Marjorie Stoneham Douglas student Kyle Kashuv has kind of taken the lead as the antithesis to David Hogg and Emma Gonzalez on Twitter. He hasn’t been invited to any of the rallies or put on Time Magazine because he’s an outspoken defender of the Second Amendment, but he’s out there every day being the voice of dissent. Last week he posted this on his Twitter:
It was great learning about our inalienable right of #2A and how to properly use a gun. This was my first time ever touching a gun and it made me appreciate the #Constitution even more. My instructor was very informative; I learnt a lot. #2A is important and we need 2 preserve 2A pic.twitter.com/4rcOZbpl88
— Kyle Kashuv (@KyleKashuv) April 21, 2018
And because this triggered some students and offended others
I don't think it's wrong to perceive you as a threat when you are making jokes about our school shooting, posting pictures and videos of you with guns and getting into arguments with so many of your fellow students. I would deem that questionable behavior. https://t.co/gChT1xtumm

When Kyle went to school today, his principal informed him that other students had been upset by his posts, but that he hadn’t done anything wrong. But according to Kyle, in the middle of the morning, events took a different turn:
Near the end of third period, my teacher got a call from the office saying I need to go down and see a Mr. Greenleaf. I didn’t know Mr. Greenleaf, but it turned out that he was an armed school resource officer. I went down and found him, and he escorted me to his office. Then a second security officer walked in and sat behind me. Both began questioning me intensely. First, they began berating my tweet, although neither of them had read it; then they began aggressively asking questions about who I went to the range with, whose gun we used, about my father, etc. They were incredibly condescending and rude.
Then a third officer from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office walked in, and began asking me the same questions again. At that point, I asked whether I could record the interview. They said no. I asked if I had done anything wrong. Again, they answered no. I asked why I was there. One said, “Don’t get snappy with me, do you not remember what happened here a few months ago?”
They continued to question me aggressively, though they could cite nothing I had done wrong. They kept calling me “the pro-Second Amendment kid.” I was shocked and honestly, scared. It definitely felt like they were attempting to intimidate me.
I was treated like a criminal for no reason other than having gone to the gun range and posted on social media about it.
But a student who is doing nothing wrong, breaking no laws, and appears to be trying to educate others about the basis of his opinions, gets interrogated like a criminal.
Makes sense.
Well one of the people who seemed to agree that Kyle was in the wrong was history teacher Greg Pittman
@Emma4Change @senmarcorubio Everyone needs to take some action today for National Day of Action in Schools. Register to vote, call or email your elected officials, get parents to pledge to vote, tweet, post or speak out for common sense gun legislation. Act now. GP MSD pic.twitter.com/o34a6CXNkS
— Greg Pittman (@GregPittman1957) April 20, 2018
And he’s gone full ratchet on Twitter.
It all began when Montel Williams pointed out how stupid it was for rent-a-cops to interrogate a kid who did nothing wrong. Greg Pittman seemed to think this was a good thing:
As a teacher from Stoneman Douglas, any student posting photos holding guns, knives or other weapons would be questioned. 4 federal cases have ruled in the last 10 years that assault weapons are not protected. Most gun owners would not hold their gun in this same posed manner
— Greg Pittman (@GregPittman1957) April 24, 2018
Montel i am not the cops but merely stating why this was a very bad idea to do for our students to see. Do you have any idea what it is like for kids to go back or teachers in those clssses? Kyle only did it for attention. Very very bad idea to do. Poor taste is being kind
— Greg Pittman (@GregPittman1957) April 25, 2018
Apparently you’re only allowed to post pictures of yourself at a gun range in a town that has NOT had a mass shooting:
I own 2 guns. 2nd do not put words in my mouth I did not say Kyle, to use facts. I believe in all of the amendments, but under the 1st you can not yell “fire”!in a crowded theater, if anyone posts gun photos on social media in a town after a mass shooting, police might come.
— Greg Pittman (@GregPittman1957) April 25, 2018
That’s how both the First and Second Amendment works. Definitely.
He also elected to go directly at it with a 16 year old student on social media, calling him “one attention seeking student”:
Did you also hear only one attention seeking student posted photos holding assault weapons on social media in Parkland after a mass shooting at Douglas High and sheriff checked it out? Really. Attention seeking kids..anything for attention
— Greg Pittman (@GregPittman1957) April 25, 2018
He also called the child “dumb”:
I own two guns but I am not dumb enough to post assault weapon photos for classmates to see after mass shooting nor am I seeking attention like Kyle is I just explained why I thought the police would jyst check it out, so I get attacked by really dumb people with no facts lol.
