The Summer of Love 2015 continued in Worcester yesterday as Mayor Joe Petty led a slum sociable through the heart of Main South with some of his mayor friends from Newton, Revere, Chicopee, and Brockton yesterday. Basically what happened is they showed some of these out of town big wigs some pictures on a slideshow from Main South in the early 90’s. Then they brought them through the Kilby Street area to show off how Worcester is the model city for economic development.
If you haven’t been down to that area, the housing looks newer. But don’t let looks fool you – Kilby Street isn’t a place where anyone would want to live unless they were just out of options. Of COURSE newer housing looks nicer than older housing. But it doesn’t change the fact that the new housing is still on a street named after the most infamous gang in Worcester. That’s why when you see images like this:

Anyway what happened right after it was over? Yup, you guessed it – some more people got shot. This time on Harding Street. And in true Worcester gangster style, no one got hurt. Because Worcester gangsters are the worst shooters in the history of gun play. From Masslive.com:
“According to witnesses, there was an exchange of gunfire between two dark colored motor vehicles,” police said. “The vehicles were both traveling south on Harding Street. Police were informed that males from both vehicles were leaning or hanging out of the passenger side windows firing at one another. Both vehicles were heading toward Kelley Square when the shots rang out. There were no reported injuries in the gunfire.”

But to get to where it is today was all possible because of Community Development Block Grants from the federal government, and Mayor Joseph M. Petty invited mayors from other cities to get a close look at how the city has used the money in the Main South neighborhood.
LOL. “To get to where the city is today.” I fucking LOVE that phrase. Because as you know, things are going GREAT in Main South right now. Sure gangs are running rampant and 40 year old men dressed like extras in a 1991 hip hop video are harassing the gang squad while the investigate all these shootings. But besides that it’s basically Shrewsbury at this point. Only a matter of time until a Whole Foods opens up on Beacon Street.
But it wasn’t easy getting to this point. It took a lot of work and commitment from the community. That’s why the city dumped all that money into Mosaic Cultural Complex and other for profit illegal organizations so they could blockade our streets. Money well spent!!
The best part is yesterday’s shooting took place at 5:45 on Harding Street – a one way street in the Canal District that empties into Kelley Square. That should be good for business.
The bottom line is that Joe Petty continues to be the biggest poopsmooch of a mayor this city has ever seen. While he’s trying to convince his fantastic friends that he’s figured out how to fix a city, it’s actually just become more broken under his watch. Business in the canal district has steeply declined since this spat of shootings began. Particularly since two of the shootings in the past week have been in that area.
Two of our sponsors – the Union Tavern and Smokestack Urban Barbecue – are located in that area. If you get the chance, show the gangsters that they don’t run this city and they don’t scare you. Go down there and get some ribs and a couple brewskis and enjoy your summer evening. Because let’s be honest, they’re not gonna shoot at civilians, but even if they did, they’re probably gonna miss anyway.

I am told that nobody from the “Kilby” gang live on Kilby street at all anymore. They just carry out that name because they are from Main South. Since they have built the Worcester Boys and Girls club, they have done a lot to clean up that area. It definitely wasn’t because of Petty either. These politicians definitely need to wake tf up and do something about this Gang rivalry, its really getting old. I am sure that the old school Kilby gangsters can’t even believe that they use guns now. That doesn’t make them out to be tough guys after all…they are the new weak link gangsters…God forbid they use their fists, they just might get hurt…dumb ass punks.
I’m surprised it took Worcester this long to become New Jack City. I think it has more strip clubs and dollar stores than anything else. When I bring friends back to my hometown for a visit, they describe the city as looking “unfinished.” There is nothing downtown, and to add insult to injury, now a bunch of second generation thugs are having daily shootouts. This shouldn’t take more than a week to fix: bring in the crime trucks, bring in those sexy gang unit fellas with the vests, and search every idiot wearing tims and a wifebeater. Lets profile a little more. Because I know my dad isn’t out there at 3am fighting over a dime bag of weed and claiming Kilby Posse.
I’m not a local but you believe that gangs are on kilby St. It’s Worcester they are all just a bunch of low life bums tryna make a name. They’re all cowards with nothing to live for with prostitute mother. I say take them out rather than give them glory. No one will miss them they are all a bunch of stupid losers molested as children and can’t get over their issues.
Petty’s playbook is one page deep. Page 1: string together meaningless cliches, smile, wave, leave.

Each of those units cost as much to build as a McMansion in Rutland. How is it that affordable housing costs more to build/develop than unaffordable housing?
How can he show up at all these events and still have a job in Boston. Oh, that’s right. It’s one of the no show jobs but they tell you not to continue to have your picture taken when your on the clock.
Kirby, worcester’s most famous gang made more famous when you post pictures glorifying it’s members! Pick a side or admit your error already.
