Saw this post on Facebook from the Leicester High School basketball coach and a teacher of one of Ron Tarentino’s children and wanted to share it:
Are you freaking kidding me? This family is amazing. I don’t know why terrible things have to happen to the nicest people. But Officer Ron Tarentino wasn’t only a great police officer, he was an even better father. This young man is probably dying inside, and he still had it in him to go to all of his teachers and thank them because that’s just how his old man raised him. Holy freaking cow. The strength it must take to do something like that.
Teachers are under attack in this country and have been for some time. Their salaries are constantly scrutinized in the media, their unions are vilified and blamed for wanting the right to collectively bargain their working conditions, they’re held accountable when their students do poorly on standardized tests, and they work countless hours at home to ensure their students have the best chance at succeeding. Many parents in this day and age blame teachers when their kids don’t do well. They view them as obstacles on their kid’s path to Harvard. They only contact teachers to complain.
That’s why it’s so refreshing to know that there are still people out there like Ron Tarentino, who support their kid’s teachers.
The vigil last night in Auburn was PACKED:
See that? That’s how you know you left your mark. That’s how you know your 42 years on earth were worth something. Because you made the world a better place and brought children into it who will continue to do the same.
P.S. Some friends and other cops have told us that Ron Tarentino rode the turtle. We’ve never felt so honored in our entire lives.
We urge you to support the Turtleboy Sponsors by doing business with them. Without them none of this is possible. Click on any of them to check out their sites or Facebook pages.

TB, thanks so much for posting this, including your own measured thoughts. We’ve all had a rough week over this tragedy, but Michael Lynch’s story here has made it all just a bit more bearable.
Heather Phillips pussy smells like an open tuna can, that’s been in the sun for days! Flys be all around it when those pants come off.
I’m not crying… this sandwich is just spicy…
Oh who am I kidding…
What a kid. Kudos to Mr. Lynch for posting.
Wow, that’s all I can say.
God bless this kid. A fine individual. His father would be proud.
Sounds like a well raised young man. Best of luck to him as he enters adulthood. I’m sure he will be a great father too.
Tarentino loved his kid & raised him correctly…his son’s behavior speaks volumes.

The killer had to call a little kid he didn’t know, didn’t live with, nor raise, in the middle of the night to say he was ” sorry”…
Seeing who posted this I’m not surprised. I always had the impression that Mike Lynch is a good man ( I went to school there and was in his history class for my sophomore year). I’m more surprised he actually shared it… He didn’t really cross me as the type to go into stuff like that in a public forum (at least from my perspective. For the sake of it, I was never really all that engaged with stuff other than my classes in that high school), but I’m glad he made an exception.
That got me too…WOW
My boss is looking at me funny cause my eyes are all watered and tears are rolling down my face
I’m working at home today, and am experiencing the same thing, sans the boss. What a kid; what a Dad.
