• So You Took A Knee – Now What?

I’m not a fan of taking a knee during the anthem, I didn’t like when Kaepernick started and I didn’t like Sunday when dozens more players participated. Did I watch the game, you bet I did. Does being against the take a knee protest make me a jackbooted Trump supporter? Nope. I don’t like it because it’s not doing anything about the race issues it was intended to address. It is doing a great job dividing the country, however.

The flag and anthem are symbols – thankfully there are men and women in this country willing to die for what those symbols represent. Taking a knee is also a symbol – but without action – real action – behind it it’s meaningless. Is there a magic number of players that are needed to kneel during the anthem and all race issues will just disappear? Anyone have Kaep’s number or maybe the Bennett boys? There must be, right, why else is it still going on?

If people want to protest the NFL and accomplish nothing over players who are also accomplishing nothing by kneeling – knock yourselves out. All you’re doing is making yourselves feel better.

“What did you do during the raise awareness war, daddy?”

“For 2 minutes, one day a week for 16 weeks, I kneeled”

“Wow, did you get a medal Daddy?”

    “I sure did, it’s a participation medal.”

Listen, I don’t take a knee during the anthem and I’ve moved the discussion on race just as far as these nudniks have.

When this first started, and apparently as it continues today, it was about bringing attention to an issue – ok – so you have our attention – what are you going to do with it? You’re either lazy bastards who are waiting for someone else to come along and fix the problem – typical liberal/snowflake behavior. Or you’re a bunch of assholes who have no interest in fixing anything – you only want to stir things up and continue to sow divisiveness in this country.

The large majority of people in this country are against racism – you’re not exactly a revolutionary for taking that stand – but you are a bit of dick for continuing these protests without a way to move forward.

Kaepernick can’t get a job in the league, and that could be because he has shown zero leadership, but he has an opportunity to do more than just be a football player – he could affect real change be doing something with the giant platform he’s been given. But he hasn’t.

Anyone of those other guys could step up. But they haven’t

    That should tell you something.

I can’t let any discussion about the NFL happen without bringing up the utter hypocrisy of the league and the issue of privilege – black privilege™ that is.

When Tim Tebow kneeled in prayer, it was called polarizing. When players wanted to wear stickers in memory of the 5 police officers that were killed in Dallas, they couldn’t. Commemorating 9/11? Not in this NFL. Protesting the flag? Sure thing – can we get you anything? Maybe a national TV camera trained on you the whole time? A weekly press conference to raise awareness, perhaps?

If you want to kneel during the anthem or boycott the league – go right ahead. I’ll be sitting on my couch, watching the game and doing just as much as either of those 2 groups – but I’ll be doing it with an ice-cold beer and a plate of wings in my hand.

I liked it when Bill Clinton was president- he didn’t care when you took a knee!

Remember after 9/11 everyone had the American Flag on their cars? So much for that.

Unfortunately it seems it will take some historical tragedy to reunite this country. Then everything hunky dory until that memory fades, then back to fighting each other and complaining again.

        Maybe a once in a lifetime flood or a cat 5 hurricane…
        Oh wait, that happened already.
        Country is divided beyond repair.

I know chief turtleboy likes basketball.
I saw Bill Russell took a knee. Just wondering if you would call him:

      a. lazy bastard
      b. liberal/snowflake
      c. asshole not interested in fixing anything

    5. Alex

I disagree: this became a big issue the moment the commander in chief spoke his mind in Alabama.

I’m glad he finds time to divide the country in the middle of of nuclear crisis, a botched health care reform, and a tax reform bill. Let’s hope he is better at handling the nuclear football, real football is not his thing.

      1. Barack Obama

I like that you think Trump divided the country. Apparently you were asleep the last 8 years and did. It notice me

What hav the Kelly Square protesters and their sideline leader accomplished to solve racial disparities, social opportunities or educational equality sine their big day blocking traffic?

Oh right, nothing. You haven’t even heard “boo” from them. Know why? Because the first second that anything was required of them besides narcissistic preening, they gave up. They took a figurative kneee and havn’e gotten up since.

All it took was a toothless court hearing that had no real punishment for them to quit.

And eople wonder why there are inequalities. The “champions” of fixing any problems are champions of the selfie, and only that.

A little over 8 years ago there was no racial divide. Then the country was suckered into voting for the first Half Black Kenyan President who viewed everything through racial glasses. Suddenly we were all racists, we just didn’t know. That theory was promoted in his church by the ultra racist (fake) Reverend Wright.

Now the Communists (Democrats and Bernie burnouts) want to elevate little Deval Patrick, another white hating black, to the Presidency. They will fight loud and hard for voter fraud to assure this incompetent fool gets there. If he does, be prepared for a full on, guns a blazing, Civil War II between Urban and Rural areas and remember that the Urban areas are “gun free”.

Don’t tell Alex here in the comments.

He thinks pretending to be one of the good ones is gonna get him a pass when his fellow libs finally ignite a SHTF scenario.

Boy is he gonna be surprised! The SJWs will be the first ones to go because they’ll be catching it from both sides.

PS – Much better take on this issue than liberal TB in his pussification of America blog.

I guess in a year’s time or so, we will be asking the question: What has been more damaging? The skip gates incident where the cambridge police “acted stupidly” or the NFL son of a bitchs’ comment and fallout. I’d wager that the public opinion will not change from today to next year to 5 years from now to 20 years from now. The reason for that is because babies cry the loudest.

Pull your pants up above your knees and perhaps you’ll start getting some respect.

Until then, be respectful and stand for the National Anthem.

If you don’t like it, fucking leave!

F##k these un-American NFL pussies. Time to switch off the TV and do something better on Sunday.

This site is painful to look at, the ads are absolutely disgusting. I figured I’d give it a try here but wow this hurts the eyes. Good luck.

      1. Squash

How can we miss you if you don’t go away, Matk? Oh and the “disgusting ” ads are based on your browser. Ooopps!

    12. Mike

I will still be watching unless the game is on ESPN. I wont be drinking Bud or by energizer batteries. Below is what is a key and why most people perceive them as whiners.

“You’re either lazy bastards who are waiting for someone else to come along and fix the problem – typical liberal/snowflake behavior. Or you’re a bunch of assholes who have no interest in fixing anything – you only want to stir things up and continue to sow divisiveness in this country.”

    13. Vlad the Impaler

Time to vent, someone explain what they are actually protesting. How is kneeling for the anthem which honors veterans and their sacrifices a protest against police brutality and a “free speech” thing? That’s some twisted logic there. Nothing like not seeing a group of narcissistic overpaid assclown millionaires making fools of themselves anymore.
