Listening to sports talk radio today the only thing on the agenda was a comment from Texans owner Bob McNair at a meeting with players earlier this week in regards to the National Anthem controversy.
Bleacher Report: In response to a remark from owner Bob McNair, Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins reportedly skipped the team’s practice Friday. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Hopkins’ absence was directly related to McNair’s comment, but he wasn’t the only one who wanted to get away from the team Friday. Per ESPN.com’s Sarah Barshop (via Schefter), Texans players had to be “persuaded” to stay at practice.
ESPN The Magazine’s Seth Wickersham and Don Van Natta Jr. reported during last week’s meeting between owners, team executives and Commissioner Roger Goodell that McNair said the NFL “can’t have the inmates running the prison” regarding protests during the national anthem. Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reported Texans offensive tackle Duane Brown said players will reconvene at some point to determine what they want to do after deciding to practice Friday.
If you hear someone say, “the inmates are running the prison,” and don’t immediately assume that the person saying it slipped up in an attempt to use the common figure of speech, “the inmates are running the asylum,” then you might just be a race baiting idiot looking for something to be outraged about.
It’s just mind boggling that this could possibly be considered controversial. But it is. Check out all the faux triggered outrage:
A quote that will make you cringe from Texans owners Bob McNair, re: anthem protests: “We can't have the inmates running the prison.”

Bob McNair’s comments are painfully revealing. I hope the players respond. If united, THEY hold the power.

Texans owner Bob McNair knew EXACTLY what he was saying. & he wasn't just talking about Blk NFL players. White supremacy is a global prison

Inmates running the asylum of course means that those who are not in charge have effectively taken charge. In the context of the NFL Bob McNair was obviously referring to the fact that the players who are kneeling seem to think they make the rules. They don’t. The owners make the rules. And when your political actions on the job piss off the customers who are paying your salary, the owner has every right to tell you to stop. But they haven’t, thus the “inmates are running the prison” comment.
According to Draymond Green though, “figures of speech are not OK in 2017.” I’m not even kidding, he actually said that:

You’re not even allowed to use a figure of speech because the PC police said so. They’re in charge, not you. Fuck your freedom.
Hey Draymond, ya know what else you can’t do in 2017? Kick people in the nuts. And I don’t mean that as a figure of speech. You literally can’t stop kicking people in the nuts.
If you wanna see just how hypocritical these frauds are go on Twitter and search for “inmates running asylum Trump.” Then watch what comes up:
Ex-Breitbart Alt-Nazi promoter Steve Bannon is author of Trump's executive orders….An inmate is running the asylum https://t.co/I1D2Zcj0pC

The sickest inmate is running the asylum. Trump is narcissistic sociopath that cares NOTHING for America. He is the enemy of the people. pic.twitter.com/rG6k8xxsyR

Donald Trump is running your party.
An inmate is already running the asylum. https://t.co/jMqOzROFFP

Oh I see. So it’s only a figure of speech when you’re referring to Donald Trump? Or is it all white people in general? I was unaware that figures of speech cannot be used when referring to any person of color. I must’ve missed that day of social justice warrior training.
Look, I’m on record for saying that I don’t really give a shit about the kneeling. But at the same time I want them to lose. I want nothing more than for the owners to crush them because they don’t understand that as contracted employees they don’t have a right to force their politics on the customers. When I got McDonald’s I don’t want a lecture from Grimace about abortion. When I go to Gillette Stadium I wanna watch football. I’m not interested in anything you have to say about politics if you are wearing a Patriots uniform. I’m paying $250 to watch you beat the shit out of each other before you go back to your mansion in Medfield. Bob McNair is right – the inmates are running the asylum, and the wardens need to lay the smack down and remind them that they are not equal partners in this industry.

Bob McNair was partially correct. The inmates are not running the prison, they are running the plantation of the NFL. The owner is just trying to take back the plantation, something the NFL should be doing themselves.
slaves running the plantation.
Basically, you’re taking the side of billionaires against millionaires, so you’re a cunt either way.
Little immature babies, who are lucky enough to play pro. Most will be gone in a season or two. Most or all of their money will be history too. The clock is ticking.
“do you know how many PEOPLE I had to blow for that”
In a transgender world it means she didn’t just swallow penis and semen of every type but tongue cleaning other women’s birth canals to get her fix.
Although NFL running backs can run very fast they are even FASTER with a stolen DVD player under their arm and some Cops chasing them! 🙂
hi chrissy clone i see you are having a busy Saturday! 😮
love that they’re taking shots at bannon he’s a proud klansman and we stand with him
Fuck the NFL, how many players would be inmates if not for their ability to run fast and jump high.
The NFL for so long masqueraded as Patriotic American. If you feel good or bad when your team wins or losses it’s time to do something more for yourself in life and believe in you doing something fun and cool with you’re time on earth, fuck the tv and NFL.
The players and league are millionaire felons, money grubbing every “fan”. $100.00 to $325.00 dollars for a shirt with somebody else’s name on it, get real! What is this idolatry? Buy a fishing rod or golf clubs something for you.
Gave up on this hideous league last year after decades of being a fan. My Sundays are more valuable to me then to ever go back to watching these contrived Man-Soap-Operas.
With all the BS going around, the inmates have been running the asylum for some time.
I will not support slavery, just say NO to the NFL!
I find it surprising that Draymond Green didn’t use the phrase “at the end of the day” at least three times in his interview.
“Texans offensive tackle Duane Brown said players will reconvene at some point to determine what they want to do after deciding to practice Friday.”
You’ll up up for practice numbnuts; if you don’t I hope the owners sue you little bitches for breach of contract.
With pro football these clowns are either strip club bouncers or asking me if I want paper or plastic..
Wrong! The players do in fact run the NFL, Because without them the league does not exist.
Then let’s see how they do on their own, clearly they don’t need the white mans help since the country’s they originated from are thriving.
Chippy, You sound like a bread and butter like Turtlerider! And people wonder why this site is not cited or taken seriously!
This site, taken seriously or not has nothing to do with my comment being correct. If they don’t like the NFL there are plenty of other ways to make a living.
They can walk out all they want. Bye bye.
Your comment was straight out of Redneck, USA, Don’t try to back away from it!
That comment assumes that the players are a monolith, and that they all agree with this movement. I don’t doubt for a second that there are millions of people just as qualified to play the game waiting right behind them to get a shot at the league and the big time pay that goes along with it, who are more than willing to keep their opinions and political views to themselves. Don’t fall for the rhetoric here, and resist the urge to lump all people together.
Hey “Smartypants” the NFL is funded by the fans, you moron.
Indirectly, Yes. Did I say they weren’t ? Who’s the moron???
This crowd wants to see Robert Kraft playing QB and McNair running routes.
It takes a nation of cunts to hold us back.
“When I got McDonald’s I don’t want a lecture from Grimace about abortion.”
i laughed 😀
Since half of these “professional” athletes barely finished high school, never mind college, their ignorance should not surprise anyone. Dopes!
Any normal non race baiting black person should find it much more offensive that some losers actually hear the words Inmates or Prison and assume it’s specifically referring to black people.
Of course the irony is most of the players have been or would be prisoners if not for their “elite” status. Are you not entertained?!
