Yankees Lost Play-in Game Which Means They Never Really Made The Playoffs And They Are A Joke

When you lose in the play-in game like the Yankees did to the Astros, it doesn’t count as actually making the playoffs.

The Red Sox might suck big ones, but at least this happened tonight:

Newsflash Yankees fans – if you lose in the play-in game, you were never really in the playoffs. Because the play-in game is the dumbest thing that has ever been implemented in any sport ever. They should either do it like the NFL and add a 6th team and give two teams a bye, or make this a best out of three. Everyone and their mother knew the Astros were gonna win this game because they had Dallas Keuchal pitching. And in a one game series, your starting pitcher is the only person who matters.

The only reason the Yankees even got the chance to play in this game is because they have the best manager in baseball – Joe Girardi. How in the hell he could win 87 games this this roster is beyond me:

Look at that $200 million abortion salad in all it’s splendor. The best part is the $153 million pinch hitter – Jacoby Ellsbury. That and the fact that their big money pitcher C.C. Sabathia decided that yesterday would be a good day to check himself into alcohol rehab. Because, when you’re one of the most overpaid players in all of sports you can quit right when you’re trying to get into the real playoffs.

Man, I’ve been saying Yankees suck for years now, but they really do suck now. It’s the curse of George Steinbrenner. The day that man died was the day the Yankees became just another team. Because I’ll tell you one thing – he would’ve burned New York to the ground before going three seasons in a row without making the playoffs. This is a collection of old guys and people I’ve never heard of before getting paid not to make the playoffs. All of them would’ve been fired months ago.

What’s totally bullshit is that this year the three best teams are all in the same division – St. Louis, Pittsburgh, and Chicago. Everyone hates the Cardinals, but it’s impossible to dislike either of the other two teams. What’s blatantly unfair is that one of them has to lose and technically won’t be in the playoffs either. Unfortunately it’s probably gonna be the Pirates because the Cubs are pitching Jake Arrietta, who is unhittable at this point. And the Pirates can’t hit. Actually, no one can hit in baseball anymore because baseball sucks without steroids. The Cardinals won 100 games this year and a grand total of ONE FREAKING GUY hit more than 20 home runs. That’s what the best team in baseball looks like without roids. I say bring it back.

I will say this – at least we’re seeing some parity in baseball. The Royals and Blue Jays are awesome stories. The Rangers came back from the dead this year. The Astros were the worst team in baseball two years ago. The Mets came out of nowhere this year, and the Dodgers are the Dodgers. I’d like to see the Blue Jays and the Pirates in the Series, but honestly, anybody except for the Cardinals. Fuck them and everything their sweater-wearing, midwestern Grandman fan base stand for.

P.S. Hey Astros fans, no one believes any of you actually follows or likes this team. This is what Houston fans look like tonight:

This is what they looked like in 2012:

Nice try.

Remember when the Yankees finished last in the division 2 years in a row? Oh, right that was the Sox.

    Jealousy is ugly. #27to8speaksforitself

    My WS prediction is:
    Toronto v. Cubs,
Cubs will it all in 6.
North Chicago goes crazy and that will be fun to watch! As long as Chicago doesn’t burn down again that is . No team should ever have to go 107 freakin’ years since their last WS title. That win would make Theo a hero again and Maddon a God.

That would be a good one but the Mets are still on the BobnMic hate list because of 1986. That one hurt.

I don’t hate the Mets or their fans, because they’re the only people who hate the Yankees as much as I do.

Valid point valid point. I’m on board with anti-Yankee stuff. It’s just when I hear the word New York Mets, I still hear broadcaster Vin Scully:

“So the winning run is at second base, with two outs, three and two to Mookie Wilson. A little roller up along first… behind the bag! It gets through Buckner! Here comes Knight, and the Mets win it!” (Even it was only game 6 but that right there set the tone).

Those wrongs have been righted since John Henry bought the Red Sox but still. Back in the 80’s we were used to winning as a kid growing up thanks to the Celtics.

The Patriots losing to DA Bears a year earlier probably made that 86′ Red Sox loss to the Mets all that much worse.

If I can move past the Oilers, you can pass the Mets.

I hate the Yankees but they made the playoffs…Just because you disagree with the format doesn’t somehow nullify MLBs procedures.

BTW Joe Girardi is ine of the biggest reason why the Yankees arnt going further in the playoffs. He burmt that Bullpen out. I mean seriously some of those realivers tossed more innings than some starters.

The Yankees played like a team of older players…they had an amazing April, May, June..then by July The Jays bulked up…and August/ September they were too old and too tired to keep up with Toronto..or anyone else

What? A Sox article saying how happy they are about a Yankee playoff loss?

Did I travel back to the late 90s?

I’ll say Joe Girardi was the best manager in the A.L. east this season but the rest of the A.L. pretty much gave the wild card to him for the exception of the Jays that were back and forth at first place with the spankees all year. Now Toronto won it – A!

Red Sox started off this season in first the first few weeks this year. And body remember that? But nobody that starts good then eats a giant shit sand which for the rest of year gets any recognition. Sorry.

C’mon Red Sox fans got to get over their obsession with the Yankees, and billy crystal is another Hollywood Jew with a fake name like robin Williams, joan rivers,Bette milder etc reminds me of that Jew Joseph Stalin who changed his name.sick fcks.

Us boston fans are better losers than winners, the “fans” here ruin a lot of great sports moments,a Yankee loss is not a win for us,this article is a loss for us. Wanna be yankees.
