Every feel good yahoo out there has been trying to show the world that they are the most politically correct defender of Native Americans’ feelings for months now. Ever since Deadspin and Chris Kluwe started a campaign to get the Washington Redskins to change their name (because it’s “offensive”) the pressure has slowly been building for team owner Dan Synder to pick a new name.

Well Jeanie Buss, the daughter of deceased former Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss, and the wife of former Lakers coach Phil Jackson, just kicked it up a notch. I’ve read a lot of dumb things about the Redskins issue, but this one takes the cake:

What a world changing tweet that was. Jeanie Buss is more than just lucky sperm – she’s a regular Martin Fucking Luther King Jr. Where do I start with this one? For starters I’m sure Dan Snyder is shaking in his boots right now. Sure the pressure from Congress and progressive white people who wanna feel good about themselves hasn’t gotten him to budge yet. But none of them have tried this angle yet. Because this is the type of power move that can bring a titan like Snyder to his knees!!

Secondly, only a moron has had their fantasy draft already. Football doesn’t start for like three or four more weeks. If you have had your fantasy draft already then you’re in a joke league. There are so many battles going on in each team’s camp at nearly every position. Running back is arguably the most important role you have to fill, and half the teams don’t know who will be their starters and how many carries a game they will get. Oh yea, and what happens if Peyton Manning breaks his leg this week? Only a complete novice like Jeanie Buss has already had their fantasy draft.

Also, if you have people in your league who draft players based on the level of offense you take to the franchise that employs them, then your league is not a real fantasy football league. Look, I’m all for bringing the ladies into the fantasy realm, but people like this ruin leagues.

I love how seriously she takes this too. Like, she was just sitting there doing her draft and it was time to pick a quarterback. RG3 was the best player available, but Jeanie Buss sat at her computer, watching the 90 second clock tick down, and was faced with the ultimate moral conundrum. Does she dare draft the best player available? Or does she take the inferior Eli Manning because it’s the right thing to do? After all, if she drafts RG3, isn’t she just contributing to racism?

LOL. Think about that for a moment. All of the Redskins best fantasy players are black. Santana Moss, Alfred Morris, RG3. Chances are that in her failed attempt to combat racism she will more than likely choose an inferior white player over a more qualified black player. You can’t make this stuff up people.

My favorite part about this is how she felt the need to tweet this out like it was some huge fucking announcement. Because who wasn’t sitting at home wondering who Jeanie Buss would draft onto her fantasy team? I love how she apologizes to the Redskins players for what she did. Because Santana Moss was probably devastated by the news that he would not be on her fantasy team.

Jeanie Buss was born white and rich. She was given her first professional franchise when she was 19 years old. Can you imagine the guilt she feels about all that? This is how she makes amends.

This whole thing is a microcosm of why the whole Redskins team name is even an issue at all. They’ve been the Redskins since the 1930’s despite political correctness being around that whole time. No one was outraged last year, or the year before that, or the year before that. But now all of a sudden this is the cause that the PC crowd has chosen to hitch their wagon to. I’ll give Deadspin credit – this was literally all on them. They started writing about this relentlessly a little over a year ago. They made it an issue. But make no mistake – no one gave a shit before that.

Dale Arnold was going off on a rant a few days ago about how Redskins is a racial slur and how it needs to change because Native Americans are offended by it. Newsflash – Redskins is not a racial slur. Any American who has ever spent time on the playground knows every racial slur in the book. I’ve heard people use racial slurs to insult a variety of minority groups. But not once have I ever heard someone use the term “Redskins” to insult Native Americans. Therefore it’s not a racial slur.

Arnold went on to point out that Baltimore has changed their team name and no one flipped out. Yup, someone he actually thinks this is a legitimate comparison. Sure, the Baltimore Colts and Baltimore Ravens are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT franchises, but besides that it’s a spot on analogy.

Arnold was railing against people who complain about political correctness. He thinks we’re all overreacting because we shouldn’t care about what Washington’s team is called since we aren’t Washington fans.

Hey Dale, guess what? People have had enough. This issue is just another drop in the bucket of political correct nonsense. Just in the last couple of weeks we’ve seen Kirk Minihane get suspended for pointing out that Erin Andrews is incompetent. We’ve seen Stephen A. Smith get suspended by ESPN for reading off of a script that ESPN gave him, even after he apologized. We’ve seen Max Kellerman suspended by ESPN for sharing a personal story about smacking his wife 20 years ago after she smacked him, and what he learned from it. Every time someone shares an honest opinion they get censored, and that sucks for everyone. Because people like to hear intriguing and different ideas even if they disagree with them.

And it’s not just the fact that people exhibit this PC way of looking at the world. It’s the fact that they bully everyone else into following their agenda. Smith, Kellerman, and Minihane weren’t suspended by their respect networks until the PC lynch mobs let it be known that they were going to keep making loud noises until they got their way. Because the PC crowd HATES discourse. They DEMAND that everyone subscribe to their worldview. Or else!!

People don’t wanna be called racist and bigoted simply because they’re not up to date with the newest PC rules, which are constantly changing. Particularly problematic is that the people who make these arbitrary rules are mostly privilege white folks who wanna do something to alleviate all the guilt they feel about being born white in America. People should be able to express their opinions and other people should be able to disagree with those opinions. That’s what makes America so fucking awesome.

The bottom line is that Dan Snyder is actually doing positive things for the Native American community. He’s visited several reservations and spoken with Native American people about issues plaguing their communities. Native Americans comprise the lowest socioeconomic group of all races, as well as the highest rates of mortality, lack of healthcare, and lack of education. Something should be done to help these people, and Dan Snyder is actually doing something about it.

But what the fuck are Dale Arnold and Jeanie Buss doing about it? Absolutely NOTHING. That’s my issue with the PC crowd. None of you people are making a dime’s worth of difference. They pat themselves on the back and tell themselves, “I made a difference today” because they called other white people racists, kept us up to date about words we can no longer use, or wrote a tweet about their fantasy football team.

But in reality these racial groups will continue to struggle socioeconomically because the PC crowd doesn’t really give a shit about helping them. They only care about promoting themselves by putting other people down.
