I saw this story on the Worcester Police Department Facebook page. It really pissed me off so I contacted Turtleboy and asked if I could do a guest blog because I wanted to get it off my chest. Here’s the back story:

15 Year Old Male Shot at Quality Inn and Suites at 50 Oriol Drive

Worcester, MA (March 14, 2015) – On Saturday, March 14, 2015 at approximately 3:53 AM, Worcester police responded to 50 Oriol Drive, the Quality Inn and Suites, for a report of a male shot. Upon police arrival, they came upon a 15-year-old male victim. The victim was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds but was conscious and alert.

The victim was transported to U-Mass Medical Center (university campus) and is expected to survive.

Worcester police investigators arrived at the scene and took control of the investigation. Evidence at the scene was processed by the members of the Crime Scene Unit. Witnesses at the scene were interviewed by detectives.

Based on witness accounts along with security film footage at the Inn, investigators believe that they are looking for three male suspects.

So first of all, it’s tragic that a 15 year old would get shot. He’s just a kid. But with that being said, I got a few questions. Let’s start with the fact that a 15 year old was at the Quality Inn on Lincoln Street at 3:53 AM. That’s your first red flag right there. Look, I know 15 year olds get into some shit sometimes. We’ve all been there. But getting shot at the Quality Inn is not some routine rite of passage that teenagers go through. I liked to sneak around when I was 15 years old, but somehow I managed never to get shot at a cheap motel on Lincoln Street.

Now, people read this blog because it’s blunt and honest. PC jerkweeds don’t like it. But it needs to be said because every normal person out there is thinking it. I read this blog because it says what I’m thinking. It’s refreshing to know that the whole world hasn’t gone crazy. We’ve let PC bullies shout us down and tell us we’re being racist, or mean, or blah, blah, blah, for way too long. That’s a defense mechanism for people who don’t have a legitimate point to make. I started reading this blog after Busgate because it said exactly what I was thinking. There are a lot of great parents in this city, but at the same time there are a lot of parents who need to get their shit together.

And guess what? When a 15 year old gets shot MULTIPLE TIMES something went very, very wrong. And 9 times out of 10 the finger can be pointed squarely at the parents. This kid’s name has been posted all over Facebook, but I’m not gonna post it because Turtleboy Management won’t let me. It’s the Internet though. If you want to you can figure it out on your own just like we did. The kid’s social media is open for the public to see and it speaks for itself. That’s the real story here – social media and parents who don’t know how to parent.

Now this kid is Facebook friends with both of his parents, because he communicates frequently with them on his page. The kid’s timeline is littered with photos like this –

If you’re friends with your 15 year old son on Facebook, and you have access to all these things he’s putting up there, this should IMMEDIATELY tell you that there is a HUGE problem that you need to address. No 15 year old kid should be constantly flashing pictures of himself with what appears to be thousands and thousands of dollars. Because 15 year olds don’t have real jobs. When I was 15 years old I would’ve traded my sister for $5 and a pack of sour starburst. But instead of looking at this and intervening, Mom seems to encourage the ghetto-fabulous life of her 15 year old son:

Screen Shot 2015-03-15 at 12.02.26 PM

Sure he’s bragging about how his friends are getting locked up, he has thousands of dollars and appears to be an unlicensed shoe salesman, and he says things like, “Dirty money keep a nigga clean.” But there’s nothing to be alarmed about, right Ma? Perfectly normal. As long as he’s “looking fly like always,” that’s all that matters. Solid parenting right there.

The kid just got shot a bunch of times. If this happened to my son I would be FREAKING out. “How could this have happened? What did I do wrong?” At the very least the first thing I would do is have a serious conversation with him about responsible use of social media. I would let him know that this is in the news and that he needs to IMMEDIATELY deactivate his Facebook and Twitter accounts because the news is gonna come looking.

But not this Mom. This kid was live tweeting from the hospital:

Jesus fucking Christ. If you thought Baby Gangsta kept it real get a load of this kid. Like, he doesn’t even have any regrets. This was a GOOD thing in his mind apparently because it’s given him all sorts of street cred. Because after all, he’s a “soldier” now according to all the Tweets he’s re-tweeting about him:

You know what happens to soldiers kid? They die. But they die for good reasons. They die protecting our freedoms while trying to rid the world of evil. You got shot at the Quality Inn on Lincoln Street because you were trying to keep it real. You’re not a solider. You’re a fucking idiot. And if your Mom actually cared about you she’d tell you that too.

