Here’s something you don’t see everyday:

Wow. It takes a lot for a cop to arrest another cop, never mind a trooper arresting another trooper. And he’s from the same barracks!! He was arrested by a coworker. Holy shit, what did this guy do to make them hate him like that? Who fucked whose wife?

I’m gonna be honest, I don’t think this is a big deal at all. He went out drinking for New Years, and instead of driving drunk he slept it off in his car. It was also negative 10 degrees on NYE, so if you’re gonna sleep in your car you better have the heat on. Truckers do this routinely. This guy just happened to be drunk. Would it have been better if he drove home, or slept in the snow? I gotta go free my boi on this one. Dude has been on the force for 20 years:

That’s what makes this even more remarkable. One of his coworkers found him sleeping in a car. He didn’t hit anyone. He didn’t crash the car. He didn’t cause any damage. No one got hurt. And he still got arrested. Guess the CT State Police don’t play.

Oh, and of course the “you shouldn’t same people on social media” patrol is out in full force, whining about alleged double standards:

No morons. It’s not the same thing. WINY Radio usually shows hilarious mugshots of drunk drivers who crashed into shit or got pulled over for being all over the road. This guy did the responsible thing and slept in his car. The fact that this needs to be explained to you is sad.

Then there was Wally:

If you’ve had a “couple interactions” with a state trooper, then you’re doing life all wrong. Naturally Wally feels like he was “treated like a piece of crap.” Probably because they weren’t nice to him when he was arrested for selling cocaine:

What were the odds?

The fact of the matter is that he had to drive to where he was to “sleep it off”. In the process he could have hurt or killed any number of people including himself. The double standard is sickening for police but I’m glad the CSP showed some spine and made an example out of this choad.

That has to be the most grammatically incorrect title I’ve ever seen.

If CT laws are like MA, this is absolutely a reasonable OUI charge. The way the law is written in MA if you have the MEANS to operate a vehicle then you can get charged and convicted. So basically if you are in a car and have access to the keys. It sucks but that’s the way the law is and these troopers were just doing their job by enforcing it.

Just curious. How would this law apply for an RV at a campground. Or two drunk people sleeping in a car? Charge them both?

    Are you serious?
Found behind the wheel, most likely inebriated, loud music playing. Residential neighborhood. 2:00AM. Unless he was in his driveway I say he needs to face the facts.

    Simple Googling gives me this:

Patrick R Dragon lives at 6 River Walk Drive Brooklyn Ct.

So the cop passed out in his driveway. My bet is that he barely made it there. Or maybe he was having an NPR moment?

So, he’s at home. 2:00AM. Day after New Years Eve. Enough of an annoyance to the neighborhood that the cops are called. Cops come, tap on the window of his car (or more probably some oversize truck). Guy inside, after more than a few taps on the window, comes too. More than likely gets a bit belligerent. Now you’ve got 2 cops pissed off. Guess who wins? Yeah, the sober one.

So, if this (former) cop can prove that he was home all night, and was just getting away from the wife/family/inlaws/outlaws he’s got a case. But if he was anywhere else that night, if he rang in the New Year at an establishment? Then he’s toast.

    CT is for the dogs.

That’s fkn horrible! A man is dying in the road and the person who is suppose to help him, or at least be there with him so he doesn’t feel alone if he dies before help arrives. Is stealing his money and jewelry. I know this stuff happens but watching this video was a eye opener. I hope the family got some justice from this waste of life has done to them. Such a heartless person.

  • What happened to TB?
    January 19, 2018 at 4:34 pm

TB way off on this one…..why should this trooper be treated any differently. Anyone one of us passed out drunk I. The drivers seat of a ry. Ung car would be charged with DUI and so should this guy. He didn’t make the right decision…..he passed out!

