Saw this headline yesterday and laughed out loud:

Two of the biggest problems for college students – finding jobs and paying back loans. Oh wait, you mean like adults have been doing for years? That’s messed up!!!

Look, I’ll be the first to tell you that college is completely overpriced. But that’s not because of tuition, it’s because of all the fees and room and board. Oh yea, and the fact that college presidents and professors are making six, sometimes seven figures a year.

With that said, it’s still a choice you’re making. No one has a gun to your head and is making you go to college. Plus, they interviewed 7 or 8 kids in this article, and only one of them goes to Worcester State. If you’re going to Holy Cross, WPI, Clark, or Assumption, you KNEW ahead of time that you were choosing to go to an expensive private school. You just didn’t think far enough ahead and now you want the government to bail your ass out because you were too good to go to state school.

Here’s a quote from the article in reference to why the kid is voting for Bernie:

“Our generation’s facing very different issues than what past generations faced,” she said. “I think he’s appealing to that.”

Yea, your generation is facing different issues. For instance, Russians aren’t aiming nuclear missiles at us anymore, the Japanese are no longer bombing us, and your ass isn’t in danger of being drafted to go to NAM. Your generation’s issues involving paying back money you freely decided to borrow, and finding a job. INSANITY!!!

There was hope for the future though. This is from a Worcester State sophomore named Alexandria Murphy:

“Education, from my standpoint, is a privilege – if you want it, you should pay for it,” said Ms. Murphy, who would be attending Worcester State at no cost under Mr. Sanders’ proposal. “Nothing’s free in America. Somebody would be paying (for free college) – one way or another, it would come out through taxes.”

Exactly. It’s a privilege, not a right. Let me explain the difference because it’s really simple. Privileges are things that cost money. Rights are free things that we are born with and are universal. We have the right to speak our minds, vote for who we want to vote for, pursue the careers we choose, and procreate in the manner we prefer. The ability to do those things comes at no cost. But education requires tangible things that cost money. Therefore, it’s not a right. We can CHOOSE as a nation to have free public education (and we do because it’s what is best for the country), but we don’t have a right to it.

Anyway, Bill Clinton is in town today for the 89th time to promote his wife, because Bill Clinton LOVES him some Worcester. The fact that his wife is only where she is now because she happened to be married to him, is the exact opposite of what feminism is supposed to be about. She stuck with him through all the cigars and the lies, because it was her plan all along to run for President, and no one wants to vote for the woman that Bill picked Monica Lewinsky over.

MonicaHillary

This is not a person Turtleboy can ever respect. It’s the exact opposite of what feminism is supposed to be about, and as you know, Turtleboy Sports is a family feminist blog. Feminism is about respecting yourself and earning things through merit. She has done neither. She is where she is today because she married a brilliant politician and disrespected herself by pretending to love him, despite all the infidelity.

That’s why Turtleboy will be voting for Bernie tomorrow. The machine is out in force mobilizing for Hillary, and meanwhile Bernie is the little Prius that could, mobilizing his campaign with a GoFundMe and the promise of free college. In Turtleboy’s opinion it is important to send a message to the establishment that we’re not taking their status quo anymore. We wanna watch Hillary squirm. So Turtleboy is voting with the kids, even though he laughs that the biggest things they have to worry about are basic things that people have been doing for centuries.

We urge you to support the Turtleboy Sponsors by doing business with them. Without them none of this is possible. Click on any of them to check out their sites or Facebook pages.

You want free college, no problem. I’ll give you free college, in return you give me your first three years after high school serving active duty in the military. You complete your part and I’ll make good on the education. Sound good enough?

Serving in the military is an evaluable life education in and of itself. You couple that with a college education and you are ready to tackle the world and succeed far beyond your wildest imagination.

It would be impossible to be any more confident and prospective employers will set you apart from the rest of the herd.

VEAP is how I paid for my education.

In today’s military, this is dumb.

