So ESPN fired three time World Series champion Curt Schilling today for posting this meme to his personal Facebook page:
Look, this should surprise absolutely nobody. It’s ESPN. They just gave the Arthur Ashe Courage Award to a 65 year old millionaire man in drag. They don’t try to hide the fact that they are 110% committed to a PC agenda that censors speech. And they’re well within their rights to fire Schilling because they are a private entity, and their employees represent their brand even when they’re not on the clock. The First Amendment does not even come close to applying here, so don’t embarrass yourself in the comments section by mentioning it.
Schilling is a moron too. I listened to him on WEEI this morning and he’s acting like he’s shocked about the reaction to this. Dude, you work for ESPN man. Where have you been? I’m not saying I don’t agree with the comment he made under the post, but anyone with a brain would’ve seen this one coming.
Anyway, I still say all of this is insane. The fact that you’re a bigot if you think someone with a penis is a dude is straight out of Wally’s World. How the hell did we reach this point? This is fucking INSANE!!! And if you think that makes me a bigot, then feel free to go fuck yourself.
I’ve asked it before and I’ll ask it again – if you believe all this shit is real, then why do we put gender on birth certificates? Shouldn’t we wait for the baby to grow up and tell us what gender they are? After all, having a dick does not make you a dude. It’s what you’re feeling inside that defines your gender. Please, explain to me without being a complete hypocrite, how identifying gender at birth isn’t the same thing as identifying gender as an adult. I’ll wait.
And once again, what about the rights of other people? I’ve heard all the arguments in favor of letting anyone use any bathroom they want. The main argument is that no one is going to be sneaking into bathrooms to eye-fuck your daughter. They’re going in there to do their business and leave, just like everyone else. All of this is true, but it doesn’t change the fact that people get buck naked and change in locker rooms. And don’t women and girls have the right not to stare at hairy dong while they’re changing? Why do they have to be subjected to that in the name of tolerance? Why is standing up for the rights of others a bigoted opinion?
Simple solution to all of this – if you got the surgery, then you can go to the bathroom that corresponds with your new anatomy. Because you’re legit and you’re obviously committed to the cause. Until then you go to the one that corresponds with your body parts. The North Carolina law is a bad one because it excludes people who have had the surgery from using the bathroom they identify with, which is extremely confusing and impossible to enforce. But if you were born a man and got it chopped off, then obviously you’re not gonna freak anyone out with your hair dong, because your hairy dong no longer exists.
Here’s another thing – stop comparing this to gay marriage and gay rights. It’s not the same thing. Gay people fought for the right to get married. But what they were really fighting for was the government’s recognition of their marriage. That’s what was really important – forcing the government to grant them full legal rights that heterosexual married couples have.
But what is the transgender community fighting for? How do we know who is transgender and who isn’t? Gay people actually have to marry another gay person. But according to most state laws, there is no set process to define who is transgender and who is not. In theory, anyone can just say they’re a man or a woman and using the corresponding rest room. If a woman doesn’t want to wait in the longer line for the women’s room at the Balrney then she can just say she’s a dude. If a dude doesn’t wanna take a shit in the nasty men’s room, he can just say he’s a woman.
Morons will say, “yea Turtleboy, but that never happens.” First of all, you’re an idiot if you think that won’t happen. I’ll do it tomorrow with zero shame, and not just to prove a point either. I’ll do it because the women’s room is always in better condition than the men’s room. The ladies room smells like flowers and fresh air. The men’s room smells like sweaty balls and Chris Robarge’s underpants. And if I’m willing to do it, then so are millions of other people.
But more importantly, shouldn’t there be some type of paperwork for this? Shouldn’t you have to register as transgender so that schmucks like me can’t put on high heels and drop trow in the ladies room? Shouldn’t the transgender community be fighting to force the government to recognize their transgenderism the same way that gay people did? Gay people who get married actually put their names on a legal document that is registered with the government. That’s what makes it official. That’s the right they were fighting for. Meanwhile transgenderism is basically anarchy. Anyone can say they’re transgender and there’s nothing anyone can do about it.
I will say this about Schilling – that meme sucks. I’ve seen some people sharing it on my Facebook feed and it really makes you look like an idiot. There are legitimate concerns when it comes to this issue, but when you share a picture like that you’re making it look like the only people on your side are narrow minded yahoos. In short, you drive people away from your cause by sharing memes like that. Because that meme doesn’t help anyone engage in any sort of intellectual discourse. It’s meant specifically to demean and make fun of transgender people.
Anyway, Pearl Jam joined Bruce Springsteen in boycotting the state of North Carolina by canceling concerts there, which might be even dumber than what Schilling did. Think about that for a minute. Who is Eddie Vedder punishing by doing that? Everyone knows Eddie is a huge liberal, and so are the vast majority of PJ fans. So basically he’s punishing the only people in North Carolina who agree with him. The rest of the “bigots” he is hoping to punish are gonna stay home, drink a bunch of Budweiser and listen to Toby Keith instead.
Regardless of how you feel about transgenderism, we should all be disgusted by how hard the media tries to crucify anyone who doesn’t agree with their ideology. ESPN said that they’re firing Schilling because they promote “inclusion,” which is complete bullshit because inclusion would include those who have differing opinions on political topics. This is why Turtleboy hasn’t watched ESPN since ought four.