But that’s not the “culture” that his school’s (Doherty) Vice Principal Bernard Reese spoke about with Clive McFarlane last month.

When a significant difference exists between the students’ culture and the school’s culture, teachers can easily misread students’ aptitudes, intent, or abilities … Secondly, when such cultural differences exist, teachers may utilize styles of instruction and/or discipline that are at odds with community norms.”

Ya got that? Instead of Mom teaching her kid that this sort of lifestyle is gonna get him killed it’s up to the teachers to adapt their “styles of instruction and/or discipline that are at odds with community norms.” His Vice Principal actually said that. And a major part of this student’s “culture” is that getting shot is fucking bad ass. It’s a badge of courage. If you get shot and live you’re a hero. If you get shot and die then everyone makes t-shirts with your picture on it like you’re some sort of martyr.

Any good mother takes this kid’s phone and smashes it in front of him. If you really love your kid and want to outlive him or not visit him every Christmas in jail, then you need to put the fear of God into him. It’s not like the warning signs weren’t there with all the cash-money. He was also saying stuff like this:

ivj1j

Talking about getting a girl jumped for the world to see. Smart. Just a reminder that Mom and Dad are Facebook friends with him. They had access to this and allowed him to keep it up. Then there this:

ivis8

The kid is riding some type of motorized scooter, with obviously no license, all while taking pictures and posting them to Facebook. That’s a fucking deathwish. Once again Mom did nothing. Notice the hashtags too. I don’t know what “safo” is, but “#safogang” should’ve stuck out like sore thumb to any responsible parent.

The bottom line is this is yet another micorcosm into the world that teacher’s deal with in Worcester on a daily basis. If he doesn’t pass the standardized test and graduate in four years then it’s the teacher’s fault. Meanwhile what does he do the second he leaves school? Starts some sort of lucrative “business” (I wonder what business that could be) and gets shot a bunch of times at the Quality Inn. And teachers are supposed to magically overcome these insane distractions in his life and get him to prepared for college. Remember this story next time you hear a politicians talk about how schools are “failing” inner city kids. It’s not the schools, it’s the parents. Clearly they have no clue how to be parents, but that doesn’t stop them reproducing. Time for some mandatory government tube-tying. It’s for the good of society.

People are starting to give a shit less and less about their own children. They don’t have the instinct that I thought all parents had of wanting a better life for your kids. I see it everyday and I don’t get it . you’d think this would be the point she shut that media shit down. And examine how much worse this could have been and learn from it. I was a pretty bad kid and no one gave a shit . by seventeen I was a drop out with two kids ( insane right ) but even at that age I knew that I would be mortified at the idea of my children having the same shitty childhood I had. My youngest just left for college this year . It was a lot of getting in kids asses and filling their days with sports, drama clubs, instrument lessons, swim club, and ANY THING to keep them on the right track and around responsible adults. Lots of these mothers were teen mom’s just like myself but as soon as they started having kids the world saw us adults and emotional and mental growth stopped. Talk to some of these woman and its literally like talking to a 15 year old. This is sad and seems like not much will change and he’ll end up on a t shirt .

You know, this is just an all around sad situation. I really don’t feel like it’s appropriate to put this child on this site like this though. I understand completely the point being made, but at the end of the day, he’s a child who clearly needs love and proper guidance. Putting him on here like this so ignorant people can bash him and his parent is not going to help the situation at all. I know that wasn’t the purpose of this post, but we all know there will always be a few who will. I don’t know this kid, but I’m sure he had to of grown up watching these things go on around him, soaking everything in, that it is “normal ” to him and he probably sees nothing wrong in his actions. So I will not sit here and bash this child. What I will say, as polite as possible, is that his parents or whomever it is that has custody of this child needs to seek help for themselves. Something is wrong, either they grew up the same way so they think nothing of it, or they are more concerned with being a friend to their child rather than being a parent, or both. Unless they realize they are the problem and seek help so that they can properly help him then I’m afraid to say this child may not live to see 18. Let’s pray, that a positive figure comes into his life and shows him how to grow up to be a successful young man and not a buried “real nigga ” with his face on a t shirt of a bunch of fake niggas. ✌ excuse any grammar mistakes, I’m on my cell phone.

