Worcester’s got some interesting street names, so we decided to come up with a list of the best and worst street names Worcester has to offer. Let us know if we missed any…….
Top 5 Worst Street Names In Worcester
5. Florida Ave
Of all the states in the Union they could’ve picked, they had to choose the most God-forsaken, Walmart-infested, fat bastard enclave of them all? Fail.
4. Plastics Street
This is really the best they could come up with? Did they name this street after Regina George or was there some city planner who just hated aluminum with a raging passion?
3. Chester Street
The only thing I can think of when I hear the word “Chester,” is “molestor.” That’s why people stopped naming their kids Chester. You’re setting your kid up for a lifetime of being called “Chester the molestor.”
2. Gingerbread Ave
Speaking of molesting kids, is there a shadier name than Gingerbread Ave? It’s a dead end street with two houses on it, and for some reason the City of Worcester named it after a house that an old woman who lived in the middle of nowhere used as bait to eat, enslave, and/or molest Hansel and Gretel.
1. Clive Street
Also known as Spanky Ave. Easily the most disliked and racist street in all of Worcester.
Top 5 Best Street Names in Worcester
5. King Philip Road
King Philip was the name a bunch of settlers gave to the Indian chief they were at war with. Then they massacred his entire tribe and named a street after him in Worcester. Murica.
4. Chevy Chase Road
I still say he’s the funniest movie Dad in history.
3. Bel Air Street
Didn’t even know this street existed before today. Now I wanna call a cab up and tell the drive, “Yo Homes, to Bel Air…..street.” Then I want Uncle Phil to toss me onto the patio by my pants for trying to hook up with Ashley.
2. Mary Jane Circle
I see what ya did there Worcester. I don’t know who names these streets, but I’m gonna assume it was someone’s kid is behind this one. Some big shot downtown was running out of names for streets, when he asked his stoner son Spicoli to come up with a name. So his son told him “Mary Jane” and then when his Dad went through with it him and all his buddies had a giggle session in the basement for the next two hours.
1. Dick Drive
LOL. Dick.
What’d we miss?

I hate Drury Lane just because I get the damn muffin man song in my head each time I pass it.
Come on now, TB – get it right!
Uncle Phil was always throwing Jazz out for trying to pick up Hilary, not Ashley.
Ashley grew up to FOINE as fuck, though.
Honorable mention for Hooters to be opening in Shrewsbury where the old Chili’s used to be. Hooters has the BEST buffalo wings! Among other stuff uhhemm.
Boobs N’ Beer, game on BobnMic! Buffalo wild wings is a let down to say the least.
Never been to Buffalo Wild Wings Devils Mouthpiece (and Balls). I hear it’s a great place to watch a game but other than that I live in the north west side of Worcester and there are places closer for that. BUT and I mean BUTT – Hooters would be an exception because of those awesome buffalo wings to make the trek over that bridge. Love their buffalo wings. They’re the breast! I mean BEST!
Thanks for noticing my balls BobnMic. I was rather amused with Spongebob Squareballs fascination with all the anonymous balls. Then I considered using my other alias of Carlos Wrinkled up old Balls, but figured just plain balls would work. But I digress.
Buffalo WW has a very large selection of beers on draught and there are a TON of large television screens for watching sports. The service is good, but the food, eh, not so much…. Very noisy too.
Not been to a Hooters in a while and use to hit the one in Warwick on occasion. I would agree, best wings around and the pitchers of beer are reasonable and cold.
Hmmm…..
Honorable mention for Shamrock Street?
Here’s one for all you comic and super-hero fans — Thats Entertainment, Worcester’s best comic store, is officially on the corner of Park Ave, and Lois Lane. (Superman’s lady friend). Ha Ha
I could have sworn there was a street called “Bacon Slip” up off of Lincoln St but Google Maps can’t find it. I think it was a private road.
I lived near Clive Street in the Columbus Park Neighborhood! I can see the back of my former home at 12 Englewood Ave in your Clive Street Picture,It’s not at at all a racist Street,Nice,Quiet Street to live on,my Friend,Dick Boulette, lives at 8 Clive Street.
What is the over-under on how many days it takes the Telegram to print the exact same story?
It’ll be the front page of the Sunday Telegram.
Oh darn that’s Worcester, UK. My bad again. So would have got lost trying find that from here. Would’ve had to call my babe Elizabeth Hurley or maybe Keira Knightly to navigate that terrain.
Well there’s always the King George Playing Fields off of B4550 which will take you to Lime Ave. in Worcester.
Oh darn, that’s Worcester, Western Cape, South Africa. My bad. Whew would have got lost finding that. Would’ve had to call my babe Charlize Theron to bail me out on that one.
Well there is always Albatros St. which leads you to Vink St. towards Tinktinkie St. off of Rt 43 in Worcester.
Arctic street, not funny after last winter. Beaver Street, well you need not ask. Clapp St. No never go out with a girl from that street.
Dolly Drive, Yup, must have a lot of curves. MLK JR., never in a good section of town.
and the number one worst street in Worcester………. Hiscox, you can’t make this stuff up
My favorite part of Clive St is that the street sign leans soooo far to the left. How appropriate.
Most ironic street name has to be King and Queen streets, in the beautiful Chandler St neighborhood
“Chester the Molester” is actually what we called that running route in high school.
You totally missed Fartbox Dr. I live at #69! 😀
hancock. it’s in main south
My ex-girlfriend used to live on Anal Ave… I really miss her
Havana and Cuba st are great too. Side by side off of Stafford st.
Those are great. Isn’t “Porto Rico” St. right by there too?
