for them

In my (thankfully limited) experience with Webster, there does seem to be a high number of stray cats around, so that could explain why no one came forward to say that it’s their cat. Also a lot of old people that live there who wouldn’t see this on facebook… I vote house cat, definitely way too small and fat to be a mountain lion.

My dog is 11lbs of pure love and affection. He’s the sweetest dog. He’s a therapy dog. He loves senior citizens and children with special needs… and anyone who is crying in front of him. Well trained! I treat him like my child lol… one of those crazy bitches that feed him organic raw diets that cost $75 a month. Thank God I’m married with 1 child or I would be pathetic lol.

Mountain lions are some serious mamma jammas. Saw one hanging upside down (dead) in a barn about 20 years ago. It’s freaking paw was bigger than my head, and it was at least 6 feet long not counting its tail. After seeing that thing up close, I wouldn’t take a walk in cougar country without some serious fire power.

Saw one in New Braintree a couple years ago. Huge. Called the Environmetal Police and they put me in touch with a State biologist who claimed they cast a couple footprints on Ragged Hill, West Brookfield about the same time. In total I’ve seen two in my long, long life. This looks like a mountain lion.

The other sighting I had was about 1978, route 2, Gill, MA. Almost hit it as it ran across the road in front of me about midnight. No, I wasn’t drinking…