I grew up in worcester in the clark area. I went to doherty same as him. About halfway through highschool my parents (despite each working fulltime blue collar jobs) told me they would not be able to help pay or cosign for college. So I bussed tables for 3 years and payed my way through 3 years of qcc and now have a fine paying job with great benefits. We were both exposed to the same opportunities and lack there of. The difference was that my parents showed me how to work hard and use the opportunities i did have.

I am sure that he was just about to turn his life around…recently found Jesus…just passed his 9th grade MCAS and is excited about college…or all of the above. Probably too excited to sleep because he just read a great book, so of course he wanted to share the story with his friends at the hotel…or a combination of all of the above. Oh, and all the cash went to Haitian relief…

I grew up on the streets.. I witnessed everything this kid has if not more.. But guess what? I made the choice to get out.. How did I do so? By working my ass off that’s how.. My grandparents also grow up on the same streets.. but the only difference is back then there was no welfare no food stamps nothing no kind of government assistance.. They managed to raise 4 children work full time jobs and go to college full time.. They didn’t sell drugs or act like animals.. So my point is blaming I am a product of my environment is bullshit.. Life is what you make it.. Stop making criminals out to be victims.. The criminal in this case is his parents.. No child is perfect.. We all have done things behind our parents back.. But this child’s bad behavior was not behind his parents back.. They seen it and did nothing about it.. This was the end result..

I would like to add that this lack of parenting must be common in Worcester area bc I lived there a year with bf mom and teenage sisters and while she obviously wasn’t friends with the whole town the friends she did meet ALL appeared to have parents that didn’t give a crap, they were out all hours, having sec with everyone, thought it was cool to fight all the time for fun, even spoke of issues in their homes. I found it alarming so many of these girls had parents like this that just didn’t care. They came and went as they pleased at all hours underage smoking and drinking etc type stuff

After doing some facebook stalking, I can say the mother is human garbage. I guess she has at least 5 kids, and her attitude towards being a better parent is “whateva, nigga” with similar sentiments from all the hoodrats she knows.

I hate this city so much

To take this incident and use it as a scapegoat to advertise lawyers in a stretegic way that embeds them in the pictures you screen captioned off of this kids social networking, and some of them revealing his name, this is still a child. He is still a minor. With the right intervention, his life and his future can be saved. Not everyone is the child of good parents, but that doesn’t mean that every inner city kid is unworthy of oppertunity or a second chance or guidance. Instead if using this as a platform to make generalized unrealistic statements like “time for some mandatory tube tying for the good of society” why don’t you advocate for anti-gang violence programs or go to these inner cities yourself and talk to these kids since they have such bad parents?! This article seems really classist to me. You make a valid arguement, this kids parents should have been involved, maybe that would have prevented this lifestyle and shooting. But not everyone has great parents. And not all bad parents are inner city parents who need to get sterilized for the betterment of society. Do you know what it’s like to walk to school from your inner city neighborhood in Worcesters winters while your friends at schools parents drive them in their nice warm cars or buy them some?! Have you ever been exposed to drug addicts and homeless at the age of 12 or 13 on your walk home from school? Have you done anything for any of these kids who face this social divide EVERY day at Doherty high?! The separation between the cushy west side and downtown? Take a minute and consider what these kids go through. Count how many colleges you can afford to pay for with 6000 dollars of financial aide a year in this city! And how many inner city parents can cosign for student loans?! This is why these kids resort to the street. Sometimes all you have to eat is ramen noodles. Sometimes you can’t afford the 2 bucks a day for school lunch. It’s not easy to make it “out of the hood”. The system isnt full proof, and it’s especially easy to point fingers and make judgements when you’ve never had to wait at the food stamp office for 6 hours only to be handed a pamphlet and turned away. I don’t know the dynamics of this child’s life, but there are thousands of children who want to succeed and don’t have the means. They all have potential to make it. But not everyone has the recourses. When “I’m in love with the COCO” is playing on jammin 94.5 all week, it’s easy to get your priorities messed up. Let’s lift people up and find ways to prevent these incidents, not use them as a platform to fuel class on class hate.

