There are quite a few greyhound racing tracks located around the United Kingdom, with
greyhound racing being regulated by the Greyhound Board of Great Britain. This type of
racing works very much the same as other animal racing events such as horseracing.
Introduced in 1776, it wasn’t until 1926 when modern greyhound racing was born.
Although it reached its popularity peak in the early part of the twentieth century,
greyhound racing has been seeing a small resurgence in the past two years.
Particularly since the online betting market has experienced such tremendous growth,
with sites now offering betting on greyhound races on tracks all over the UK. You can
find more greyhound tracks here but now let’s take a closer look at three of the current
top greyhound racing tracks in the UK.
Belle Vue Stadium
This stadium, located in Manchester, is open three days a week on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. They open at 6:30 PM local time and on a typical racing day, are open for about three hours. You can just show up, without booking reservations in advance, and the stadium offers plenty of discounts for both first time visitors as well as returning ones. If you want to bet on greyhound racing, then Belle Vue is definitely one of the stadiums that you should consider. You may also want to bring your friends, because there is a special discount if you come as a group of six people or more. This group discount doesn’t just include your entrance fee; it also comes with drinks and meals as well as private dining. If you have large groups of people or are planning a party in the near future, Belle Vue Stadium also offers rooms for parties and complete packages for business organizations or families that want to visit the race track. Spending the day at the Greyhound track, watching the races and even making a little money on wagering (or maybe a lot) may be one of the best ways to spend your weekend.
Nottingham Stadium
Nottingham Stadium is one of the oldest and most popular stadiums currently around.
The track is located on the outskirts of Nottingham, where races are held on Mondays,
Fridays and Saturdays. These are mainly evening races with some matinee races on
Tuesdays. The track is 437 meters in circumference, and they the stadium can hold
1500 people. It’s been around since 1980 but was renovated as recently as August
2008. This is probably the most accessible greyhound stadium in Great Britain because
it is located right in the center of the country and you can use the train or lots of other
methods of transportation to get there.
If you prefer to go to the races in the evening after you get off work, you can also enjoy all the refreshment and dining they offer then. There are a few discounts that are available, but they’re mostly for corporate clients or large groups. However, even for the average person, the stadium is extremely reasonable prices and the races are exciting and definitely worth watching. The stadium features three different bars, a snack bar, a couple of restaurants and plenty of racing action to make your visit memorable.
Sheffield Stadium
The stands are packed at Sheffield with more than 5000 people visiting every single
week. Having opened in 1929 when the sport was at its most popular, the stadium
offers not only dog racing but great facilities, entertainment and other venues as well.
The Sheffield sports stadium can be found in Owlerton which is near Hillsboro in
Sheffield, South Yorkshire. You can find racing events on Tuesdays, Fridays and
Saturdays in the evening as well as on Monday and Thursday afternoons. This stadium
is one of the oldest in the country, containing up to 4000 people at a time.
This is one of the best stadiums out there, with terrific dining experiences, refreshments,
bars and more. Furthermore, many important people come there to watch the races
often with prestigious racing events held there as well such as the Queen Mother Cup,
the Harry Holmes Memorial Cup and many other individual greyhound racing events
that you will love attending.

Banning greyhound racing should have been the wake up call massachusetts and the country needed. Its absurd that wonderland and raynham/taunton are no longer in operation. Are we next to ban horse racing? And then are we next after that to ban auto racing, human racing in the 100m dash etc? Where does this bullshit end?
Didi and the Troll army put a major dent in the revenue stream. The lights have to stay on somehow in the age of social media censorship. No problem.
If Turtleboy is making money off this, more power to him. He has to think of his bottom line, you know.
How does his dick taste?
Noticed this one says SPONSORED in the gold banner at the top in a space usually reserved for “HOODRAT HEROES”, “ALL-STAR CRIMINALS” etc…. headers.
Perhaps this is the “sports” of Turtleboy Sports?
That’s a wicked googly!
This is a joke, right. You would have been better off writing up all the great dog tracks locally. Plainfield in CT. Wonderland, Raynham-Tauton, Lincoln in RI, Seabrook in NH. Of course you would have had to do that 30 years ago. Rule # 1 with following the greyhounds, always bet on a dog that takes a shit during the post parade. Just like humans, nothing makes you feel better that a good healthy dump!
Could we have an article on the three most popular beetle species as well?
I was wondering what the Top 3 Dog Tracks in the UK were. Thanks TB for this useful information. More top notch internetting.

Where is the relevance to the world-wide web of ratchetry?
Are you being paid to push this drivel?
At least, at least, promote something local, if not American; who the F cares about the UK?!
Ah! Great Britain still has a few locations to drop off senior members of Parliament…
Paging Nancy Pelosi
Do the fans crush each other like at Hillsborough? Cause that would be funny.
What the what?
If I’m ever in England maybe this article would have some relevance to my life.
