Last week we celebrated another tombstone in the Turtleboy Sports graveyard when it was announced that the town of Oxford had issued a cease and desist against Laughlin Kennel.
The disgraced puppy mill was able to do business for a long, long time, but finally the town decided enough was enough and did the right thing. However, someone contacted us earlier this week to inform us that they had a friend purchase a puppy from Laughlin. Apparently they get 30 days to stop selling sick puppies to people and keeping the neighbors up all hours of the night. Then they get to appeal. Murica.
In the mean time, we also had this picture sent to us of a food delivery truck outside of Laughlin Kennel blocking an Oxford School bus from getting to school:
Is there anything this place doesn’t do? They sell sick puppies. They don’t pay for the medical expenses if they can weasel their way out of it. They keep all these dogs outside barking so the neighbors can’t sleep. And now they’re blockading adorable schoolchildren from getting their education on.
But wait, it gets better. Now they’re suing the Turtlegram and Gazette for libel.
Because suing for libel when someone exposes what an asshole you are is so hot right now. My question is, why aren’t they coming after Turtleboy? Do they think we’re poor or something? Paula Owen has done a fantastic job over there unearthing this whole situation, but we exposed tons of videos from former employees too!! We almost feel left out. They probably figure Gatehouse Media has plenty of cash and it might be cheaper for them to settle out of court. But they know Turtleboy backs down from no one. Plus, libel is really hard to prove. And when you’re just reposting videos, pictures, and facts, that’s not libel.
Laughlin Kennel is being represented by the owners sue-trigger-happy son John Fink. According to the lawsuit, Paula Owen was,
“motivated by personal animus against an employee of Laughlin Kennel, with whom she has a personal grudge” and “is partially ideologically motivated in that she is opposed to animal ownership and traditional farming practices.”
The “employee” whom Paula Owen has a “personal animus” with is the busty, voluptuous Websterite, Jennifer Gardner, who Owen exposed when she owned puppy mill in Webster called Elite Puppies. Not sure how that proves libel, but have fun working for free Mr. Fink. I’m sure your parents will pay you back after their company is forced to stop doing business.
And how bout the part about her being motivated by her ideology? Yea…..and? So she’s an animal lover. How does that at all change the facts in this situation? That’s like saying a reporter couldn’t write a story about domestic abuse if they were abused at one point. Where did this guy get his law degree? Trump University?
Anyway, we’re very anxious to see how this one turns out. We’ve been threatened with Internet lawsuits a million times before and some guy named Gordon Davis thinks he’s suing us for $153,000 (thinks, because Turtleboy Sports INC is not a real business). But now we get to actually watch one play out. Get your popcorn ready.
P.S. Does this mean we’re friends with the Turtlegram? Don’t we have to root for them in this situation? I feel so dirty right now.