TB way off base…..Nice job by the arresting officer. TB is being very hypocritical in this post…..a judges daughter can’t get special treatment but TB thinks a passed out trooper should? Wrong

I am going to agree with TBS on this one, but I would stress, it should be for anyone in the same situation. If it is cold as fuck out, call a cab. But if you cant get a cab, then sleep it the fuck off. The court test should be, could a cab be had, or is there evidence of trying to get a friend for a ride? If it is no on both counts, then guess what, drop the OUI. The DMV thing, thats a tough one, they operate by their own rules man. So IDK, loss license for a bit, but learn a lesson? Seems contradictory.

In any case, I am glad Caramel was found safe and it headed home, as soon as I heard, I instantly bursted a big Brittny Arsenault marshmallow gravy wad in my best skivies. Fucking shyt rolled all the way down my leg pants and all over my boot. Now the stuff is all frozen on my boot, looks sorta of cool, but do I tell anyone what it is and that caramel and Britt are the motivating factors behind it? Whats a turtle to do???!!!

  • You're a hypocrite, Turtleboy!

I gotta ask, in the last picture the guy behind and to Trooper Dragon’s right – is that there new opiod crisis officer? Dude looks like he’s been working UC on the OC’s for way too long.

Also, the Captain from Captain and Teneille last name is Dragon. Wonder if they’re related.

I had a friend who was charged with DUI for sleeping in his truck in the driveway at someone’s home that was having a party. The argument was that he was too drunk to drive and was just trying to sleep it off. He couldn’t have left without other people moving their cars so that he could and his intention was really just to sleep. The police said that he can be charged with OUI just because the keys were in the ignition. He fought it. Got a great lawyer and won in court but still lost his liscense because he was found guilty with the RMV. So even though he paid all that money at court and won, they still took his right to operate. You can’t have the keys in the ignition if you have had something to drink. If he was sleeping and the keys were in his pocket it would have been okay. This is where it doesn’t seem fair, you are trying to follow the law and not drive drunk. But you put the keys in to listen to the radio or to get heat and then they have you. At least he didn’t go out and drive and kill anyone.

In Mass you can’t even have the keys w/in reach and be drunk. They need to be in the trunk. Technically, if a car is running, it is in ‘operation’.

        January 19, 2018 at 6:58 pm

That’s exactly what they said. But what was crazy is that he may have won in court, but still was found guilty as far as the RMV concerned.

Your supposed right to drive is actually a privilege which can be.revoked by the RMV. He can always appeal it to the RMV. The RMV and the court system are 2 different entities.

Thank you. That was what I was trying to explain. He did take the breathalyzer and lost his license for a certain amount of time. He did end up getting it back while the trail was going on for the DUI charge. His lawyer did win in court and he was not found guilty of DUI and had no criminal charges for it on his record. He received a letter in the mail about four days later telling him that on a certain day his license would be suspended. He brought all court papers to the RMV and They said just winning in court means it’s not on your criminal record but you still will suspended by us. The oringal arrest was in 2007. The case was resolved in 2009. So just because you win in court, don’t expect to keep your license.

Do you know the exact wording of the law regarding this? I ask because of key fob cars like mine; I can start that bitch as long as the keys are within range of the vehicle, and it will stay running until I manually shut it off; I know because my fiance has run into the package store before, and the car will alert when the key is out of range. So, let’s say I’m drunk, and I start my SUV, and I bring the keys back into someone’s house… Gray area? Keys aren’t on my person, but the car is technically in operation (though I’m not sure if it will let you put the car into gear/drive away with the key out of range).

SVU it sounds like your buddy refused the breathalyzer. That’s an automatic license suspension. He didn’t lose his license because the RMV “found him guilty.” He lost it because the law is that a refusal results in suspension.

        January 19, 2018 at 7:01 pm

No he actually took the breathalyzer and lost his licsense for a certain amount of time and then after he lost it again even after winning in court. It sounds crazy and I get that but it is really what happen

The registry of motor vehicles have Their own laws in reference to driving to endanger, drunk or on drugs. Yow will never win against them and will pay tons of $ to get your license back. If you don’t drive under the influence you will be fine.

They just recently changed the law in mass. about people who had a drug charge having their licsene taken from them. It was a mandatory suspension of their licsene even if they weren’t driving at the time the offense occurred. A lot of states still have that law.