This blog really bothered me. I dont know jackson personally but i have seen him around but i wouldnt go around worrying about someone you think is a “low-life”, i wouldnt take up my time worrying about someone elses life instead of mines. By the way “safo” means a friend that has passed away so before you go talking about stuff you dont even know meanings to you should check your facts before you go writing about it. He’s not the first nor the worst in worcester, theres has been far worse cases then this.

Ya its always “worrying about someone else’s life in stead of mines” until one of those 7 bullets that misses Capt Thug Life hits one of your kids sleeping in the hotel room or hits your wife in the head while shes innocently enjoying dinner at the hotel after a long trip…

But don’t go around worrying Fleur, after all, what could happen right? Its not the worst or first so screw it right? Its people like you who refuse to see the forest through the trees who make this city a shit hole.

Wait till a 3rd grader is paralyzed from asshole behavior like this and then lets see what you have to say then.

He was trying ro save his son from things like this by talking to him, he even told him to bmp please take down these photos. My friend is in great concern over his son, he cries and has a hard time sleeping thinking of his son. This man is a hard working man paying taxes, helping others and paying his bills.this kids mother took him from his father and she is the one who encouraged him to do this stuff. please do not point fingers or blame the father for this, he is a great man and wants his son back home with him to help guide him to be an honest hard working man…

Are you fucking kidding me!! That’s the “story” his ” father” is putting out there? He made 4 children with this boys mother and left them with her and her family, saying “it’s ok to leave the kids with their mother and her family, they’ll make sure the kids are fed and have a roof over their head”. But isn’t that the FATHERS responsibility and NOT the parent of the mother? Actions speak LOUDER than words. Since you know their father so well, why don’t you ask him when he actually started paying child support…and it sure wasn’t voluntary!!

If anyone blames the “culture” for making this kid and his parents thug wannabees, they also need to go. The people making rap videos are multi-millionaire businessmen ACTING. You think 50 Cent or Jay Z wants this little dirtbag anywhere near him or his family or anyone else in his orbit? If you do, you are even more stupid thatn this fool ass family of moochers.

Real gangsters are dead or dying in jail. They deserve it. Even the ones who owned politics and the judiciary. That time os OVER. Only morons who are prey for real sharks haven’t learned it yet.

If you think “jay-z” “50-cent” are the primary motivators for (insert jargon here) culture then you’re far disconnected from the reality of the youth. 16 year old white girls buy “jay-z” and “50 cent” “albums” where as the majority of the youth model from non multi-million-dollar entertainment moguls. I don’t want to lecture you on freshman trap/drill, but I would suggest looking into artists within Chicago or New Orleans as an introductory course. Maybe trying watching some videos by Lil’ Chief Dinero, Lil’ Durk, Meek Mill, Bobby $hmurda, Bigg Nounk, PTG, Tay600. Lil’ Reese, Lil’ Bobby, or Lil’ Herb to get a feel of the general ethos.

This is still a person, this is still someone’s life, this is someone’s son or sibling. You can’t control your child’s every move. So the parents aren’t to blame and a teen his age raised in a certain environment lives a certain way because it’s all he knows. Not everyone’s privileged and rich. All of these comments plus this article are bs. Judging off of social media like you know someone’s life is really ignorant of adults.

A 15 year old kid shouldn’t be out at that time at night. It is the parents fault for not having rules in place, that would have forced him to be home, where he belonged.

Getting shot is a hefty penalty for being out late, but they didn’t do anything to prevent it.

You make some valid statements as well as some disturbing ones. First and foremost, I’m not sure in what reality making an edgy comment about “tying their tubes” is appropriate. The United States has a dismal history with compulsory sterilization, and humanity has been plagued by the application of Eugenics on all sides of the spectrum. Second, this is not abjectly the parents fault. This lifestyle is marketed, sold, habituated, and enforced throughout popular culture. It is a trenchant demeanor that is projected seemingly everywhere. There are massive, systematic, and enveloping reasons why this is becoming the staus quo. By dismissing them and pointing the finger at specific individuals alone you’re literally continuing cyclic patterns.