— Greg Pittman (@GregPittman1957) April 25, 2018
For posting an “assault rifle”
Maybe everyone else but this one student were smart enough to know that posting photos of assault weapons for all the students to see after a mass shooting st their school was a really bad idea
— Greg Pittman (@GregPittman1957) April 25, 2018
Even though that’s not what the AR in AR-15 stands for. When Kyle pointed that out the TEACHER called the student “really stupid”:
That is really stupid
— Greg Pittman (@GregPittman1957) April 25, 2018
If you or I want to call Kyle Kashuv dumb, that’s cool. He’s put himself out there and he’s fair game. But teachers can’t do that. What world am I living in where it’s OK for a teacher to call a student names in such a public setting?
Oh right, Greg Pittman’s opinions are “right” and Kyle’s are “wrong,” therefore boundaries between teachers and students no longer exist. Sure, he could’ve just pulled Kyle aside in school and had a conversation with him about this privately. But that’s something a mature and responsible adult would do. And clearly Greg Pittman is just a child getting into tweet beef with another child.
Kyle is also claiming that Pittman is talking shit about him in class, and has referred to him as the next Hitler:
So… I just got a call from a friend of mine from @GregPittman1957's class and he apparently compared me to Hitler in class and said I am a piece of crap. The rant was about 10-minutes during class time and how he was right and I was wrong with my comments…
— Kyle Kashuv (@KyleKashuv) April 25, 2018
Of course there’s no way to confirm this, but he is being investigated now. Finally.
It’s just insane that the principal at a school that’s in the public eye wouldn’t tell a teacher to shut the fuck up and get off of social media. Every school in America has a social media policy for teachers, and I would assume one of the first things on there would be “don’t call kids stupid.” Especially when millions of people are watching. That’s the last distraction a school that’s already been through so much needs right now. Oh, and don’t call a kid Hitler either. Big no-no.
Now he’s accusing Kyle of breaking “slander laws”:
Slander laws
— Greg Pittman (@GregPittman1957) April 27, 2018
Which basically makes him equally as ratchet as every single nudnik who has ever threatened to take us to deformation court. Because slander is spoken defamation. The word he’s looking for is “libel.” Once again, this man teaches history to children.
Then he did what all SJWs do after saying something stupid on social media – found a way to victimize himself:
So by stating what took place, saying it was not bright, and was probably planned to get attention on social media, I am attacked by the student and threaten by others for stating what took place. I am not the police, security or administration. This mob mentality is scary & sad.
— Greg Pittman (@GregPittman1957) April 25, 2018
“Attacked by the student?”
Ummmmm….who’s the adult here? You called a child stupid several times on Twitter. You threw the first punch. Then you may or may not have called him Hitler, But please, tell me more about how you were the one who was attacked.
But he claims he did not attack Kyle:
I have attacked no one. I said it was not bright to post photos of a gun on social media by a student from Douglas after the mass shooting. Students are afraid to come to school. Security & Broward Sheriff deputies talk to the student due to the post. I just stated what happened
— Greg Pittman (@GregPittman1957) April 25, 2018
Just a reminder:
That is really stupid
— Greg Pittman (@GregPittman1957) April 25, 2018
Then he retweeted a woman who might be the dumbest person who has ever lived, accusing Kyle of getting his talking points from right wing commentator Ben Shapiro:
This “teenager” is getting talking points from Ben Shapiro. Neither Kyle nor Shapiro seem to know squat about the constitution.
— Lisa-Mom/Teacher #GunControlNOW #NeverAgain (@lisamikol1969) April 25, 2018
When you retweet someone like this you’re basically saying, “I agree with this so much that I need to share it with the public.” This is Lisa Mikolajczyk:
And she might be the dumbest person who has ever lived. She tweets five billion times a day and cannot stop making a fool of herself.
And what does “talking points from Ben Shapiro” even mean? Apparently that he is being “coached”:
Kyle has admitted to being coached by Shapiro.
— Lisa-Mom/Teacher #GunControlNOW #NeverAgain (@lisamikol1969) April 25, 2018
Tom Brady has admitted to being coached by Bill Belichick. What’s your point? People on the both sids of every issue generally just repeat the same 4-5 talking points they’ve heard from other people. None of them are actually original thoughts. David Hogg is “coached” by Rachel Maddow. Kyle Kashuv is “coached” by Ben Shapiro. What’s your point lady?
Now keep in mind, Greg Pittman follows this woman and endorses her views. This is his peer group. Let’s look at some of the other brilliant things she’s had to say on Twitter….
Ummm….No.
— Lisa-Mom/Teacher #GunControlNOW #NeverAgain (@lisamikol1969) April 25, 2018
Ben Shapiro went to Harvard Law School. Greg Pittman teaches high school history and doesn’t know what slander means. But yea, I’m sure this bootleg Mr. Feeney knows more about the Constitution. Definitely.
