NECN: Police responded to a large fight at a Denny’s Restaurant on Commercial Road early Saturday morning. Officers responded to a call informing them chairs were being used as weapons. According to the department, the restaurant manager decided to close early to get people out of the building. Once police arrived, they tried to disperse the crowd when they noticed three men behind the counter.
An officer told them to leave, but the men began to argue with the officer. Police say 22-year-old Luis Rosa became combative and spat at the officers. When they attempted to place Rojas under arrest, he resisted, they say.
Rojas is charged with assault and battery.
While officers were trying to clear the crowd, 24-year-old Brandon Sanchez attempted to try to open the door of the cruiser Rojas was in.
“As you can see on the video, he resisted,” said Leominster Police Capt. Michael Ciccolini. “Officers had to struggle to take him down to the ground.”
Officers took Rojas to the ground, forced his hands behind his back, and were able to place handcuffs on him.
I don’t know what’s more shocking – the fact that someone got smashed with a chair during a fight at Denny’s at 2:00 AM, or the fact that everyone who got arrested was from Fitchburg. Because these are things that hardly ever happen. Ever.
This is why Fitchburg can’t have nice things.
Hey I have an idea. When your boy gets arrested for spitting on a cop, you should DEFINITELY try to negotiate his release from the back of the squad car. Because cops release people who were just arrested all the time when their friends vouch for them in a Denny’s parking lot at two in the morning. High percentage move right there.
Once again we have to give credit to the cops. Who the hell wants to deal with this shit? There were normal people in there trying eat their drunk late night pancakes and it was all ruined because some people just can’t refrain from acting like savages. Then the fuzz gets there and normal people would disperse. Not these nudniks though. This genius had to spit on the cop. Keep it real yo!!! I give them credit for not kicking the shit out of them, because Turtleboy wouldn’t have had had the patience for it.
