Last year I wrote a couple blogs for Turtleboy about missing East Bridgewater teenager Shaina Hauter. It was the second time in less than a year this happened. Then it happened again a month later. Her picture was shared thousands of times on Facebook and everyone was worried she got kidnapped. Law enforcement spent thousands of dollars looking for this girl, only to find out she had runaway to Wareham with her boyfriend. Well, she recently went missing AGAIN:
Turns out she just ran away again and they found her shortly afterwards:
According to her mother she ran away with her boyfriend Shawn Raymond last time:
A quick Google search of this winner tells you about the time he was robbed in an armed home invasion, allegedly from punks who were stealing his vast collection of Air Jordan sneakers. It just so happens that he was arrested months earlier because he was dealing drugs. So I’m SURE his home was invaded this time over sneakers. Definitely. The SWAT team even came out to look for the sneaker thieves, but were unsuccessful in finding them.
I guess I understand the appeal for Shaina at least. I mean, who wouldn’t wanna runaway into the loving arms of this face?
Looks like McCauley Culkin at the end of My Girl. The man oozes sex appeal.
Look, I don’t know anything about this girl. She might be coming from a messed up home and I’m not going to judge her personally because she’s a kid. But I will say this – we need to differentiate between kids who have been kidnapped and teenagers who are running away with their boyfriends. Because there’s a HUGE difference. How many times are we going to freak out over the same kid and put out an all points bulletin? This girl is of legal consenting age to make bad decisions. It’s not like the cops can even arrest the guy she’s with, so what are we supposed to do? A seven year old kid being stuffed in a van isn’t the same thing as this. By putting them all on the same site for missing kids we lump them all in together.
More than anything, shouldn’t kids who have a past history of running away have ankle bracelets or something? I mean, if they have a past history of doing it and we’re really worried about them, wouldn’t this make sense? Nah, let’s just put them up on missing posters every time they run away with their boyfriends. Makes sense.
