WPD Facebook page: On Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at approximately 10:25 AM two Worcester police officers assigned to the Operations Division, City Hall foot beat, were conducting surveillance around City Hall. The officers were spending additional time in the Common due to complaints received about open air drug transactions that were taking place in the downtown area. This area has been designated as a (TRA) Tactical Response Area which is a geographical area in which divisions within the police department allocate resources tailored to the specific problems within the response areas.
The officers working in the Common observed two males meeting at the entrance way of 22 Front Street. One of the males in the group was later identified as Joshua Evans, 32-years-old of 25 Queen Street, Worcester. Mr. Evans appeared to be engaging in a drug transaction with another male, identified as Angel Torres, 37-years-old of 74 Wall Street, Worcester. The men then proceeded to make a second hand-to-hand transaction.
The officers approached the two men and recovered more than 30 packets of synthetic marijuana (class C substance), also known as the product K2, and $3,754 cash from Mr. Evans. Mr. Torres was in possession of three packets of synthetic marijuana.
Angel Torres was charged with Possession of Class C Substance.
Joshua Evans was charged with Distribution of Class C Substance, Possession of Class C Substance with Intent to Distribute and Drug Violation within 100 Feet of a Park.
Both men will be arraigned on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the Worcester County District Courthouse.
Why wouldn’t these nudniks sell weed behind City Hall? After all, Joe Petty and Ed Augustus have allowed it to become the Farmer’s Market for drugs. Can’t say I blame this guy for doing business there. I mean, he had almost $4,00o on him…..from WEED!!! I’m not even mad. That’s amazing.
Man, this is some pretty professional weed dealing. I mean, think of this guy’s operating costs. What are the margins on those individualized packets? Hey dude, you know you can just put it in a sandwich bag and people will still smoke it right? I mean, you’re selling weed to dope fiends behind City Hall. You could take a bag of shwag, draw fake red lines on it, make up some fancy weed name for it, and the the people would eat that shit up, seed included.
Tangent – Stoners who brag about where their weed came from are the worst stoners on earth. No one gives a shit. Just take your bong rip and shut up.
K2 is so hot right now, and I kind of hate it. There’s nothing wrong with weed. Everyone with a brain knows that. And we’ve done a good job at destigmatizing it by decriminalizing it and allowing medical marijuana. But thanks to Chandler Jones tweeking out on this K2 nonsense, all the anti-weed folks are gonna point to this as a reason that it should remain illegal.
This is yet another example of the Turtleboy Sports Revolution getting shit done in the Woo. We wrote about the fact that the Worcester Common is overrun by assholes buying,
selling, and shooting up heroin in broad daylight all day long.
Finally the city decided to start actually doing something about it. This is what we do at Turtleboy Sports – we highlight the worst of the worst that Worcester has to offer and shame the city into fixing the problem. So the next time you whine about us only showing shitty things, remember what happened here. Don’t get me wrong, we’ve got a long way to go, but at least it’s a start. Just keep doing it so that these vagrants have to set up shop somewhere else. I highly recommend Tracy Novick’s property tax exempt house in West Tatnuck. She hates the cops so you don’t have to worry about her calling them on you.
As usual this has led to some fantastic banter and hot takes from the Worcester Police Department’s Facebook page:
Strong point. I’m sure these people were buying synthetic weed so they can use it as incense. That’s what they did. No chance it’s just some junkie on probation who can’t afford to have real weed in his system.
Fake drugs? Ummmm, pretty sure this is actually a million times better stronger than real weed. When’s the last time someone got hospitalized after smoking a joint? Because K2 got Chandler Jones to lose his Goddamn mind and find his ass in the hospital.
Good point RJ. I’m sure the police officers who made this arrest stepped over dead bodies and purposely ignored open air heroin transactions before putting these two winners in cuffs. That’s it. They literally had to make a choice – arrest someone for murdering this dead guy on the ground, or arrest the guys dealing K2. They went with the latter.
I believe that you found some shady bodega in Main South that will sell you this stuff over the counter. But contrary to popular belief, K2 has been illegal since 2011.
Anyway, glad to see that once again the Turtleboy Sports Revolution was used as a tool for good. This is what we do at Turtleboy – we clean up the city and put scumbags in handcuffs. Give us a couple years and we’ll make Worcester great again. Guaranteed.

I smoke pot not gonna lie but really how do these people like k2? I tried it once almost had a panic attack and said never again. I will still to my weed thank u.
I love the one kid who thinks it’s illegal to carry around more than 10k in cash. Seems more like an unwritten drug dealer rule.
I thought you were talking about ski’s
Real weed is decriminalized, so these idiots sell the illegal, synthetic version. Smart businessmen.
The cops should be careful if they conduct a sting operation in the notorious first floor men’s room at city hall. They might just catch a 6’6″ out-of-towner, on his lunch break, making new friends.
Police never did patrols before TBS…
And you ass hats eat this shit up.
Looser than what?
Does turtleboy not know the difference between Weed and K2 or am
I missing the joke? Does he really think that this guy sells marijuana in home-made packaging ? I
How much does Joshua pay for room and board at 25 Queen St ,a shelter , out of the $4000 he was carrying. Or does he just come into the City to make connections at the shelter .
Gage Scott, what a stupid post. Please keep embarrassing yourself ……
This is all PETTY crime.
Who would walk through the Common except, maybe during the 30 minutes it might be safe at lunch. The reality is drug dealing is easily viewable from Council chambers. It is a disgrace and not to mention the hobos sleeping under trees during summer in their urine infested pants.
K2 is a class C schedule drug, weed is class D. K2 is in fact illegal, Kyeshia. But Im sure it’s on sale at finer establishments all over the city.
