Donald Trump won 49 out of 50 Worcester precincts. Guess what the only one he lost was?

We’re gonna have lots to say about the election and Super Tuesday later on, but before doing that we thought this was pretty interesting. Donald Trump dominated Worcester, just as he did the entire state (which is why we didn’t bother with the Republican ballot), winning nearly 50% of the vote in the Woo. Worcester has 50 precincts where people go to vote, and Trump won 49 of them. Guess which one he lost:
Ward 2, Precinct 5. As you can see by looking at those numbers, clearly that is a precinct where no one gives a shit. Traditionally it ranks 46th out of 50 in voter turnout. A grand total of 37 people took the Republican ballot, and nearly half of them voted for Ted Cruz. Guess where precinct 2-5 is?
You guessed it. Good ol’ Great Brook Valley. Breeding ground of the notorious WANDA herself. If you’re not from Worcester, or you’re not familiar with GBV, it’s a housing project with a very large concentration of Spanish speaking people. The only reason we find this interesting or relevant, is because this was the ONLY precinct that Ted Cruz won. And Ted Cruz ended up finishing 4th in Worcester. Marco Rubio and John Kasich, both of whom beat Cruz in Worcester, did not win a single precinct.
Why do we bring this up? Because it shows that even in 2016 people will still blindly vote along ethnic lines. It seems ridiculous and silly, but it’s a major factor in politics. If your name ends in a vowel, you’re going to do well on the east side, particularly near Shrewsbury Street where all the old Italian people vote for whoever sounds the most Italian on the ballot. If you have an Irish or Jewish sounding name, you’re probably gonna do well on the West Side. And if your name is Ted Cruz, you’re pretty much guaranteed to rock the shit out of Great Brook Valley.
My question is, how come Marco Rubio couldn’t beat Trump in the Valley? Did they all think he was Italian or something? Because Marco Rubio definitely sounds like an Italian dude.
Anyway, more hot election takes coming later. This was just an appetizer.

You’re stating anything new with this article. Yes, people typically side with those who are of the same ethnic background (Demographically think China Town, Southie), why do you think Trump is heading up Republican Party? I know it’s not because of all the African American or Hispanics voting for him. To deduce that he lost due to bandwagon ethnic voting is foolish. He only lost by 7 or so votes. You’re basically saying the residents of GBV are too stupid to vote based on sound judgement. Furthermore there are a few other precincts with low REPUBLICAN voting turnout, this does not mean they did not. Perhaps they voted democratic.
If Trump is elected me and my boyfriend are moving to Canada.
I wont stand for any more holocausts like the one we had in Albania!
Bye Felicia !
Did you mean Armenian there buddy?
TOTALLY agree….Hispanics will vote for hispanics (someone telling GBV that Cruz is Cuban not PR might sway a few out of the whopping 31,) but let’s not forget that Worcester is NOTORIOUS for the “Irish Vote…” Second to that is the “Italian Vote,” so it happens along all ethnic lines.
I worked in GBV several times when I was employed by a plumbing company in the city. It was definitely a hostile area. In the middle of one day of work there, we were approached by a young Hispanic man and told that we were done working for the day and should leave. When we explained that the job wasn’t finished and we still had work to do, He told us “no, you don’t understand, you’re done for the day. There’s some people coming around soon that don’t want to see your kind here ( we were all white) . We packed up our stuff and left and told the boss to find another company to finish the work. we weren’t getting paid for combat duty.
I believe it. I heard many years ago that even the fire department and EMS crew dread going up there because they get harassed by the residents.
The WRTA had to put a cop on the Lincoln St bus because people were shooting at it.
Kitty kicker your absolutely right and that’s why the democrats want all the illegal aliens to have all this free shit and also no identification /drivers license I D card checks at election time it’s like buying the votes
Democrats huh… I seem to recall many business-minded Republicans (Trump and W, for instance) being absolutely in love with illegal immigrants because they were a nice source of cheap labor.
My question is, how are there 37 Republican voters in that area? Usually they align with the Democratic Party, because they get more stuff from them, like “Obama phones”!! They don’t vote for the candidate based on his/her views on important issues. They typically vote for what the candidate represents…probably an unpopular opinion, but very true!! I have heard firsthand a woman who resides there state, “I’m voting for ‘Bama’, Cuz he’s gonna give me a free phone”! Pretty sad that a candidate can win an election because a very large percentage of voters, who couldn’t tell you one single thing about the actual candidate, will vote for the person rather than the ideologies and political stances!
The point that was attempting to be made was one of name association. Cruz is somewhat thought of as Hispanic . Given the make up of the population in the “valley” the inference is that the few people that bothered to vote went with the name. He’s one of us. I think he’s related to my cousin back on the island.
Wwy sorry but GBV was not built for vets from Vietnam. It and Lakeside were designed for post WW II and Korean war vets. At that time it was seen as temporary affordable housing for those returning from military service and entering or returning to the workforce.
I’m guessing that you never served in the military.
Key word is “temporary.” Those veterans, who this country owed everything to, worked their behinds off to have a home of their own and a better life. It’s time we started taking from the gimme crowd and taking care of our veterans, but that’s a rant for another time.
The country owed them a lot but also gave them a lot. The myth of the “Greatest Generation” doing it all without any help from the government needs to stop. They fought a war and did it wonderfully, but they also were recipients of more government money than any other in history (until the baby boomers, they’ll break us). They had the new deal programs, the post-war programs, then they were the first to collect Social Security and Medicare in large numbers, then W gave them more Medicare. They deserve a great deal of respect, but the fiction needs to stop.
They also were raised through the hardest depression of the 20th century. They grow up and get drafted into a WWII. They come back and yes, garner benefits from a grateful nation. stay positive and build the country rather than tear it down (like all the knucklehead Sanders supporters and welfare mothers from the past 40 years). I’d say they are a ton greater than any generation since theirs. Be grateful as your name may have been Schicklegruber or not even be here at all. Not a myth
The point was for vets returning home like Vietnam vets who lived there. When it was time for my service the Iraqi holocaust was going on so I passed.
GBV was built for vets after Vietnam. Now they live in shelters,so drug dealers can make the city more money. So TB is right when he says GBV is like the Cubans running against trump just drug smugglers. Kick them out we have many vets coming home from a couple of other foolish “wars” that benefitted only Israel and Saudi Arabia.
No, it was built for vets after wwIi
yup, I’ll be that guy…”hispanic speaking people”????
Ha Ha!
GBV is everything wrong with America..3rd,4th,5th generation public housing families bred and raised to be leaches of society. White, Spanish, black 98% of the people in there are fucking deadbeat pieces of shit who will never amount to anything
