Hey Turtleriders we need your help again. There’s a dipwad on the run and he needs to be found. From the Tewksbury Police
On March 3, 2017 the Tewksbury Police Department arrested Alan Feliz, 19 of 10 Campo St., 2nd Fl, Lawrence for larceny over $250 from a victim over 60 years old.
Feliz was arrested after an investigation was conducted into a fraudulent money transaction at the Tewksbury Wal-Mart. TPD was able to track down Feliz after it was confirmed that the $2,275 he picked up was from a well-known, “your grandchild is in jail” scam. The victim was 82 years old out of Tennessee.
There are many scams like this one that people are falling victim to with many variations. If someone calls you asking for money, call your local Police Department and check with us before you become a victim. We have seen some of these scams even threaten the lives of loved ones and say they are being held hostage asking for money, or more recently thousands of dollars in gift cards.
We believe that Feliz did not act alone and will continue to investigate the matter. We are seeking the whereabouts of Bryan Soto who was with Feliz. Soto is believed to be from Lawrence with ties to New York. Anyone with information is asked to call Tewksbury Police.
Feliz was arraigned on March 6, 2017 at Lowell District Court.

The solution is simple. Make these types of crimes capitol offenses, punishable by death. Identity theft, bank/credit card theft, and scams such as this are horrific offenses that hurt a lot of people, but I don’t think the government really takes this seriously because it’s a lot easier to prosecute a toll evader and to turn it into a revenue-enhancing scheme. The same can be said about those who pose as government officials or agencies, whether by telephone or through email or a website. Very serious crimes, in my opinion.
Old people are stupid and deserve to get ripped off if they can’t smarten up.
