Everyone’s been buzzing about President-Elect Donald Trump chiming in on Twitter with his thoughts about Flaggate over at Hampshire College:

Obviously this is an insane and ridiculous thing to say. Everyone knows that burning the flag is a constitutionally protected act of free speech, despite the fact that it means you’re a self-centered attention whore.
But why are people acting surprised that Trump would tweet something like this? Where have you been living the last 18 months? This is what he does. He says crazy shit that he doesn’t even really mean without thinking. He’ll change his mind in a day or two, just like he did with his promise that he would prosecute Hillary Clinton, ban all Muslims, and put up a big ass wall. Everyone with a brain knew none of those things were actually gonna happen.
Speaking of Hillary Clinton, the failed presidential candidate actually sponsored a bill in 2005 that would’ve made flag burning illegal. It was right around the time that she spoke out against gay marriage as a Senator. But I guess it’s only crazy when Trump says meaningless words on Twitter, rather than a United States Senator sponsoring an actual real-life bill that would do the same exact thing.
Honestly, Trump is a businessman. And right now he’s in the business of getting re-elected in 2020. He saw that the biggest reason he was elected was the disgust Americans felt by watching the anti-American behavior from the people who oppose him the most. That’s why Turtleboy firmly believes that he did this as a trap he was setting for SJW’s. He KNEW he could bait them into burning the American flag on video:

And he KNEW when those middle-of-the-road Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan voters saw stuff like this, they’d want to vote for him again in 2020. Sheep gonna sheep.
My question is, are we gonna do this whole “Trump said something crazy” thing for four years? Because it’s already pretty old and tired. President Trump is going to say some crazy shit that will blow your mind. And you’re gonna be like, “wow, that’s fucking crazy!!” But nothing is crazier than the fact that he became President in the first place, despite the fact that he’s already said so much crazy shit during the campaign.
THAT is crazy. But it happened. And now we just have to live with the fact that a grown up child with a Twitter account is the President. Stop freaking out when he says crazy shit, because we all know he can’t actually follow through on any of these things. Our founding fathers designed the executive branch to be the weakest of the three. And they did it primarily because they realized that someday Donald Trump could be POTUS. So just chill out everyone, no one is going to jail for burning a flag.

Flag burning is disgusting and inflammatory. That being said, it’s unfortunately free speech. More local jurisdictions and municipalities need to enact laws discouraging the burning of shit in public, because they’re threatening public safety. That’s how to grab these assholes by the balls.
I saw on the internet that the terrible fires in Tennessee may have been caused by people burning flags. It must be true,right?
