Daily Wire: A South Carolina woman named Dawn Hilton-Williams posted a video to Facebook Live on April 27 in which she accuses a Virginia cop who pulled her over for a speeding violation of being a “racist.” In the tearful rant, which soon went viral, Hilton-Williams describes the interaction as a lynching and invokes the name of Sandra Bland, a black woman who killed herself in her jail cell after a traffic stop.
“I was just bullied by a racist cop,” claims Hilton-Williams in the 11-minute video. “This is where we got lynched. This is where we got lynched, even in today’s day.”
She continues: “I mean pulling you out of a car doesn’t seem like a big deal, but when you are African-American and you get pulled out of the car you get shot or you get tased, or you get Sandra Bland-ed. … I said ‘I’m not putting my signature on that ticket.’ He said ‘if you don’t sign this ticket, then I’m going to pull you out of the car and I’ll arrest you, and I’ll impound the car.'”
After the video was posted, many concerned citizens called the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office with questions and outrage. This prompted the sheriff’s office to release the full video of the traffic stop, which paints a very different picture than what Hilton-Williams’ describes. Contrary to the woman’s claim, the deputy never threatened to “pull” her out of her car when she refused to sign the summons and there are no references or innuendos to race or racial antipathy.
“I started getting calls from citizens asking what is going on,” explained Sheriff Brian Roberts. “They had seen a posting and were concerned about how I would allow it to happen.”
After the video was released, Hilton-Williams said she had a different recollection of the interaction. “Get or pull. All he had to do was say step out of the car ma’am. I felt that it was threatening and I didn’t feel safe because he’s got the gun and he’s got the badge,” she said.
“I wish society was different, I wish it wasn’t normalized. I wish that everybody’s traffic stop was the same so that people would just feel normal,” Hilton-Williams continued. “I certainly did feel Sandra Bland. I saw that and felt it … like that was about to happen to me. Like, what do I need to do and that I was scared.”
Still, Hilton-Williams told CBS 6 that she intends to file a complaint against the deputy.
So let me get this straight. Cop pulls her over for going 70 in a 55 with multiple posted signs. She gets a ticket and tells him she ain’t paying it (like he gives a shit). He says you can pay it or fight in court, and please just sign this so you acknowledge I gave you this, not as an admittance of guilt. By this point she’s already called her cousin, who of course is on the phone and ready the chew the cop out about her rights being violated, and says she’s not signing shit. He tells her, that’s cool, but if you don’t sign it then I have to take you out of the car and arrest you. So she signs it.
And she’s STILL not admitting she did something wrong??
Give it up lady. You tried to go viral and you did. I’m sure a billion woke wypipo commented about how this never happens to them, and checked their white privilege so you’d like their comments. Because facts and evidence has never mattered to a Facebook mob.
Then it backfired on you. Time to cut your losses and call it a day. Instead she’s still filing a complaint, because if she’s not victimizing herself she doesn’t know what to do with her time.
I love the fact that professional victims like this were the ones who pushed the hardest for police body cams, and it’s completely backfiring on them. This happens all the time now. Newsflash – all body cams do 99.9% of the time is exonerate cops. They’re mostly used to prove how bullshit you are, and how cops are doing their job.
But nevertheless the theatrics of it all is why people do shit like this. The reality is that in no way, shape, or form is Dawn Hilton-Williams “oppressed.” She’s actually doing quite well for herself and owns her own business:
But nevertheless she totally got lynched there. And the whole, “this is where my ancestors worked the fields” wasn’t over the top theatrics either. It’s just amazing. The fact of the matter is that if she does have ancestors who were slaves, they’d probably hate her for diminishing the very real trauma they lived through while she opens a catering a business and cries about being pulled over for going 70 in a 55.
The bottom line is people like this WANT to be victims, they just don’t wanna go through the pain and terror that comes along with being a real victim. Like Candice Owens asked, “why do you think it’s cool to be oppressed?” Because that’s clearly what cheesehogs like this want – to be able to talk about how oppressed they are.
