In the most predictable turn of events ever Suffolk County DA Rachael Rollins is now investigating the lawful shooting of some shithead in Dorchester who got killed after shooting at a cop in broad daylight. This is just what she does – throws police under the bus to appease her voting base. Not surprisingly the shithead’s family is pleased.
The family of a 19-year-old who was killed in an officer-involved shooting in Dorchester earlier this week has issued a statement applauding the Suffolk District Attorney’s Office for assigning an independent investigator.
In a statement issued Thursday on their behalf by the Boston-based law firm Hedges & Tomposky, the family of Jaymil Ellerbe said it “mourns the tragic killing of their son, grandson, nephew, and brother.”
“Regardless of the circumstances of his death, the family deserves a full, swift and transparent investigation,” the statement read. “We applaud the decision of the Suffolk DA to assign this case to an independent investigator from the Discharge Integrity Team. We further call upon the Boston Police and of the Office of the Medical Examiner to promptly release to the family all information concerning the death of Jaymil, including reports, video footage and the autopsy.”
Seems like a quality individual. Real big loss for the community. No doubt he was about to turn his life around and open up his own haberdashery.
But there was a second shithead involved too, and his story is even more infuriating…
Boston Police report arresting the second man they say officers were chasing when the first began shooting at them. Ernest Watkins, 21, whose criminal record includes involuntary manslaughter for his connection to a stabbing murder in 2012 – when Watkins was just 14 – was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition for his alleged role in the incident, which police say when Watkins and the other man, still unidentified by police, began shooting at Town Field in Fields Corner.
Police say officers nabbed Watkins around 10:20 p.m. yesterday at Dorchester and Melville avenues, not far from where his alleged accomplice made his fatal stand. Police say two bicycle cops began chasing the pair, but focused on one of them when the pair split up a couple blocks away – because that man still had a gun in his possession. Police say that man pulled the gun on Penhallow Street, off Melville, refused demands to drop it and was shot dead after he fired on the officers.
According to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office, which had requested bail of $100,000, Dorchester Municipal Court Judge Lisa Grant set bail at $25,000 – and required Watkins to wear a GPS device and be confined to home should he make bail.
According to the DA’s office, Watkins was convicted in 2015 for involuntary manslaughter for the death of Cherby LaJoie on Charles Street in Dorchester on Oct. 6, 2012. Following his conviction, prosecutors asked a judge to sentence him to 12 to 15 years; the judge instead sentenced him to 4 to 5 years.
I had to do a double take on that one. Yes, this maggot was convicted of “involuntary” manslaughter in 2015 in the stabbing death during a failed robbery in 2012. He was sentenced to 4-5 years, and either got let out early or just got let out the other day.
He was charged with murder but ended up only being charged with involuntary manslaughter. Because apparently when you rob a guy and then stab him a bunch of times for not giving you his wallet that’s “involuntary.” This was “involuntary.”
“They stabbed him with so much force, 40 separate and distinct times, that when the EMTs arrived on scene there was simply nothing they could do,” Hallal said.
It was about 1:15 a.m. on Oct. 6, 2012, when LaJoie was attacked as he walked along Charles Street in Dorchester.
“He was beaten, kicked, stabbed, dragged onto the sidewalk, back out onto the street, onto the sidewalk again, back and forth during the course of the time that the group, including these defendants, stabbed him,” said Hallal.
LaJoie was stabbed with so much force that a knife broke off in his head and the medical examiner had to remove the tip.
And of course he got out of jail in a couple years and immediately starts hanging out with shithead friends with guns who shoot at cops. Looks like he was ready for early release.
This story is everything that is wrong with Massachusetts. Last year the state legislature and governor patted themselves on the back for signing a law that let violent criminal offenders get out of jail early because they were 16 or 17 when they committed their crime. Because of that animals like Phillip Chism could be back terrorizing the community in the not so distant future.
Now the DA is investigating the police in order to appease these shitty people who raised a shitty kid who grew up to be a shitty adult. Welcome to Massachusetts.
