More Idiots Storm The Court After Worst Call Ever In San Diego State, New Mexico Game

March Madness is just around the corner and I just can’t get enough college basketball. The game of the day wasn’t UNC-Duke, it was New Mexico at San Diego State. The Aztecs have an outside shot at a 1 seed. The 21st ranked Lobos are one of the hottest teams in the country right now. And just for the record UMass beat them by 16 this season. A Lobos win definitely helps the Minutemen’s RPI.

New Mexico led most of the game, then started choking late in the second half. SDSU was up by 1 with the ball, and 40 seconds left, when a new candidate for worst call ever happened. Check this one out:

See this is what I hate about basketball officials. The dude who made the call was on the other side of the court. He saw the Lobos defender stick his arm out so he automatically blew his whistle. Had he been on the other side (the side of the defender’s arm) he would’ve seen that absolutely no contact was made. This is what officials do. They blow their whistle without knowing for sure it a foul occurred. Guilty until proven innocent. Singlehandedly cost them the game. I’m just so sick of seeing this shit.

Here’s the solution – if you blow a call like this that isn’t on a bang-bang play, you’re fired. End of discussion. If your job is on the line you’re gonna think twice before blowing your whistle. I’d much rather have players getting away with fouls then have the refs ruin games like this because they can’t keep their freaking whistle out of their mouths.

To add insult to injury SDSU nudniks stormed the court.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. College kids these days are ruining a great American tradition for everyone. You only rush the court in special situations. Oregon beat #3 Arizona today. That’s a storm the court situation. SDSU was the higher ranked team, and favored as such. You’re supposed to win this game dingleberries. Look, someone’s gonna get hurt one of these days, and then the storming the court tradition is officially done. You can get away with it once in a while when it’s really appropriate, but the more often you do it, the more you’re gonna ruin it for everyone.

Oh yea, by the way, SDSU was favored by 4.5. That pointless heave at the buzzer covered the spread. That’s why betting on college basketball is stupid.
