So Friday night Baltimore Orioles star Manny Machado took out Dustin Pedroia at second base while sliding into second base and attempting to break up a double play:

Oh for fuck’s sake. It’s baseball. He slid hard into second and Pedroia got a boo-boo. This is sports. When you play second based sometimes you get boo-boos. Did Machado start the slide late? Yup. He could’ve started a foot or two earlier. But once he started sliding, science took over. Not sure what he was supposed to do here. He slides into the big foot first:
Then obviously his foot travels upwards, because, ya know, there’s a base there. After that it comes into contact with Pedey’s calf:
And the first thing he did was get up and make sure he was alright.
So yea, if you’re a Red Sox fan whining about this like so many we’ve seen, just stop. You’re an embarrassment. Might I suggest a new franchise, such as the Montreal Canadiens, or whatever team LeBron James is playing for? You’ll fit in much better there.