Dude, you’re not a 16 year old kid on a skateboard. You gotta do something about that hair man.
Since Greg Pittman is acting like a peer to Kyle by doing things a rival student would do, Kyle addresses him as Greg now. Lisa Mikolajczyk does NOT like this:
Oh yea, he should definitely show respect to this guy:
That is really stupid
— Greg Pittman (@GregPittman1957) April 25, 2018
He’s earned it.
Lisa is also a history expert:
From the Jews. But he encouraged the rest of the populace to be heavily armed.
And Hitler steamrolled over entire countries that had standing armies. Having guns would not have saved them.
And I’m half Jewish & lost relatives in the holocaust too— Lisa-Mom/Teacher #GunControlNOW #NeverAgain (@lisamikol1969) April 28, 2018
Yea, Hitler steamrolled “entire countries that had standing armies.” Such world powerhouses as Poland, Holland, and Denmark. If only they had guns.
Lisa is a former SPED teacher who now seems to go to Disney World full time:
Honestly, I taught special ed for 5 years. Every time a student posts pics on social media w/weapons & it’s brought to the attention of the administration they question the student to assess if he’s a safety risk. That’s why I tend to think Kyle is exaggerating what happened
— Lisa-Mom/Teacher #GunControlNOW #NeverAgain (@lisamikol1969) April 28, 2018
She believes that Greg Pittman should file a lawsuit for slander against the 16 year old he’s calling “stupid,” and that the student should be expelled for tweeting back at him:
And slandering a teacher should result in expulsion & lawsuit against that student’s family
— Lisa-Mom/Teacher #GunControlNOW #NeverAgain (@lisamikol1969) April 28, 2018
Then she did this:
Also, Kyle, your classmates have said you weren’t even at school the day of the shooting? Where were you?
No wonder an AR-15 doesn’t traumatize you—you didn’t have to hear the shots or walk over the dead bodies of your classmates.— Lisa-Mom/Teacher #GunControlNOW #NeverAgain (@lisamikol1969) April 28, 2018
Keep in mind, these are the same people who jump down your throats if you disagree with David Hogg. You can’t even mention the chosen one’s name without a mob yelling at you for attacking children. But apparently you can accuse students who don’t follow the company line of being crisis actors. OK then.
This was awesome too:
And it’s terrifying that a 15 year old child has that kind of influence over people.
— Lisa-Mom/Teacher #GunControlNOW #NeverAgain (@lisamikol1969) April 28, 2018
Oh yea, this 16 year old’s influence is very “terrifying.” The kid with 200,000 followers who never gets invited to anything has way more influence than Emma Gonzalez and David Hogg, who have more than 2 million followers on Twitter.
Also Kyle’s a liar:
The story says KYLE TOLD THEM 3 STUDENTS SAID THIS. It isn’t a confirmation. It’s his claim. pic.twitter.com/6GZjMq5ICT
— Lisa-Mom/Teacher #GunControlNOW #NeverAgain (@lisamikol1969) April 28, 2018
She also believes the teacher, who first used his public platform to call a student stupid, is the one who is being attacked:
Can all my followers follow @GregPittman1957 & help get his back? He’s a teacher at #MarjoryStonemanDouglas & is being attacked by gun nuts that follow one of his students
— Lisa-Mom/Teacher #GunControlNOW #NeverAgain (@lisamikol1969) April 25, 2018
Because the teacher never trolled or harassed the student:
Kyle has been the one trolling the teacher. The teacher never trolled or harassed him
— Lisa-Mom/Teacher #GunControlNOW #NeverAgain (@lisamikol1969) April 28, 2018
Ever….
That is really stupid
— Greg Pittman (@GregPittman1957) April 25, 2018
And as usual, she’s also doing what all SJWs do after attacking a child – retweeting people who are being “mean” to her:
Some more supporters! pic.twitter.com/KjkzMR9KmW
— Lisa-Mom/Teacher #GunControlNOW #NeverAgain (@lisamikol1969) April 28, 2018
This is the offensive message she received:
This is the most respectful and diplomatic response I’ve ever read. Nevertheless she persisted….
How will she ever survive?? This woman has been through so much.
The bottom line is that if a teacher at this school (or any school) publicly went at it with David Hogg and called him stupid, they’d be fired immediately. And if they started retweeting a mentally unbalanced friend who seems to spend her days attacking a 16 year old, they’d never get a teaching job again.
But Greg Pittman has the “right” opinions, so at the end of the day he’ll probably be allowed to keep belittling kids at his school who he disagrees with in a public manner.

“There’s only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people’s cultures and the Dutch.”
How come no one is paying attention to me any more ?
Great piece!
But keep voting for ANY candidate with a D next to their name!
Not for nothing but you called the kid stupid awhile back.
Why the faux outrage?