On a positive note you make a decent point when discussing the detachment of student within school communities and the struggle facing academics.

Jesus Christ!!!! I have a daughter who will be 16 in a few days and this is really disturbing to me!!!! First off her social media accounts yes she is friends with mom and dad along with her grandparents and a few other that keep an eye on what she does. We have her password. That is the only way she can have social media!!!! If my daughter ever dared to post even 1 of the things this kid did she would have her ass kicked accounts banned and her phone gone. She would not be able to go any place with out parental supervision!!! I am so sick over this!!!! I guarantee this family lives in low income housing and that boy at the age of 15 has more money in his hand than most of us make in 6 months!!! To show that off to the world come on, there are people that see this and it is on the internet forever!!! His low income housing needs to go!!! Hey Ma your FLY son can help you pay full rent in a real apartment!! This drives me crazy because you know his parents are now going to blame everyone under the son except the little fucker they popped out! He is the problem, but this is the way he is parented so I guess it is all he knows!!! His parents should be locked up! I don’t usually agree with child services as they suck as well but I don’t think this boy should be allowed back home, he should be placed in juvenile detention and the key should be thrown away!!! If there are any other kids in that house they need a foster home!!! Your SON was out at almost 4 in the morning, what was he doing?? We all know, we are all pretty smart and can figure things out by his pictures!!!! So MA and POP is it a family business or is he the only money maker in the house??? Time to sew her vagina shut and chop off his fathers dick!!

His father? He’s a 15 year old soldia-boy gangster. The kid doesn’t have a father, not one that stuck around.

first of all, if you knew him you would realize that your shit and idiotic remarks were wrong, its not like he chose the life he is living, he was born into it and at times it might not be the best decision, but its not like he has a choice to do something that he isn’t accustomed to. his mother and him live in a ‘REAL’ apartment and pay the regular price for the rent. you having your daughters social media is definitely going to allow her to escape the path of a bullet*sarcasm* just in case your too ignorant. who are you to teach a mother how to raise her own children. I promise you that your daughter has done a lot more in her 15 years maybe even 16 that you know at all about. you being such an over protective parent is only going to cause your daughter to either rebel, or become the most stuck up bitch on this planet. your daughter most likely doesn’t even use her social medias and if so, she definitely has her OWN personal PRIVATE accounts to keep hidden from you and your psychopathic parenting styles.

Wow you’re (spell it right next time) kind of a douchebag. You talk about judging and ignorance like you’re an authority on the subject. You immediately judged her and then had the audacity to grill her about being ignorant when you can’t even use proper grammar. Don’t be an asshole, you don’t know any of these people so you have no right to judge them.

don’t know whether to laugh at the fact that you wasted your time critiquing the grammer used in my response lmao. it would be hell of a thing to do if I infact not know this young man but sadly enough i am a class mate so why dont you go do domething that is productive in life and stop wasting your time arguing about a 15 who got shot more times than you can even comprehend

Your assertion that just because he was born in to a bad situation means that he “doesn’t have a choice” about the way he acts is rediculous. He’s free like everyone else to see the world around him, beyond home, and make good choices. Especially having the benefit of the internet, which apparently he spends quite a bit of time on flashing his ill gotten gains. 15 years olds may have maturity issues, but they know right from
wrong. And a mother (or father) having their daughters passwords and monitoring her on social media isn’t exactly being overprotective, it’s called parenting.

It’s amazing how parents like you get on the Internet and bash other parents and their children like immature teenagers. Because the boy is young and black he must come from a low income family?? Living in housing?? You make me sick. And a foster home? You think that’ll make the situation better? Your the only fucker here stop bashing people on the Internet before you know the full story behind where they come from and their environment. People like you make me fucking sick! Get off the Internet and try making a difference in the real world!

Seems to me there’s a lot of unreported income in this family. If they’re getting public assistance of any kind, it should end immediately. Then the IRS should take a look at the situation and assess all the necessary penalties. The mother could be arrested for aiding and abetting income tax fraud, and I hope the kid could be arrested for tax fraud. If he wants to go down in history, then being the youngest person arrested (and hopefully imprisoned) for tax fraud would do it.