You would need a four year investment. That’s the bare minimum, and that is for a MOS/rating that is not highly technical. Those jobs usually require 5 to 6 year enlistments. As currently active military, I would have no use for that type of influx of people. It would be more trouble to manage the masses, provide them healthcare to ensure their readiness, house and feed them, than the benefit they would provide. I would basically have active duty with a reservist schedule. You wouldn’t be creating a fighting force (unless there was a conflict). You’d just be giving us folks more people to train, more people to manage, and a higher turnover rate.

      No thanks.

Please be a tiny bit understanding of these kids. They lived in a world where they were told the future is bright and wonderful they were going to be the best gerneration then 9/11 happened and all that washed down the drain to leave them with a dim, uncertain, frightening future.

Also, the cost of college tuition has sky rocketed, even for public schools. Look at the cost of books alone, imagine being asked to pay $200 for 200 unbound pages. Then there are the tests they take but have to pay to use the testing website.

My degree cost me all of $15,000 in 1994. Its $30,000 now.

You know people, you have yours. We adults have messed up the economy with our debt and such then get mad when these kids complain? Well, thry are not the only ones who need reality checks.

Oh, and by the by, just because you are at the opposite extreme from something you don’t like, it doesnt mean you are not a crazy extremist. Extremism sucks.

Lastly, there is this story about a meeting between two politicians. One entered the race on the opposite side of the fence with the effort to gain the nomination then throw the race to other at the 11th hour.

    Have a nice day.

Ya ok great idea. Let’s just further coddle the young adults and add more insult to injury to the wussification of America. That will result in strong leadership and respect across the world. Ya ok.

Look, it’s all relative. Yes tuitions have risen in the last 22 years since 1994 but so has wages, salaries and now we have fucking virtual free Obama health care. Oh but tell me more about how bad things are for the young college freshman.

I joined the Army Reserves to help offset college expenses in addition to working full time at a restaurant and still needed student loans. But I know the attitude among many on why should they risk their lives for a college degree. I can partly understand this notion but unless you were from a family of wealth than your options are limited. Nothing is for nothing in this world so saddle up lassies, grow a pair and go grab a nice slice of life.

I lived at home and took 2 worcester buses to get to college. Why not live there ???? I couldn’t afford a car and I certainly couldn’t afford living on campus in a dorm with a meal plan. I worked loading trucks for spending money for weekends……

    I never complained.

The whole idea of raising taxes so these entitled spoiled little brats can go to college for free and not earn a higher education makes me sick. I had to work full time in a restaurant while in college and still took out student loans right on through to graduate school. It took seemingly forever to pay off once gainfully employed but I did what very other college student did back then.

And these little assholes will not work a blue collar job while trying to get a higher education and now do not want to repay a fucking student loan?

Please. Nice job Mom and Dad raising a useless waste of human space.

the stories are better when the reporters list the majors these butter cups typically study. Gender studies etc. Right now long haul trucking, accountants and engineering positions go begging. Even manufacturing jobs are out there. Not to many jobs for undergrad psychology or ethnic study majors.

All I ever heard in High School and College debate class was “Democrats dont want to give away stuff. They want it to be affordable to everyone.” Now its, “Fuck it, its all free if you vote for me!’

Its dumb shit like this and forcing people with obvious mental issues into our daughters bathrooms because “hes confused” or “He was born with the wrong junk.”

Or maybe the pushing of gay lifestyle into our kids Middle Schools in hopes that “IF” they might be gay at some point in the future, they arent feeling bad about it because we shoved it in the kids faces when they were in 5th grade with the “gay alliance clubs”.

Im sick of all this ultra libtard shit.

Trump is gonna kill these asshats and rightfully so. Its time we stasrted running this country based on whats right and wrong and not on feels

If college is ever made free, I’m filing a class action suit to get ALL of the money I paid for myself, and my kids for college, and EVERYONE will join me. Try it, commie freaks. Are college profs going to work for free now? Who the hell do they think is going to PAY for all this freeness??
