The Worcester Police Department has been taking a ton of shit for the botched SWAT team raid at an apartment on Hillside Ave. Based on inaccurate intel from a snitch, the State Police got a no-knock warrant from a judge, looking to apprehend yet another member of the infamous Jackson family. The problem was that Shane Jackson didn’t liv there. Brad Petrishan over at the Telegram wrote an article that basically shits all over the police and makes Worcester’s unfunny version of Saul Goodman, Hector Pineiro, out to be some sort of social justice warrior. In response the Worcester Police released this scathing rebuttal on their Facebook page:
“The after-action reports filed in the case contradict other media reports regarding the Massachusetts State Police search warrant that our SWAT Team was called to assist with the entry of 17 Hillside Ave. apartment 3. The reports which were written immediately after the SWAT entry reveals that our officers acted professionally, attended to the children in the home and allowed the woman in the home to immediately cover herself with a blanket for the entire operation.
The complaining party, Mr. Pineiro, can make any allegation that he wants to whether it is supported or unsupported and those allegations have to be investigated by the Worcester Department. But when you look at these initial reports written immediately after this entry, the professionalism of this unit and the protocols in place, lead one to question the integrity of the allegations being made against members of the Worcester Police Department SWAT Team.
The Worcester Police SWAT Team is trained and prepared to handle very dangerous situations. The officers, who are selected for this team, hold an important role within the department and they have always demonstrated a high level of professionalism. Of course when they make an entry, they are going to make a dynamic entry, it is going to be loud but the officers always maintain a high level of professionalism. Of the 22 search warrants executed by the SWAT Team since the beginning of 2014, no complaints have been filed aside from Mr. Pineiro’s most recent complaint.
When making an entry, the role of the SWAT Team is simply to secure the location as they did on August 19th. Their commands of ordering people on the floor, is to ensure safety by minimize the ability of occupants to access weapons. Vulgar language isn’t needed by the officers or tolerated. Also many home invasions conducted in the city involve street language and vulgarity. Officers would avoid this language so people wouldn’t confuse police as perpetrators of a home invasion.
These officers are well-trained and educated on how to make these entries. They don’t need to be rude or unprofessional.
Police officers are held to a high standard and when they sign their reports, they are attesting to the truthfulness of the report. If an officer submits a false report, then that officer is subject to disciplinary action including termination. What we have seen over and over with Mr. Pineiro is his so-called affidavits where false and unsubstantiated allegations are the norm and there are no sanctions against those who lie and those who encourage others to distort the truth for monetary gain.
Maybe Mr. Pineiro should examine his behavior as a lawyer and hold himself to the same standards that the men and women of Worcester Police Department are held to.”
Chief Gary J. Gemme
First of all Hector Pineiro is such a snake. I gotta give it to the guy, the man has found a completely legal way to be a complete asshole while making money off the backs of career criminals. He has sued the city over imaginary police brutality a million times and counting because he’s figured out a simple formula – it’s cheaper for the city to settle and write him a check than it is to pay lawyers to litigate. It’s literally cost the taxpayers millions of dollars over the years.
But Pineiro is what he is – a complete scumbag. We know this because he’s defending RBG for blockading Kelley Square, and we assume he’s doing it for free. Because if RBG can’t afford to buy his own drinks at the Sahara Restaurant, we have a hard time believing he can afford a high priced attorney who consistently delivers results of professional criminals.
We also know this because he raised his son to be a gang banger. Luckily his son is serving time for his role in a Fitchburg drug deal gone wrong shooting. But while he was awaiting trial on his father’s bail money, he was supposed to be staying monitored in his parent’s home. But in 2012 the ankle bracelet monitoring device magically stopped working and his son left his Chamberlain Parkway home. This is the type of person that Hector Pineiro raises.
Most importantly though, it’s fucking ridiculous that the cops have to apologize for using swear words. Do you realize where these guys are working on a daily basis and who they’re dealing with? They’re not accountants, they’re trained professionals who are tasked with taking down the most dangerous criminals Worcester has to offer. Who gives a shit if they swear? When your home is invaded by the SWAT team, it’s kind of a tense situation. You know, because you’re dealing with people with limited morals and a desire to remain free, who would have no problem putting a bullet through your head (assuming the SWAT team is raiding the right house).
Look, I do feel bad for the family that got raided, and there obviously needs to be better protocols in place to make sure stuff like this doesn’t happen. The State Police should’ve staked out the apartment for a week or so to see if there were signs that Shane Jackson was coming and going into that apartment, instead of just taking some guy’s word for it. Because the fourth amendment exists specifically to avoid situations like this.
But the Worcester Police had a job to do, and criminals don’t put their names on the mailbox and come out with their hands up. Most importantly though, this wasn’t their investigation. It was a State Police raid that utilized the WPD SWAT team. And police officers aren’t decision makers, they follow commands of their superiors just as anyone with a boss would do. So quit blaming the WPD because although there is plenty of blame to go around here, foul language on the part of police officers isn’t one of them.
P.S. Shut up Ol’ Man Gordon:
