So both the Turtleboy Sports and Turtleboy Sports Forever Facebook pages got this notification yesterday:
As usual, no reason was given. Nothing was removed. It’s just down. This is the 3rd or 4th time this page has been removed by Facebook robots. We’ll probably just hit the appeal button 5,000 times and get it back like we always do, since Facebook is run by easily manipulated robots and there is no rhyme or reason to anything that happens on there.
We also lost Turtleboy Sports Returns, which is a much smaller page. However, they didn’t tell us it was unpublished and we did not have to appeal the decision to get it back up. We just pressed a button and got it back. This means they did not shut the page down. It just manually shut down on its own because there is no rhyme or reason to anything that happens at Facebook.
The bigger problem for Facbook is going to be this:
On the day they shut down two of our pages we actually paid them for $50 worth of boosted posts on those pages. We do this a lot because we’ve been advised to do so in order to create a paper trail. When we are paying customers Facebook cannot say that we’re using their product for free so fuck off. Now we’re customers paying for a service that Facebook is not providing. They are stealing our money. They are violating the law. We filed a complaint with the California AG’s consumer protection division and anxiously await hearing back from them.
Either way, this isn’t complaining – it’s raising awareness. Other business owners should have the right to know that Facebook will allow mobs of Didis and Lynch’s to take down your page, even after soliciting money from you to advertise that page. It’s also building a case. What they are doing is illegal, and it’s important to document this stuff. Good luck to Facebook’s lawyers to defend this one in court.
Anyway, Clarence Woods Emerson is our open personal Facebook page that you should follow (not friend request) by clicking here. Personal pages don’t get hidden by algorithms and thus engagement is much higher over there. You’re not really a turtle rider unless you’re following Clarence.
And because it’s open to the public anyone can comment and post dumb things like this:
Right. Because speech that the “community finds offensive” should be bannable in a free society that encourages the exchange of thoughts and ideas. That’s totally NOT a slippery slope that could be abused to crush dissenting opinions.
So Austin is a frequent troll on Clarence’s page, which is fine. We welcome free speech and dissenting opinions, especially when its weak and baseless. Way easier to expose. All you have to do is just give these people a little bit of rope and they find a way to trip over it in a vain attempt to be woke.
Austin in particular was the perfect troll to destroy with facts, considering our history…..
Yes, that’s right. The troll who thinks we are “hate speech,” contacted us last year to advertise his rap music (I know, shocking that he’s an aspiring rapper) on our blog.
Here’s how it went down:
We never got back to him. Honestly, we felt bad. He seemed like a decent enough person and we didn’t wanna take his money. He’d pay us a few hundred bucks to run an ad, a couple people would listen to his music, laugh at him, and he’d make no money off of it.
A scammy media network would take this poor guy’s money and run. Not Turtleboy though. We’re a blog of integrity. We’re not gonna take money from you if we don’t think it’s a good investment for you. Because we care about you.
Of course the best part is that this is what he thinks of our blog:
Remember, we’re hate speech.
“Facebook reserves the right to ban YOUR hate speech.” So Austin Tuttle is going out of his way to not only read our hate speech, but to finance it. Oh yea, nothing hypocritical about that!! This one’s almost too easy.
Nevertheless he persisted…..
Oh yea, that’s the same thing. Except you didn’t contact Donald Trump offering him money to promote your rap album. Besides that your logic is pretty rock solid.
But it’s OK because he thought he could make money off of his investment….
“I think you’re wicked racist, your speech is hateful and should be banned from Facebook, but if I could potentially make a couple bucks off of your audience and finance your website then I’m willing to drop these objections because I don’t really mean any of this shit anyway.”
Austin Tuttle, then changed course and suddenly had this to say….
Austin Tuttle – “To be honest, I wouldn’t describe you guys as hate speech.”
Also Austin Tuttle – “Facebook deserves the right to ban your hate speech.”
Can’t make this stuff up.
Some people just really can’t take the L. I mean, we’ve all said dumb things on the Internet, but when you’ve been exposed for being a blatant hypocrite it’s also wise to just accept the fact that you can’t win em all and move onto the next one. Just sayin.
Not Austin though…..
Oh Austin. You silly, silly child. People rally against us because they don’t like the fact that we expose and tell the truth. We have no real political bias. Our allegiance is only to facts, logic, and truth. Three things that you and your mob of brown shirts fear more than anything. For years they’ve gotten away with being Internet bullies who use mob/Nazi tactics to kill speech they don’t agree with and scare people from speaking their minds freely. But it’s not working, and every day we grow stronger, with or without Facebook. This is why they rally against us. Because the truth frightens them, and we are winning the culture war.
