Here Are The 7 State Troopers Who Voted To Pay For Dana Pullman’s Legal Fees With Union Dudes Despite Stealing From The Union, Includes Trooper Convicted After Drinking And Driving

Yesterday I published a blog on the corrupt Mass State Police Union executive board members who voted to continue to pay disgraced former union President Dana Pullman’s legal fees, even though he’s accused of blowing their union dues on his mistress and other extravagant bullshit. We found this out after the new union president Mark Lynch sent out a letter calling them out for it.

We knew there were 7, we just didn’t know which 7.

Our sources with the MSP have confirmed that these are the 7:

  • Kevin Frechette
  • Eddy Hunter
  • Tim Gillespie
  • Jeff Gilbert
  • Paul Crowley
  • Dale Jenkins
  • Paul Powell

Trooper Hunter was listed in an August Masslive story for donating over $26K to politicians. It should be noted that in the criminal complaint against Pullman it alleges that “several” board members followed Pullman’s guidance and donated to candidates he directed them to.

Authorities also said that Pullman embezzled union funds and encouraged others to do the same to cover the cost of political donations and personal meals. The criminal complaint states that “several members of the e-board” followed Pullman’s guidance and submitted fake expense reimbursement requests to the treasurer,” though it did not name the executive board members who took part. Pullman and three constitutional officers who worked with him regularly made political donations to lawmakers in Massachusetts, including House Speaker Robert DeLeo, Rep. Angelo Puppolo and Sen. Michael Moore.

While affiliated with the association, Pullman paid at least $34,325 in donations to Bay State politicians, including $24,950 between 2012 and 2018 when he served as president, campaign finance records show. His top recipients include Moore, DeLeo and Puppolo. Timothy Babbin, the association’s vice president, paid $10,625 between 2012 and 2018, according to campaign finance records. Edward Hunter, the association’s secretary, paid $26,225 during that time frame. Andrew Daly, the association’s treasurer, paid $20,300.

Now he’s voting to pay for Pullman’s attorney fees, even though Pullman stole from the union. Why would anyone do this if Pullman didn’t have some sort of dirt on them? Hmmmm….

Then there’s Trooper Gillespie, who Pullman filed a motion to be besties with while facing trial because they’re BFF’s.

Dana Pullman, the former Massachusetts State Police union president facing federal charges, wants permission to keep in touch with two longtime friends, both of whom are current or former members of the union’s executive board. Pullman, in his motion to clarify conditions of his pre-trial release, states one former and one current member of SPAM’s executive board are longtime friends. Tim Gillespie, a current board member, is a close family friend, Weinberg wrote.

“Mr. Pullman and Mr. Gillespie traveled together on SPAM business and also attend charity events together,” the motion reads.

Both men are listed as current or former representatives of the various troops within the state police.

“It is an unavoidable truth that, notwithstanding the presumption of innocence, the mere accusation of criminal conduct deeply burdens a defendant’s life,” Weinberg wrote. “Mr. Pullman should not, however, be required to terminate decades-long personal relationships because of the government’s apparent skepticism that he will comply with his legal obligation to refrain from discussing the case with potential witnesses.”

Oh look, his good friend didn’t think to recuse himself from the vote. Gillespie happens to be the rep from the Logan Airport barracks as well. Logan is generally where you the highest paid troopers end up before they retire with a golden parachute.

Trooper Gilbert represented Ryan Sceviour, the trooper who refused to change the arrest report for Alli Bibaud, leading to the biggest scandal in state police history. According to Masslive Gilbert advised him that he would be disciplined if he didn’t alter the report.

Fogarty told Sceviour and Conant he was ordered to issue them negative “supervisory observation reports” and to give them reprimands for including some statements made by Bibaud in the report. The troopers were with Trooper Jeffrey Gilbert, a union representative. Sceviour was advised by his union representative that if he refused to make the edits and deletions, he could be charged with insubordination and subject to being fired.

