Worcester Magazine released the winners of the 2015 Best of Worcester voting results, and once again it was yet another HUGE victory for the Turtleboy Sports Revolution. The ultimate validation included the following:

  • Turtleboy Sports for best local blog
  • Michael Gaffney for best City Councilor
  • Donna Colorio for best School Committee member
  • Margaret Melican dethroning RBG for Worcester’s best poet
  • Wormtown Brewery for best craft beer
  • Smokestack Urban Barbecue for best barbecue
  • Janice Harvey runner up for best columnist with Dianne Williamson winning
  • Jim Polito and Jordan Levy holding down the top 2 spot for best radio personality
  • Kate Campanale runner up for best state/federal legislator
  • JJM Insurance runner up for best insurance agency
  • Smitty’s Tavern runner up for best neighborhood bar
  • 100.1 FM the Pike runner up for best radio station
  • The Perfect Game for best sports bar
  • 3B Auto runner up for best auto detailing
  • Scavone Plumbing and Heating runner up for best heating
  • Julio’s Liquors runner up for best liquor store, best wine selection and tobacconist
  • Paul Conzo runner up for best salon and best spa
  • Zaza Ink runner up for best tattoo parlor

All of these winner were either explicitly endorsed by Turtleboy Sports or advertised with us. This is what the TBS Revolution is all about. Making the community great again. All of these businesses and people take part in that. It feels like just yesterday morons were lining up to boycott us, but as you can see, they have failed in historic fashion.

It’s just so perfect because Walter Bird does NOT want to give this to us. He blocked us on social media a long time ago so I don’t even know how he’ll be reaching out to us about it. I’m honestly surprised he didn’t just get rid of the category. The man has turtle on the brain.

The question is, which Turtleboy will pick up this award? Everyone knows that we are all Turtleboy. They have a dinner, we think it’s at The Citizen Bar, but we just don’t know the date and time yet. However, YOU could be the one to get the free meal and be Turtleboy for the night. We’re going to have some sort of contest to decide who it will be, we just haven’t figured out what that contest is yet. If you have any idea, share them in the comments. The only stipulation is that you have to go with the date of our choosing. And we choose Bret Killoran.

We urge you to support the Turtleboy Sponsors by doing business with them. Without them none of this is possible. Click on any of them to check out their sites or Facebook pages.

I would go but nothing nice would happen. I would ruin Brett’s big evening by bringing some alcohol in my purse and turn into a very happy but vulgar drunk with a lazy eye.

I’d go, but only with Wanda as my date and her rolling a fatty for the ride over.

Congrats Turtleboy! This is as impressive as someone being voted the Colrain Homecoming Queen but not as important. You should get over yourself.

Wormtown Brewery needs zero help from TBS to win accolades. They win awards at the National Level all day long. One reason: they brew excellent beer. And what’s with listing all the runner ups? Only 8 out of the 18 listed came in first place. Who did the winners of those categories advertise with? 8 first places with over 110 Categories, hardly a revolution.

I’ll go and yes, I’ll bring Bret as a date as long as he does NOT ask to use the ladies room.

I completely understand that remaining anonymous is a HUGE priority for the Turtleboy staff, that’s completely understandable considering how many people would love to have your head(s) on a platter. However, you could just pretend to have a contest, and then just go yourself/yourselves.

You guys certainly deserve the fruits of your labors… even if said “fruits” are simply a dinner. Killer work on the Spencer/East Brookfield bullshit that’s going down, by the way. I am in the service industry and routinely do work out in Spencer and have spoken with several parents who have kids at Prouty and they’re all in agreement that the whole situation is fucked.

    Good job!
