Karen Sharpe is the Assistant Vice President of Development and Advancement at Worcester State University.
Because a school like Worcester State just could not function without an Assistant VP of Development and Advancement earning a salary of $110,000:
Keep in mind, she’s not the President of Development and Advancement at WSU. She’s the Vice President. Oh wait, sorry, she’s not even the Vice President. She’s the “Assistant Vice President.” One would assume the President and non-assistants in her department get a substantially large salary. And these are the same people who vote for Elizabeth Warren while railing against the cost of college and the unfairness of college loans. This is why colleges cost so much money. Because of bloated administration that does nothing and isn’t even close to being essential.
So obviously she must be really busy if she gets paid a six figure salary, right? Well, apparently she has enough free time that she was able to send this email to all Worcester City Councilors, urging them to make Worcester a Sanctuary City that will defy federal immigration laws and risk lose federal funding by doing so:

Keep in mind, Karen Sharpe works at Worcester State. This is a state funded university which over the last 10 years has built and built and built, and they’ve run out of land. As a result the neighborhoods surrounding WSU have become parking lots for the 4000+ commuters every day. They did this without thinking about how it would affect the city and the residents. And now they think they can tell the City Council to defy the federal government, knowing it will cost the city a shitload of money? Fuck out of here.
And how dumb is this lady? The last sentence about sums it up:
“defending our immigrant and refugee friends, neighbors and allies.”
Like, she realizes that refugees are not illegal immigrants, right? No one is trying to deport or arrest refugees. They’ve gone through a legal process to get here. The government knows who they are. They have documentation.
But of course facts don’t matter to these idiots. The only thing that matters are emotions and feelings. And Karen Sharpe is feeling sad and angry. She’s sad that Hillary lost, and she’s angry that Trump’s actually doing what he said he was gonna do.
Look, Turtleboy isn’t big into mass deportations. Sorry, not one of those. Immigration is complicated for many, and to just say that we need to deport millions of people, dividing up families, is not the kind of stuff we’re all about.
But I will say this – it’s insane for any city to tell the federal government they don’t need their money in order to prove a point. Because that’s all this sanctuary city bullshit is. Grown adults throwing a hissy fit and trying to prove a point. Newsflash – cities need money from the federal government. We’re not in a position to tell them “thanks but no thanks.”
And why do you think Joe Petty and crew haven’t commented on this? Yesterday Marty Walsh held a big presser announcing that undocumented immigrants can sleep at City Hall. Joe Curtatone did the same thing in Somerville. So where’s Petty been? They’re all playing for the same team.
The answer is simple – Worcester ain’t Boston or Somerville. And the people here won’t support Worcester becoming a sanctuary city. More importantly, Joe Petty realizes that we actually NEED that federal money. That’s why he tried to avoid this issue. Now this SJW from WSU is putting his feet to the fire, and I secretly love her for doing so. He can’t sit on the fence anymore.
Anyway, back to Karen Sharpe, she’s everything you dreamed she would be and more. On top of her $110,000 salary at Worcester State (which she apparently gets to write emails to the City Council) she also publishes poetry for a non-profit (shocking that a SJW woud be involved with a non-profit):

Just understand that when someone aspires to be involved in non-profits, they’re doing so because they like feeding off the public tit. It’s like welfare, but without the stigma. People think you’re feeding the homeless, but you’re really just collecting state grants to be social justice warriors.
Oh, and last weekend she was out protesting with Senator Corey Booker because she’s mad her candidate for President lost.

In other words, she gets paid to make up buzzwords and do nothing all day. Because that’s what that is. Collaborative leadership? Da fuq? That is nothing more than meaningless fluff that she thinks sounds good on paper. What exactly is an “innovative strategist?” What does a “savvy relationship builder” do when she punches in every day? This is how you make a living when you’re a Clark graduate with no talent,
who can’t keep gigs at Worcester Magazine or the Boston Globe.
Anyway, like I said, I actually am happy she wrote this stupid email. Joe Petty has been trying to sit on the fence because he knows that Worcester isn’t Cambridge or Northampton or Somerville. It’s a working class, blue collar city. It’s left-leaning, but it’s not full blown SJW. Joe Petty and company realize this, and they realize that only the hardcores want their hometowns to become sanctuary cities. Most people in Worcester just want their roads plowed, and it’s gonna be hard to convince the taxpayers that we don’t need money when our roads consistently look like shit, and our schools are so underfunded. Isn’t this a conflict of interest ? She’s using her title, when she contacted the City. Hinting the a state agency is behind her request. Why is she using her state title ? Investigate this situation.

As the new Mascot at WSU, I demand a raise. I am far more productive keeping people appropriately entertained when they attend events on campus. I question my donation of time to the school now. This over paid SJW doesn’t know the first rule of strong arm tactics? NEVER use your work email(especially when you work for the State) to try to force a fellow Government teat sucker to act on something.
You poor kids wondering why your WSU tuition is high, useless do nothing “made up ” positions like Assistant VP of Dev & Uni Advancement….. hardest part of that job is probably trying to figure out how to fill a 40 hour week.
The trouble with the federal budget, and to a lesser extent, the state budget, is that you can hide hacks like this in the budget. That is, until they do something stupid like this and make themselves known. If she did this on her own, there are people slapping their heads and distancing themselves. If she was told to do this, there are people distancing themselves. She was the trial balloon and was sacrificial if there was blowback.
At a time when our Governor is trying to find places balance the budget and our new President is trying to deal with a twenty trillion dollar deficit, we are paying this useless hack $110,000. a year! How many thousands of useless hacks are there in the state? How many useless hacks are there at Worcester State? I would bet that if you cut Worcester State’s budget by 50% and installed a competent administrator, you could run a better college.
People do not get $110,000. a year jobs without it costing them. This is the quid pro quo.

Illegals captured the first time should be micro-chipped for future identification and to track issue of benefits.
If deported and recaptured, they should not be confined or deported, but instead put into a public works labor force,or the military. After 3-5 years of good service, offer citizenship.