And finally there’s Trooper Dale Jenkins, the rep from Troop A. Give him a Google:

In November 2016 he was convicted of negligent operation causing serious bodily injury and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, from his involvement in a May 2014 off-duty crash in his 1965 Chevrolet Corvette coupe that critically injured a passenger. He beat the DUI though:

The crash happened after Jenkins invited a group of male friends and relatives to his North Andover home for a fire-pit gathering and to discuss an upcoming camping and rafting trip. Witnesses testified the men were drinking beer and passing around two whiskey bottles. Taking the stand in his own defense last Wednesday, Jenkins testified he drank three beers and a sip of whiskey in the four-hour period prior to the crash.

Nothing to see here though folks. This is what “reform” looks like under Charlie Baker.

You think Pullman is bad? Dig deeper, my friend. Mark Lynch (the new president hack of SPAM) was formerly in the VFAST unit, aka violent fugitive apprehension section, got shit faced one night and while driving his unmarked cruiser ROLLED his cruiser on the highway. The whole crash was covered up and he was kicked out of the unit. No one can stand this guy, just ask the detail office who locks their doors when they would see him in the hall because he would try and get all of the “4 hour details, paid for 8” gigs. Lynch is just as much of a fraud in the uniform as Pullman.

Most of the troopers I know are great guys. You can’t paint an entire organization because of the actions of a few. Because t we’re all adults and should know that

Well if you expect the leadership to “clean house” what better way to start than to divide the Union?

Jenkins head appears to be solid skull, a couple of empty eyes glued on to give him the look of reanimated roadkill, with shorthairs dyed a French yellow.

There are plenty of good Troopers.
You never notice them because they aren’t tromping on their dicks with both highly polished jackboots. They’re also not going out of their way to fuck with everyone.
Then there’s the perpetual assholes, infamous for giving shitloads of attitude and not an ounce of leeway or discretion. No shortage of these characters.
Add to them the schemers, scammers and all-around scallywag SOB’s that are now getting picked off like a dumbass soldier silhouetted against the sky as they walk the ridgeline.
For these foolish fucks, their hubris and greed will be their undoing as their antics are exposed under the harsh light of day.
Maybe this is a blessing for the public and the agency. Once the dust settles, the hard-ons in French blue will be a much thinner herd and the reasonable, genuinely decent Troopers will still be around.

    We can only hope.

7 thumbs down and 7 Troopers named, hmmmm.
I guess they ride the turtle even when the turtle is raw dogging them.

Interesting that the plainclothes troopers (who do the major investigations) voted to not pay the union thug and the uniformed ones voted yes, do it.

A state cop speeds through a construction zone this past summer in Charlton in an F150 and broadsides a woman. Three witnesses all say the same thing: woman had reached a complete stop before proceeding and the cop was speeding. Staties show up to chase off the townies and the woman is cited. Description on the citation is factually incorrect about time and circumstances. Woman is found at fault. Corruption at MSP is alive and well.

No surprise if one knows how the state is run. Hacks, cliques, coatholders, authority groupies, sellouts, etc. This is par for the course. The state is dirtier than one can imagine!

At least the union didn’t have to pay for Jenkins lawyer. His mommy paid all of his bills because she owns a security business in Everett.

jenkins “it’s like that” response when he was nabbed for drunk driving by the local pd and damn near killed someone through the windshield of an old vette is classic msp….being a statie, he understood duty of care protocols and knew that once the “investigation” started, he needed to stop it pronto….and voila…he had “chest pains”….duty of care protocol for first response police/ems is then to provide care and not conduct an investigation…so no roadside sobriety, no beathalyzer, etc….the investigation is immediately postponed.

once at the hospital, he declined to provide any evidence that would aid prosecution (blood, etc) and hey look at that…while he loses his license because that’s the law, he didn’t lose his job because he was never convicted of driving drunk because he found a way around providing evidnce that he was drunk to the police…and today, he’s still a trooper. skirted the law through process.

he’s a sly ole dog, that trooper jenkins. if only we as the poor unwashed understood the ins/outs of policework and first response like mr. jenkins.
