Earlier in the year we wrote about this nudnik hippie from Colrain who caused this huge stir on the Facebook machine when she found out some kid (who she is not related to) was sent to to the “calm down room” at Hillcrest Elementary School in Turners Falls:

It was ridiculous because this Colrain hippie does NOT work in schools and she had absolutely no idea what she was talking about. Plus, why would anyone ever look at this person and take them seriously?

Schools have these rooms for a reason. Because sometimes kids get crazy and violent and they become a danger to other kids. And instead of putting them in a cage, schools put them in these rooms where they can calm down. And quite frankly, if your kid ends up in the calm down room, it means you probably didn’t do something right as a parent. Check out some of the winner parents complaining about the room. Just sayin.

Anyway, the Disabilities Law Center investigated the school after the Greenfield Recorder wrote this HUGE, one-sided, and clearly slanted expose on calm down rooms. All the loud-mouthed, white social justice warriors from Greenfield and the rest of Franklin County chimed in about how barbaric this was and how the kids really just needed more rainbow murals to fix their bad behavior. The teachers and administration at Hillcrest were vilified and The Recorder got a lot of clicks at their expense.

Well as it turns out the DLC has finished their investigation and reached the conclusion that Hillcrest Elementary School did nothing wrong. We are sure The Recorder reported this news right away. After all, they’re the ones who turned one Colrain hippie’s whining into a federal case. Surely they’d be the first to report on the DLC’s findings.

Oh wait, I forgot – The Recorder isn’t a real newspaper. This is the same newspaper who found the two biggest morons in Orange after a house burned down and killed two young girls, interviewed them, and then printed their insane lies that the Orange Fire Department didn’t do enough to save them.

The only newspaper that reported on this was the Montague Reporter, because Hillcrest Elementary School is in Montague:

What a joke. The Recorder has clearly shown that they will print anything in their rag that is critical of teachers, firefighters, and police, but they won’t do a follow up when any of these people are ultimately vindicated. This is like writing headline after headline about someone who was accused of rape or murder, and then not reporting about it when they’re found not guilty.

This is why people come to Turtleboy Sports. Because someone has to tell the truth.

The Disability Law Center (DLC) is the Protection and Advocacy agency for Massachusetts. DLC is a private, non-profit organization responsible for providing protection and advocacy for the rights of Massachusetts residents with disabilities. DLC receives federal, state and private funding but is not part of the state or federal government.
Because I wasn’t familiar with the DLC, I did a Google search to find out. Above, in their own words is who they are. First thoughts, how did it come about that they got the task of investigating this problem? Is the Hillcrest school a public school or is it for special needs only students or a mix of both? Because the TBS article only showed the front page beginning of the story from the local paper, it’s hard to determine the rest of the story. Take a look at their website to learn about them.

Hillcrest is a public school in the Gill-Montague School District. PreK to 1st grade.
We don’t call that paper the Greenfield Distorter for nothing.
