A couple weeks ago Boston Mayor Marty Walsh announced that Boston would have a new poet laureate named Porsha Olayiwola.
I'm proud to be able to appoint Porsha as Boston's new Poet Laureate. Porsha's eagerness to enhance the City of Boston through poetry, along with her commitment to increasing access to the arts in every neighborhood, make her an incredible asset. https://t.co/Hml41TjBMe
— Mayor Marty Walsh (@marty_walsh) December 17, 2018
Yes, that’s a thing. And the taxpayers pay for it. Because who cares if your roads need repair, your children’s teachers don’t have enough supplies to adequately educate your kids, and your taxes never stop going up. The City of Boston cannot function without a poet laureate.
Guess what her politics are?
Oh man, I totally would’ve guessed that she’s a Trump supporter. Turns out she’s just a Fascist who tries to “shut that shit down” every time someone with a different political opinion tries to exercise their constitutional right to free assembly. Probably why she supported the I-93 blockade a few years ago, in which a bunch of unemployed white people shut down Boston’s busiest highway during the morning commute and prevented people with jobs from getting to work, along with ambulances from getting to the hospital.
WBUR was predictably slobbering all over her when the announcement was made.
“I’m still in shock,” Olayiwola said. “But I’m excited about what work will be possible with these resources.”
Mayor Marty Walsh appointed Olayiwola, a Jamaica Plain resident, to the four-year term, which includes a stipend. The Poet Laureate position was established in 2008 as a way “to highlight literary arts and promote a citywide appreciation for poetry.” In addition to acting as the literary ambassador for the city, poet laureates carry the responsibility of visualizing new and innovative ways poetry can impact youth in Boston. Current poet laureate Danielle Legros Georges and her work often focused on the beauty of multi-cultural identity. Olayiwola will assume the mantle on Jan. 1. In her first year in this position, Olayiwola will release a full-length poetry collection with Button Poetry.
Like most poets she’s just a full time “activist” who rants about alleged injustices, speaks in iambic pentameter, and calls it poetry.
What were the odds that this government job would go to someone obsessed with identity politics? Never saw that one coming.
hope to see you thursday pic.twitter.com/YEwkWFtZ7u

It’s bad enough your tax dollars pay for nonsense like this, but to make it worse Porsha Olayiwola is also a pretty big racist, and she doesn’t hide it either. She regularly spews bigoted trash on Twitter. Like when she went to Nigeria, and evidently didn’t like the fact that a white woman had the audacity to style her hair in the way that she wanted to.
this White woman is up in this airport leaving Lagos with some damn cornrows why?
— Porsha O (@PorshaOlayiwola) January 24, 2018
Because freedom isn’t nearly as important as a professional activist whining about cultural appropriation. Someone should probably tell her that white people invented obesity and the nasal door knocker, so she should probably stop appropriating their culture too.
Here’s her thoughts on white men in general.
really can’t stand white boys
— Porsha O (@PorshaOlayiwola) February 3, 2018
Now imagine a white male publicly stating, “really can’t stand black women,” and being rewarded with a taxpayer funded job doing nothing as a poet laureate.
She thinks that all white men with cameras are trying to kill her because “white violence is traumatizing.”
white violence is so traumatizing i was in a room with white folks and one man was holding a camera and I nearly jumped out of my skin cause for a split second i thought it was a gun
— Porsha O (@PorshaOlayiwola) March 22, 2018
According to her being white means you are inherently stupid. So stupid that she cannot even comprehend the full scope of your stupidity.
I will never fully comprehend whiteness and the scope of its stupidity
— Porsha O (@PorshaOlayiwola) February 8, 2018
Again, imagine a white male working for the city of Boston who said anything remotely close to this about “blackness.” They’d be world famous by now, and would forever be labeled as a racist. Where can I trade in my white privilege and what can I get for it?
She also compares white children to zoo animals, and in general finds them to be a nuisance when she’s traveling around the world, getting paid to do “poetry.”
One of the most racist things you can say about African-Americans is make any sort of reference to the zoo or animals. But it’s cool to do it to white people because……1800’s.
It’s not only the City of Boston that’s endorsing her racism, it’s Twitter as well. We’re banned from Twitter because we retweeted Kathy Griffin calling Jeff Flake a cunt and pointed out that it was a double standard. Meanwhile she can do this. It’s almost as if being an outspoken femme person of color makes you the privileged one, since people like Marty Walsh reward you for being a bigoted pile of garbage.
February vacation got Logan airport looking like a zoo of white child privilege. Let’s get these kids back in the classrooms and outta these TSA lines.
— Porsha O (@PorshaOlayiwola) February 19, 2018
She “really loves black skin.”
I just really love black skin. And when it be dark. Wow
— Porsha O (@PorshaOlayiwola) April 25, 2018
Yet a couple weeks ago some drunk Columbia student became a viral racist sensation for stating on camera several times that he loved being white. Again, so many privileges come along with being white that I don’t know what to do with them all.
Porsha thinks she should be paid more for being an untalented hack.
Which is why she needs a GoFundMe to fly around and say racist nonsense into a microphone.
She attacks the Boston Police on social media.
And in general is a horrible person. But then again, Didi Delgado gets paid by public schools like Watertown High School to spew her racism, so nothing comes as a surprise anymore.
For the record, I think she should be able to say what she wants, but that doesn’t mean she should be handed this obviously unnecessary and wasteful stipend position. I’m more here to point out the obvious double standards that exist in our society. Racism is fully tolerated in our society, unless of course you’re white. Remember that the next time some social justice warrior whines about white privilege or “institutional racism.” If institutional racism against people of color was a real thing then racists like Porsha Olayiwola wouldn’t be getting taxpayer funded jobs by a white mayor trying to pander to a base where his polling numbers are the lowest.
